I bought this from Apple because I wanted something fitted by the people who made the device.

What I received was a big disappointment. The case edge rolls off the device where the cover folds back. It's a constant irritation to have to pop it back over the lip.

The other big issue is that the case was designed to fit previous model iPads, so it has the bigger hole for the 30-pin connector. Unfortunately, that hole is not aligned to the lightning connector properly, so when I plug the device in to charge it, the case slightly obstructs the connector, often causing the device not to charge.

For the price and being directly from Apple, I expected flawless. I didn't get that kind of product. Not by a long shot. Do not recommend.

Short of some kind of bullet proof water proof case, this case provides great tactile response (aka not slippery), the roll top stand, and superb protection of your iPad. If the iPad falls, the sides have a lip of case that takes the hit on the floor without damaging the case, without damaging the iPad and without damaging your travertine tile (don't ask). I was looking for a case which doesn't feel my ipad chunky or thick.
This case fits exactly right to the ipad yet sturdy enough to protect the body.
This case is worth the price, and also I like the dark grey color that doesn't seem to get dirty.
But It would've been better if there are more angles available more than two.

Very easy to install on the ipad and really functional. It protects the ipad and is so convenient to use. The sleep and instant awake are features that are a must.

I think the case works just fine with my iPad 4th gen. After reading all the reviews only one was true. It's not the sturdiest when you have it standing up while watching a movie or something but unless your watching it while on a bumpy road you'll be fine. No REAL complaints about it

The typing angle is too low when you fold the cover back and when the cover is used as a stand, it's not very sturdy.. I wanted black, which is not offered in the full smart case, so I settled for dark gray, but it's not as dark as pictured. It's more of an industrial gray. The light gray looks like dirty white. Red isn't really true red, pink, blue and green remind me of an Easter basket. They couldn't have offered worse colors. I don't mind paying $50 for a case, but I shouldn't have to settle for unattractive colors and limited functionality. I liked the first generation iPad case much better.

It's flimsy and not very well made. Does not stand well and looks like its starting to wear out after less than a week old. Don't bother with the free engraving because you need a high power magnifying glass to see it. The Chinese blew it on this one, go figure

I really like the fit and finish of this case. I want to love this case, but the sharp edges of it make it painful to hold for any length of time.

The problem is that the edges dig into the palms of your hands.

I'm going to have to return it and search for something that won't hurt to use.

I was surprised at the texture of the case,very soft and smooth to the touch. The overall compact style of the case makes my iPad 4 all the more mobile. No problems getting the case on. Magnets work well for shut off and secure closure. Easy to open. The only con, would like the cover to actually secure to the case when flipped back.
