    Needs improvement

    • Written by from New Orleans

It was pretty nice upgrade from the Smart Cover and it works well for protecting the iPad. It also feels nice and smooth and just feels good in your hands. The problems with the case...I have several. The case is coming apart from the seams, although I have had it for about 2years and it is a year past warranty. It doesn't fit into the stand charger I bought from apple, and so the cover has to be removed for charging on this device. In my opinion, Apple products should fit and work together. The biggest problem with the case is the following: when using the case as a stand, the iPad easily tips over. It cannot be used this way as intended, and that was happening from day one, so not a wear and tear issue. My iPad tips over at the slightest touch and this is one of the reasons I bought this smart case.

    Loved this Case, but....

    • Written by from Philadelphia

I bought the case almost exactly a year ago. It fit perfectly, and was very convenient for carrying the iPad to work and using it in meetings. Unfortunately, after one year of normal use, the case has fallen apart. The frame has torn away from the body of the case and consequently, the iPad slips out. This is not an inexpensive case, so I had hoped to use it for more than a year. I haven't decided whether to buy another one or try something else. If you decide to purchase this case, just be careful with it.

    Not sturdy enough

    • Written by from Ottawa

I have used this smart case for over two years now. It worked well in the beginning but over time the material softened up and the iPad kept falling out. Recently the iPad fell out onto concrete and broke. I bought a mini now use a Logitech folio which works great and is a much better product than Apple smart case. Overall, there are better products out there. Don't let the Apple logo fool you.

    Ok but needs improvement

    • Written by from Sioux Falls

Nice case overall. Love the red. Love the magnetize feature. The bad thing about the case is it doesn't stand up that great. When you roll it back to make it stand, it falls backward a lot. So with that being the case, no pun intended, i would spend half the money on a case that allows the iPad to stand up better.

    Wonderful case, just one problem...

    • Written by from Lathrup Village

I love this case. I bought my iPad 2 over a year ago and have had no problems. It fits well, doesn't fall off, and closes easily. The only problem I've had is that recently, after over a year of using it, it's falling apart. The glue has dried up and my iPad constantly falls out and shifts. I had ZERO problems for over a year, but if you'r eloping for something that will last I would recommend buying one of the newer cases which were probably made to solve this problem.

    Useful for a year.

Liked this case. I bought it in red, but it started to come apart after a year. Now my iPad slips through the bottom. Really upset about that.

Love the case but magnet stopped working

    • Written by from Columbus

I got this case in PINK when I got my iPad in August and had it specially engraved. I love the look and it has done very well with protecting my iPad, however, the cover has lost a ton of magnetic strength. It doesn't adhere to my iPad anymore so if I were to put it in my backpack it would flop all over. Now they don't even make the case in pink anymore some I'm looking for an alternative. Sad day... :(

    Good but affects wireless reception

    • Written by from Eureka

Had this for a couple of months. It is a very solid and ergonomic case. But I recently noticed that the cover, when opened and folded all the way around the back of the iPad seems to affect the wireless reception. Where there's a good solid signal it doesn't seem to matter much. But when the signal is marginal, folding the cover back in this manner causes a loos of two bars on the reception meter. It makes sense since it has metal around the edges of the cover. Still a pretty good case.

    It was pretty good

    • Written by

I liked the style of the case, but I dropped my I pad mini on a corner and my case only covered the screen not the bottom so it cracked. I was very unhappy with myself. However I did like it and how it folded. The only thing I'm to crazy about is the price. I think its a bit to much. I plan on getting the iPad air for myself and getting a smart cover case that covers all of it and getting another case like a sleeve. I really don't want to crack it! Wish me luck!

    Not Worth It's Price.

    • Written by from London

For the price that the iPad case costs the stand does not work. I've had it standing up being supported by the case and I'll tap it ever so slightly and then it'll fall over so easily. The case also gets dirty easily from pen marks and food stains.

    Started off a good product

    • Written by from Inkster

Ok the cheap cases I had in the past didn't hold up so assuming since this was an apple product I thought It would hold up...NOT the magnetic closure doesn't stay connected I dont know what happened but it just stop working/staying closed. It never aligned well, and the price of it too much wasn't worth it I truly feel this was a waste of money!

Would Steve Jobs approve this case? I think not.

    • Written by from Fayetteville

The feel of the case is lovely and I love the slimness. However, I have now tried three of these cases, only one of which truly fit the iPad. The folks at the Apple store in town were skeptical and reluctant to accept a return, but in fact, the other two cases gapped badly on the sides when the cover was folded back. When the cover is folded into the handy-looking triangle that's shown in the pictures, the triangle doesn't really hold its position in either horizontal or vertical position; it tends to slip around. Finally, the cover can be jiggled loose if the iPad is stuffed in with books, folders, etc. in your travel bag, so don't depend on it to stay in sleep mode. Better to power it off when traveling. I'm keeping this third one, but I'm disappointed.

    Not the Expected Apple Quality

    • Written by from Cupertino

I bought a light gray smart case for my new ipad and was very pleased with the protection it offered. I noticed that the entire cover was getting dirty very fast and started to leave markings on the screen. This case has been used slightly heavily and just started falling apart after about 5-6 months of use. Not the quality I expected considering the price. I had to order a new one because this indeed protects the ipad, as mine looks like new. This time I'm going to go with a dark gray one. I just wish they would do something about the quality of the case.

    It's Okay for Now

    • Written by from Chicago

Just picked up a new iPad and grabbed this case. Wanted something to protect it initially and it's not too bad. The fit is nice and tight and the material seems pretty sturdy. Not sure it's 49 bucks worth but I have 2 weeks as a return window. I do plan on upgrading to the iPad 5 (couldn't hold out though...been on the original until today) and this along with a Speck screen protector should keep it in good shape in prep for a resell.

    Bottomline...meh ;-)

    The good and the bad

    • Written by from Agia Paraskevi

Bought the case in Sept 2012 to protect the ipad2 from my 3 children. First of all does good in a fall, the ipad corners were protected. Bad news that in Feb2013 it started to become unglued. By April of this year three sides have completely come undone. The device could not sit in the case, just slipping and sliding about. The thing that upsets me the most is for the price tag, i expected something a little more durable. Now maybe i got a bad batch, or maybe that what happens to it after time. I will be looking for a more durable case.

    Hinge is terrible

    • Written by from Oshkosh

The hinge on the left side of the iPad 4 where the cover connects with the case does not stay firmly seated thus exposing the aluminum edge of the iPad and constantly requires readjustment when cover is flipped back behind iPad. I miss the original iPad 1 case which in my opinion was a superior design albeit its propensity to show dirt.

The product itself is good, however the material that its made with is not worth $50. If you want something that feels expensive look elsewhere.

    iPad Smart Case

    • Written by from Newport

This case is fair. Not a snug fit and looks like the iPad could fall out of this if not careful. Rigid edges uncomfortable if held from sides and forced to hold in open hand on bottom. I expected better from Apple especially considering the price.

    Ouch! Sharp edges

    • Written by from Mendota Heights

This form fitting case is really quite well designed except for one aspect - sharp , hard rubber/polyurethane edges all around. By sharp I mean that when you are lying down and you balance it on your body, the edges really dig in and it's uncomfortable. The same when you are holding it firmly in your hands - unnecessarily sharp. Please round these with the next model.
