    Case can't stand up

    This case isn't as advertised. You can't stand this case up with any reliability. The edges are hard and will cut into you. Everything the commercial says it will do it actually won't do. The only pro to this case is that it will cover the whole iPad and it looks cool but I'd rather have something that will work rather than looks. This is a miss apple. Another miss since jobs left get it together I'm not impressed

    Great Cover!!

    This is a GREAT cover. I've had mine since I purchased my iPad Dec 2011 and it is still working just fine. I use the iPad every single day and the cover has never come off. I'm able to watch videos by using the cover as a stand. I'm able to type by using the cover to prop it up. I highly recommend this cover.

    I love my smart cover! I use my iPad for just about everything. The smart cover is great because it protects the screen but doesn't make the iPad bulky. I also love that it allows the iPad to hibernate without any additional action by the user. I have seen a few reviews saying that the cover doesn't hold up and the liner starts getting loose. I have had my cover for almost three years now and have not had any problem with it. My only complaint is that I wish they made more/better colors for them. I got pink because it was the best choice but I would really like something different now.

    Got the pink as I am totally a girlie-girl. Initially purchased one by Lily Pulitzer but it would not stay on...this one fits perfect and I love it! I also may add --all the colors are beautiful!

    saved my ipad

    i was going to school on my scooter when a car pulled out in front of me. i swerved to miss the car and thats when my ipad flew off the scooter and skidded down the roadway. my cover had heavy scratches on it but my ipad was perfect. thanks again to the salesperson who talked me into buying the cover.

    I wondered why the salesman told me to be sure to keep my receipt.
    After 2 days, the cute smart cover was driving me crazy!
    The magnets may or may not be strong enough to hold the extra weight of the 3rd generation iPad, but they definitely don't fit the steeply angled sides.

    My iPad 3 would never stand up for video watching, and even when typing, the cover kept sliding off.
    I have an original iPad that is still without a scratch -- this one fell face down when the magnets on the smart cover disconnected.
    The Apple Store manager's reasoning as to why it was not their fault? iPads should never be held in one hand!

    Hated it at first ...

    For all the same reasons posted here! It would pop off in the rolled position and I worried I would drop my IPad if I wasn't careful. I loved that my IPad went to sleep when it was closed and that it could act as a stand in both the horizontal and vertical positions (if it would stop popping off). Then I found my Incipio back case. It is compatible with the Smart Cover and snaps over the hinges so that it holds the cover on tightly. I can pick up my iPad by the cover now without it coming off. And the colors closely match the smart covers! So .. I'm buying a new iPad for my grandchildren, and I'm getting a new Smart Cover here in pink!

    I see so many covers that work better. The magnets don't hold so the case falls off, it doesn't stay rolled when you want to stand it up, and it really doesn't protect the device.

    I am so so sorry I bought this case. It falls off all the time. It doesn't make a stable stand. It was a real waste of my money. Its a shame a company that makes a wonderful product like iPad makes such awful cases!

    My iPad Smart Cover lasted all of five minutes. It just doesn't stay on with the magnets. Would not recommend buying. Now I have to go spend more $$$ on something else. boo!

    Good aesthetics, bad performance on long term

    Looks and feels really nice on touch. Protects the iPad screen. Pros: wake/sleep on iPad opened/closed. Cons: after a few months starts to lose magnetic properties & less than one year doesn't stay on the screen if iPad's turned on the side or with the screen down.

    Opinion in Pink

    I bought this cover when I bought my iPad 2 and it's done the job for me as much as expected. I leave the case on my iPad as an extra screen protector when it.s in my zipper case. There will always be bad reviews of every product but none of the products out there are perfect, each has their flaws but I would say I'm happy with my pink smart cover and that it's a beautiful true pink!

    The cover easily disengages from the iPad. It isn't sturdy or comfortable in any way. I think I'll try the new smart sleeve instead.

    iPad smart case

    What an awful design, I have an ipad2 and it's comfortable to hold either out of its case or in a Belkin case that a got when I first bought the iPad (the original smart cover fits with the Belkin case)

    This new case is horrible to hold, there is a mould line around the edge that pushes into your fingers making it unbearable.

    How can the designers of iPod, iPhone, MacBook, iMac, iPad, and even the original smart cover release this? Steve Jobs must be Turing in his grave.

    when my dad gave my his new ipad i was really excited.......untill i put the case on it didn't really proctect the WHOLE ipad.a screen a screen saver works beter acullay. mine also scrached up really easy.....sorry apple but wasn't your best prodect. ps. even my dad wast to impresed with his either . pps. they fall off really easy...

    The cover doesn't fall off and does its job protecting the screen and propping the iPad up when I need it to. The only problem with this cover is that it gets dirty easily. Through normal use it had accumulated a few black marks from various surfaces, and I guess the cover is thoroughly stained. Try as I might, I can't get the marks off.

    I don't think there's any way to get around this unless you never use the cover or get the black one. Most of the other colors are pretty light and would probably stain easily. Personally, I just don't like my cover looking cruddy. If I could do it all over again, I probably wouldn't get this color.

    So I bought this cover because I needed my IPad to stand up. So I bought it and now I'm in love with it! It is so easy to use and it came in my favorite color. It makes things so much easier to type and it offers more protection. Although it does not provide much protection for the back, I am more worried about the front since it is glass. It hasn't ripped or gotten dirty at all yet and I've had it for quite a while. Love it!!!!

    Smart Cover is not compatable with the iPad3!! Don't beleive Apple

    I had an iPad2 with the Smart Cover and loved it. I just bought a new iPad3 and a new smart cover. The cover keeps falling off with little pressure and does not even stay in place if you were to use it as a kickstand. I tried my old smart cover and still had the problem. The reason is that in the new iPad the magnetic strip is about 3 times smaller than the iPad2 making it a weak connection. I extremely advice all not to purchase the Smart Cover for the iPad3 look to logitech, they have it figured out.
