I love this cover! You have to fit the corners in, but holds the iPad snuggly.

I really liked the Smart Case at first...I replaced my Smart Cover + Belkin back with what I thought would be a great combination of both. And at first, it was. But now I have the same complaints as some others: 1) the angle when it stands is so far back, it falls over all the time (forget about using two hands to play a game...and heaven forbid if you bump the table or desk) and 2) the sharp edge is really painful after awhile.

I love the red color, I love the idea...but I'm not so crazy about the execution. So I guess I'm breaking up with my Smart Case today and returning to my original two pieces...I just hope they'll take me back.

Finally, after many trials and errors with cases that did not EXACTLY fit my specific needs, this case is here. It doesn't slip off easily, it covers the face with embedded metal strips for protection, it is super light, it is not in the way of performance, it sits the iPad upright for hands-off viewing, it comes in great colors, it looks good with the Apple logo in white on the back, and it covers ALL of the iPad! What else could anyone want? Love it!!!

After finally treating myself to an iPad, I wasn't going to cheap out on the case. This may cost a little more than other cases, but it fits like a glove, doesn't interfere with using the iPad, gives great protection and looks good too.

This is a fantastic accessory for your iPad! I love everything about it! It fits like a glove (I have the latest iPad), the texture of the case is very pleasant to touch, the edges are smooth and you get a very pleasant feeling just holding it in your hands. The cover works just like it is supposed to, you can adjust it to any angle to fit your viewing needs and in addition on the inside it has very nice and soft padding, designed to protect your screen. Another great job done by Apple! If you are hesitating after reading some of the negative reviews, I have to say a few things: Ignore all reviews that are stating that it does not fit, or the edges are rough or that it falls over - it is all absolute nonsense, don't listen to it! Think about it - this product is made BY APPLE FOR APPLE PRODUCT!!! It is PERFECT!!!! Yeah, you might find another case out there which is okay, but then again, why would you put the aftermarket rims on a Mercedes? Do yourself a favor and get it, you won't regret!!!!

Just got it today. It popped right in the case and the fit is good an' snug. I like the minimalist design vs. the huge cases that are out on the market. It is not cheap and that's why I rated it only four stars. Otherwise, it functions perfectly. I'm happy.

I bought the blue smart case for my spanking new 4th generation iPad. It definitely fits snugly, like so snugly that I feared damaging my iPad just to get the corners to pop into the metal reinforced frame. But once it was in it was very secure. It's a pretty blue with the white Apple logo on the back. I like the wake from sleep feature when opening the cover. However, I noticed after just a short bit of use that my hand was hurting from the sharp edge. So I decided to do the "fold & prop". Standing up was unstable no matter which way I flipped and folded the cover and laying down only elevated it a little bit so it may as well been lying flat. I was going to keep my iPad in it until I return it to the store in a day or two, but it was collecting every speck of dust and dirt on its pretty blue cover I was afraid they wouldn't take it back...so now my iPad is bareback until I can find a full cover that doesn't add bulk and doesn't cut into my hands. Definitely a disappointment...especially at $50!

I have had this case about three weeks, and have noticed a small crack in the outside layer near the hinge. This appears to be a defect in the case. It is in a place that would not be exposed when the case is open and the iPad is in use. When I am not using the iPad, it has been just lying on a table. I have never taken it out of the house, so there is no possibility of damage from being carried in a purse or backpack.

I don't live near a retail Apple Store, and the case is listed as not eligible for return when I checked my account at the online Apple Store.

I've had the case for almost three months. The hinge is already worn out and now the cover closes sloppily and doesn't always shut the iPad off. The case also has relatively sharp edges, make it a pain (literally) to hold the iPad for an extended period of time. Because of the worn hinge, the iPad doesn't stand on the folded cover any more and constantly tips over. I'm really disappointed in the case. It was a waste of money.
