I have only had my iPhone 5 for about half a year and the cable is now not working I am going to have to buy a new one tomorrow, lets see how long this one lasts. Apple get on the ball here and redesign the lighting cable please because this is poorly made.

Love my iPad, hate my lightening charger

I am so glad I saved up and bought the iPad, but within a month the charger cable had a small crack in the flexible wire covering, and after 4 months of gentle, adult controlled use, I have to replace it. The wires inside must have cracked since I can only get a charge power from bending the cord at a 90 degree angle about 1 to 2 cm from the connection. At this rate, I will be spending a minimum of $63/year on charging cords. Yikes! Apple, I love your products, maybe even more than my kids some days, so please fix this. Oh... And while I'm putting in requests... Please make the cord longer too.

    Horrible Charger

The Charger already has broken and my iPhone5 is barely 4 months old. I am very careful with how I use it and still the cord stops working after a short period of time. I had the same problem with my iPhone 4 charger also when I had that phone. Apple needs to spend more time in making the chargers.

The USB cord are horrible. They last about three months and then you have to buy another one. The money that I spent on my iPhone 5 I shouldn't have to be replacing my USB cord every three months.

This cable stopped working only three months after I purchased it. Apple's quality has decreased considerably since Jobs passed away.

What is the deal with these lousy cords? I got my iphone 5 when it came out and i've already had to buy two replacement lightning cords. I'm really tired of this, perhaps I should sell this phone and go with the Samsung Galaxy. At this rate I could have almost bought a new phone for the price of these cords. I had the iphone 3GS and NEVER bought a new cord for it. Completely shoddy workmanship or a plan by Apple?

I've only been using this charger for a couple of months and it has already stopped working. Nothing is ripped or broken, it just stopped working. Apple has been nothing but a disappointment lately, can't wait for my contract to end and make the switch to Samsung.

With the many reviews of this product breaking, I can't help but say I have had NO issues at all with this cable. I have even stressed the charging pin by accidentally applying too much force to it while it was plugged in, almost bending it and breaking it off inside (it did not bend or break) and it still works fine with no damage. Mine is durable and great. Then again, I don't abuse or hulk smash my Apple products or their accessories like MANY people do. I don't think its the product, I think its users being careless, aggressive and irresponsible.

My daughter has had her new iPod touch for 4 months and we have just ordered her 4th lightning cable. Live too far from an Apple store to take the silly thing back and it is cheaper to buy new ones than to cover the travel costs.

Have also just bought an adapter so will see how long that lasts. Previous style of connector worked just fine and she had her iPod nano for 4 years and the cable is still intact.

Prob with new one is that the wiring seems to be really flimsy and it breaks at the lightning end. Have ordered 3 more just to keep us going - at this rate it seems like previous gen of iPod touch would have been a far better option!

Please fix this Apple since she loves her iPod touch and far too many people seem to have the same complaint about the same issues.

Worst thing Apple ever did - Cables will not last more than a few months - cheaply made - I have had my iPhone 5 for 6 months - I am on my 4th cable. Would rather have a 4GS just because of the junk cable. Apple should be ashamed

I am on my second lightning wire already (less than 6 months). The old 30 pin wire I only had to purchase a new one when I needed an extra wire. Apple needs to recall these wires like they do with ipods especially since alot of people have already purchased more than one. If you plan on changing something so drastic maybe spend some time putting it through the rigors of everyday life before releasing it to the public.

You guys are lucky you had it last a couple of months. Mine broke the very first time I restored my data from iTunes! If the support website didn't give me a strange error when I tried to get a replacement, I wouldn't have to take the whole iPod back. Oh well, Apple's loss.
