Reviews for iPad Smart Cover - Polyurethane - Dark Gray

It makes me crazy that so many reviews give one star for the cover not protecting the back. So, in case you can't tell from the description or pictures... THIS COVER IS MEANT TO PROTECT YOU SCREEN!

With that out of the way. The cover is quite stylish. You get to keep the original appeal of design while protecting the glass on your new toy. I have a folio cover that works great for protecting the front and back, but when I just want the minimal, this cover fits the bill nicely.

The sleep/wake features work great on iPad 2. I cannot vouch for the "new iPad". My folio does this as well, so I've grown accustomed to this. The magnets that hold the cover on do their job pretty well. Yes, it still pops off periodically when I don't intend it to. No, this has not caused me any trouble as I just pop it back on. It is infinitely faster when dealing with a cradle than something like a folio case.

Design is sharp. I can see where it might start cracking where it folds, but time will tell. Overall, it's a pretty good screen cover, though it does come with the "Apple Tax" that makes it overpriced for what it is. Still, if you want minimalism, this is the way to go.

This is great for turning the iPad on and off...but it needs a caution..If you have a pacemaker do not buy it. I found myself getting light-headed and had to quickly remove it and toss it out of working range. Eventually I gave it to my granddaughter so she could have fun with the magnets.

The smart cover is excellent. It's perfect in every single way except one - when the cover is folded to the back, it doesn't quite attach to the back itself. Very small caveat though. All in all, this is the best accessory Apple's ever released - it's even better than than the excellent iPhone bumper.

A shame that the good colours are reserved for the leather versions, though.

No it doesn't protect the back and it does come off ipad easily but users who complain should do some research before buying. I love mine. It makes propping my ipad for viewing movies or typing easy. I went to iskins and bought their case made to work with the smart cover. This eliminates the smart cover from coming off, it is extremely secure. My only problem with the smart cover is that it seems to wear out easily. I have only been using it for a week and a half and it is already starting to bend out of shape in one area that bends to support propping. Maybe I should have bought one of the leather ones instead of the polyurethane one? I'm happy enough with it that if another better case isn't made for the ipad 3 I will buy a leather one when this one is no longer usable.

I love the navy blue leather cover I purchased. It's like most things Apple produces; simple, attractive design that "just works". I also purchased a Belkin snap cover for the back which I am equally pleased with so far. The only reason I rated the smart cover 4 instead of 5 stars is due to the price. I think it should be about $20 cheaper.
