Don't buy!!!! Comes right off the iPad2. My husband was carrying it and the cover slipped off fell on his foot and cracked the screen. The old style cover protected well.

Everything about this cover just works. It holds your iPad up for typing and just to watch movies on it. I was skeptical about it at first but bought it anyways because apple has never let me down. You did it again apple. One more product that just works. :)

The iPad smart cover is awesome. I only got mine recently, but I love it. The texture is great, I love how it wakes or sleeps my iPad, how the microfiber cloth keeps the screen clean, and how I can fold it as a stand. Absolutely brilliant .

The color is pretty. It does wake and sleep the iPad 2, but it wouldn't stay on! I was so excited to get this for my parents for Christmas but the magnets wouldn't hold to prop the iPad at all! what a ruined gift.

I have had the light blue case now since the iPad 2 first came out. It works fine, as expected and I have had no problem with it. To wash it, I just go to my kitchen sink and lather it with warm water and a bit of dishwasher detergent. I dry it with a kitchen towel. It cleans beautifully. Unlike what I have read from some other reviewers, the magnets are good and strong and my iPad isn't in need of a protective case, since I carry it in my purse. No complaints here. I would buy a red case in a minute if it were available in poly. No leather, thanks.

Touch screens are prone to scratching. This cover does a very nice job of protecting the screen and a decent job of propping the iPad. Other reviewers have had issues with the magnets - mine is about 5 months old and receives daily use for at least one hour. I have not experienced magnet weakening. As this is just a cover, I do not expect it to protect my iPad from falls. I like that I can set my iPad to lock when I close the cover over the screen. As for the complaints about the price, I bought the iPad 2 64 GB, not cheap. Spending $40 to protect the screen is not excessive or unreasonable. The only con that I see at this point is that the cover is difficult to clean. I can live with that, as long as the performance continues.

If you drop your iPad this cover will be of no use to you. If you take your iPad out of the house often, or if you allow others to use it: choose another case or cover.

I liked the cover the first month, it was o.k. for the next few months but after 6 months, it was useless. The magnets will not stay on.... very disappointing product from Apple.

I just purchased my IPad 2 in December. I shopped around to see if there were better after market products out there. I found many other types of covers; and yes, they were cheaper. But all of them hide the iPad's aesthetics, and only serve one purpose. I'd rather have the real deal because it projects the design and product at the same time.

Everyone I know that has this cover at school absolutely hates it! They break super easily and are not worth the $40. I take my ipad with me to class everyday and this case only worked for about a month. If you don't plan on taking your ipad with you a lot of places then I'm sure this would be ok, but it does not hold up if you travel frequently. What I mean by the case breaking, is that the magnetic strip that attached to your ipad comes apart from being put in and out of my bag. Because the strip is broken, I can no longer prop my ipad up. Plus this case does not have a back, so you need to be an additional case for the back. I am looking for a new case, but they are expensive and I already wasted $50 on this smart cover and a back.
