Why Apple? Why did you have to change back to the T charger? Im constantly having to plug it back in when the computer sits on my lap. Please bring back the L charger!!!

The plug has a serious design flaw that causes it to disengage far too easily from the socket. The plug and wire extent out about 3/4" making it a long lever. The magnet is quite strong, and pulling the plug out straight takes quite a bit of force. Tap the wire or plug up or down however, and it comes right out. Such is the power of leverage. It works fine on a desk, but on your lap it can be a challenge to keep the plug in.

This should be, and hopefully will be, redesigned in the next revision. The lever needs to be shortened. The L connector design helps by removing the wire, but its not absolutely necessary. The plug itself is more important as it does not flex and is too long, Something shorter and fatter would be more effective.

Apple, why did you take a huge step backwards? The previous L shaped magsafe was ingenious, now it's T again, but why? Did anybody actually test this before it got released? Obviously not, otherwise they would have realized that this T shaped POS is so much worse. It is literally impossible to use with my rMBP laptop. Maybe I should not use it on my lap, but when I do, this poor quality T adapter gets disconnected when I move my legs or slightly tilt the computer. Please go back to the L shaped one or at least make the magnet stronger b/c this is quite annoying to use.

That's the only explanation for why this adapter is never stays in my computer. I swear I plug it in constantly and next thing I know...unplugged. Is this Steve Jobs trying to play with our minds....Come on Apple give us all a better product or some money back for this terrible design!

I agree with everyone who says it's too weak. Also, I prefer the L-shape flush design. Less likely to get bumped.

The slightest movement or using the laptop on a non flat surface like a bed cause this to come off. Due to its length and the thin height of the new laptops this comes into almost immediate contact with any nearby surface coming loose. The connector really needs to project at an angle like the previous generation or be much much shorter.

In continuation of the fact that the Magnet is too weak to stay in, the fix seems to be the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter. It is much stronger than the Native MagSafe 2 adaptor by itself. Use it with your older adaptors or buy a new 85W MagSafe 1 or 1.5 adaptor and use the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter for a stronger bond.

The T connector is just horrible. Try using the laptop on your lap and you will spend most of the time reconnecting the power cable. Apple did not spend any time on the details with the new connector. The previous L shaped connector rocked.

The magsafe end of the charger has been thinned down and returned to the T connector shape. This means that it is very easy to be rocked up or down and disconnect. Also since the connector is thinner it has extra magnet surface area on the sides of the connector to make the connection strong enough, but this larger area on the sides get's full of little pieces of dust and dirt that keep the charger from connecting. This was not an issue on the older version. The connection on the computer side needs to be deeper or the connector needs to be taller. Also it would likely benefit from being switched back to the L shaped connector so there is less leverage.

The T connector does NOT stay in, if I am working portably away from my desk, I find that the slightest up or down bump dislodges the connector. The L connector never did this. Disappointed that such a wonderful machine can have such an annoying disability.

I also don't like the fact that the cord extends perpendicularly to the MBP, liked the L cord running backwards away from laptop, it just was a neater appearance and worked better universally, i.e. when the plug was either to left or right of my laptop, it didn't matter.

This is my 3rd MBP in the last 3 years, upgrading each time happily, so I have worked with the 3 different connectors, and for me the L connector has been the best so far.
