The Smart Cover improves the iPad experience. Definitely worth the investment.

For what this case is designed to do it is wonderful. People expect too much of it but for what it is designed to do it works great. It isn't too flimsy and it protects the screen.

This one is great. I've read reviews that the leather one can stretch over time, but with this one it doesn't seem to be the case (no pun intended).

When SJ announced this when IPad2 came out I thot he was a mind reader. I love the thinness of iPad but u do need to protect the glass. But wrapping it in something thick is ridiculous. This solves the problem - protects the glass and preserves the small size. The back is aluminum so its very tough so not covering that is no big deal. Plus the back of an iPad is beautiful - why cover it up!? And of course the whole way the cover works is just cool.

My only advice is get a very dark color. I got a red leather one and if it gets stained its hard to clean stained leather (not an Apple problem its just the way leather is). So i got a black one and stains are not a problem. I suppose the grey one might be good for dirt as well.

Can't imagine my iPad without this cover. Also i was able to move my black one over to my 3rd gen iPad with no problem.

I agree with Christopher S from Burlington, this is a great cover, it is not a case. I have not had any mechanical problems whatsoever; it works as promised. As added protection you can purchase from Incase a neoprene sleeve - it goes hand in hand.

Personally, I think this is a great cover. If you have half a brain, you realize by the name this is a *cover*, not a *case*, which seems to be a reason for a lot of these poor ratings. If you want a case to fully protect your iPad, this is not what you're looking for. It's excellent for a quick glass protector, simple stand, and even a screen cleaner.

I'm rough on electronics, but this cover works great for my needs. When I store it I have the cover on, in my laptop bag, with the aluminum side against a soft wall (so not to scratch the iPad with other loose items).

I've never had any mechanical issue with the cover. It's stayed magnetized and haven't had any problem with the hinges. I only replaced it because I wanted the new dark gray over the blue which I purchased with the iPad 2 when it was first released.

First of all it's not a case it's a cover. It does what it's suppose to, protects the screen and looks good while doing. Is it worth $40.00 dollars? No,but if you buy a cheap imatation it does not last at all. I think it's an awesome cover!

The iPad 2 Smart Cover does everything it is advertised to do and it does it FLAWLESSLY. And contrary to what another user states on their review, this cover has never, ever put one single scratch on my iPad, so do not worry about that at all. In my experience, that claim is totally unfounded. And I pull off and put back on my smart cover often because I use the iPad charging dock. The cover goes on and comes off so pleasantly easy. It realigns perfectly and harmlessly every time.
I bought this cover 6 months ago, thinking I'd probably eventually "upgrade" to the leather smart cover when this one began to wear. 6 months later and my smart cover still looks and performs like new. And the polyurethane feels so good to the touch ... kind of like soft, brushed suede leather. The leather version sounds nice, but now I would never part with my polyurethane version (I have the light grey color which blends beautifully with the silver back metal of the iPad).

I love the "multi-use" screen cover. It's so helpful to have to have a fingerprint cleaner and a stand, all the magnet hasn't worn out and i've had it for 6 months. great product and worth the money.
