    BEWARE: STAINS

    I loved it in the beginning. Nice color, the deep rich red, one of my favorites then I slowly started to see my case stain red. I have a transparent frosty case on the back and the edges are stained red from this cover. And what is worst is that it takes a long time to happen. So you can't return it. About 2 to 3 months into having this case I noticed the effect, it's cumulative. Now I take it off if I'm wearing white, don't put it on my light sheet covers, or any white thing and definitely keep it out of my more expensive purses. I don't know what else it will stain. Just don't buy it.

    Cheeper is better in this case. Get the polyurethane and get a light color, less chances of color bleeding out.

    I'm really disappointed in apple.

    As much use as an apple Smart Cover!

    That's what I have replaced 'chocolate fire guard' or 'concrete parachute' with in my daily vernacular. Whilst my daughter was watching a movie using it as a stand she bumped the table lightly, the magnet failed and the ipad slipped off the table. Thank god we have accidental damage insurance...

    Red color rubbed off onto my iPad. Fortunately I had the invisible shield on my entire iPad so all I had to do was remove the old shield and install a new one but I had to pay to have it installed. Can't believe Apple would sell this cover. Very disappointed.

    Detaches too easily

    disconnected from my iPad 4 LTE, and poof! Hit the ground and screen shattered.

    This cover provides ZERO protection for a very expensive device.

    Case Falling Apart

    After a few months of use, the case started falling apart in its seams. It appears cheeply glued together. If you can, spend your $70 on another useless thing because sooner or later it will fall apart.

    The product may have been made for a good cause but is bad for white cuffs. It bleeds on to clothes and has spoilt several cuffs of mine.

    I will never buy another apple accessory. After market is the way to go. I really loved the red color. I bought a red back cover on amazon. The back cover looks great. The Apple Smart Cover looks terrible. I did not abuse it in any way but it looks funky in some areas. So disappointing,

    Don't buy the Smart Leather cover

    Very disappointed my leather Smart iPad cover came apart at the metal rod that was used as the magnet to hold it to the iPad. Less than six months of use. Extremely poor quality. Apple can surely do better. I would give this a 0 rating but the minimum stars is 1. It certainly is not worth a 1 star rating.

    Don't recommend

    The magnet of the leather cover is not stable, especially when it is folded to be used as a stand support.. I had my iPad 2 on the table watching a YouTube clip, suddenly the iPad was detached from the cover, flipped over, slid on the table, fell on the floor and the screen broke.
    God only knows how much it will cost me to replace the iPad screen!!!!!

    Inside out

    I initially thought the cover was a good idea but on further use I found that it came off alot easier than I would wish. The cover rolls up, the outer cover is on the inside of the roll while the interior of the cover which is suposed to be protecting the screen is exposed to grit and stuff as the stand. I will have to consider another option shortly.

    Awful- recall them all!

    The case is awful, and Ive only had it for a month or so. The magnetic stick on looses its stick on after a couple weeks. The sides of the case shreds easily. And it does not protect you iPad at all (looks only)! If you try to make it sit up it will fall and crash your iPad to the ground. This case made it so it cracked the shell of my iPad very badly and would cost a lot to repare it. Happily I bought a totally different case on eBay. Don't settle for this dumb cover. REFUND!

    Really disappointed in the quality of this cover

    It is made of very poor leather. it leaves stripe marks on the face of my new iPad and the leather is so weak, it doesn't stay in position when folded to raise the iPad for better viewing.

    Not what I expect from Apple! Their quality control is usually much better.

    So yesterday I've bought a brand new Red Smart Cover. Later that day i've got a small black spot in the center of the cover. So, after reading a lot of advices, took wet cloth and wiped a little bit. What do you know - now I have a BIG BLACK SPOT!!! This leather quality really awful. You just cannot clean off the real stain! Even using special leather cleaning sprays... That's a pity i've spent 88 bucks here in China and got this poor quality case...

    VERY dissappointed in this cover. Did NOT hold up to claims...falls off easily... I almost dropped my ipad while hanging on to it and the cover while working on it. It's also very expensive for how little protection it offers.

    Don't waste your money

    It will not protect your iPad as the regular case would. Magnet holders are very flimsy, keep getting detached. The only thing it does, is to shut/ wake up ipad. Do u really need to spend $69 for that? Just push the button yourself for free. C'mon Apple, not your type of product!

    I used this cover less than 2weeks.Very disappointed with the quality of the Red Cover., does not wear well at all. In addition, difficult typing with the cover,constantly slips. I returned the cover and look for a cover with better quality leather. The design of the cover lis good but the quality is not and does not do the new iPad HD justice

    Brand new iPad broken first day because of this cover...lesson for all

    Long time user of iPad.
    Bought a New iPad three days ago and this cover which was the only protection proposed in the Apple store.
    Back home. Configured new iPad. 10 minutes later. Grabbed the cover and the iPad fell off: screen broken!
    OK I will use my insurance.

    Cannot help to think how often this must happen....the right cover to ...brake your iPad....
    No warning from folks at Apple store or on the pack....
    If your are used, like me, to prior Apple casing....be alerted...tell everyone who handles this: the magnet does not hold the iPad!

    Apple: please warn your customers!

    Went back to Apple store...cannot be repaired by Apple. No replacement...
    I bought a new one and I am going to buy Apple stock...
