This cover is amazing, like how it adds the ability to tilt the iPad for ease of use when typing,or watching moves.Only thing i do not like is i have not found a way to keep it clean, i have only had it for a couple months and you can see all this dirt and smug marks on the cover. Guess it is better on my cover then my iPad screen

I love the feel and multifunction feature. It also nice way to protect the screen without losing the touch and feel of IPad. It fits perfect. Pure genius.

    Works as it should

In response to the 1 stars. This is a screen COVER not an iPad case. It does as it should, protects the screen from scratches, spills etc when its closed. Acts as a nice little prop for the table, and folds so the user can get a better grip on the iPad when reading. Easily removed at any time, and very low profile. Of course it wont protect the corners/ screen/ back/ internals when you drop it on tile, that's not its intent people.

    Shocking Quality

The less said about the cover the better, After a few months of usage I face the following issues:
    1. The magnetic catches have sctrched the ipad from where it sticks to it.
    2. The cover itself is a dust magnet and after a few months of usage there is more dust on the screen than outside as the inside of the cover accumulates the dust
    3. Dust Lines
    4. Mine is a blue polyurethane one and though the material is undamaged , the colour has faded of in patches and it looks like a blue cheetah skin.
    Consider your self warned

Would be great if it were more durable

I love the smart cover. The material is perfect--helps keeps the iPad from slipping when it's on my lap, the folding cover is really handy and the magnetic clasps are awesome--easy to out on and off, but secure when needed.

HOWEVER, the quality is shocking for Apple. The colour has worn off all the edges of mine, leaving shabby, white edges, the magnets have damaged the iPad, and now the plastic is starting to peel off. Very disappointing.

Liked it but leaves marks on my IPad

I have had mine since sept. 2011. I noticed today the cover had all these black marks on the magnet. I then looked at my iPad and saw black marks all over it where the smart cover connected. Most came off with my finger but not all. It's like the finish is scratched from the magnets. I am most unhappy as I totally take care of my iPad and hate scratches of any form. I am going to bring this to the store and see what they have to say. I like how it operates but can not tolerate scratches. My iPad now has permanent marks from a cover purchased to protect it from just that.

    Not happy and don't recommend

    Marks easily

I have read lots of reviews of this product, but nobody seems to have mentioned the fact that it marks really easily. Even a drop of water will mark it and will not come off. I've tried cleaning it, but nothing works and it looks horrible. I am definitely changing back to the full cover, not just because they offer more protection, but also because they look cleaner. I hate my blue cover, it looks a mess and I really haven't had it that long, although sadly too long to be able to return it.

    Smart cover

Being a huge Apple fan it is difficult to write something negative however I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased the smart cover. The magnetic connection is not nearly strong enough for me and the cover falls off when I pick it up, am holding it open, or reading in bed.

    Expected better from Apple

I have had the Smart Cover for about 6 months. I paired the Smart Case with a hard case for the back of the iPad designed to work with the Smart Case. For the first 3 or 4 months I had no complaints other than leaving lines on the screen that were easily wiped away. After that, however, the magnet that connects to the aluminum side of the iPad began to scratch it. Now, the side of my iPad has many spots where the aluminum has been rubbed "raw". Would not recommend.

This is perfect for me because I love watching movies n my iPad but my hands get tired when I hold my iPad. When I got the Smart Cover it kept up my iPad and worked perfectly. It's also good for typing and keeping up your iPad.

It does what it's supposed to do

I got the blue cover with my white iPad 2 when they first came out. I have enjoyed having the cover, and it does what it's supposed to do: it covers the screen and protects it when not in use, it folds into a comfortable little stand when open, and it makes the iPad wake/sleep. I also like the way it looks. I have never had to clean it, and it looks as good today as it did when I first bought it. The magnets have weakened some in the almost 1 year since I first bought it and so the cover comes off occasionally when it's in an awkward position, but it generally isn't a problem. It's important to keep in mind that this cover is only attached by magnets, so you shouldn't hold the iPad by the cover or you'll risk dropping it.

    Not worth the money

I like the concept of the cover. I like that you can use it to prop up your Ipad to watch movies and type. But...

I have only had the cover for a few days and it is starting to looking very dirty on the inside and outside. Also, if I am going to pay $40 for a cover, I want a little more protection. I had to buy a seperate back cover for my IPad.

All in all, I do like the cover. I just don't think it was worth what I paid.

I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing this product. It doesn't prop up very well and wants to fall. It doesn't offer too much protection. I am already looking for a replacement.

With my smart cover on, I accidentally dropped my iPad straight on its face. I then proceeded to pick up my iPad to find the screen shattered. If you want protection, look else where.

    A Good Cover

I have had the light blue case now since the iPad 2 first came out. It works fine, as expected and I have had no problem with it. To wash it, I just go to my kitchen sink and lather it with warm water and a bit of dishwasher detergent. I dry it with a kitchen towel. It cleans beautifully. Unlike what I have read from some other reviewers, the magnets are good and strong and my iPad isn't in need of a protective case, since I carry it in my purse. No complaints here. I would buy a red case in a minute if it were available in poly. No leather, thanks.

    Do not waste your money!

Everyone I know that has this cover at school absolutely hates it! They break super easily and are not worth the $40. I take my ipad with me to class everyday and this case only worked for about a month. If you don't plan on taking your ipad with you a lot of places then I'm sure this would be ok, but it does not hold up if you travel frequently. What I mean by the case breaking, is that the magnetic strip that attached to your ipad comes apart from being put in and out of my bag. Because the strip is broken, I can no longer prop my ipad up. Plus this case does not have a back, so you need to be an additional case for the back. I am looking for a new case, but they are expensive and I already wasted $50 on this smart cover and a back.

    Useless..would not recommend this.

Really find that this was a waste of money. For my use, I find that it unsnapped every now and then (sometimes almost dropping the ipad). I ended up upgrading to a different case made by targus 2 months later. For $40, I think there are some MUCH better cases on the market that will provide better protection and will have better use.
