Just bought this product litterally 1hr ago on the assumption it would play all that I have on my phone (mirror as they say). I tried to get the saleperson to do a quick demo to verify that it would work as expected, but no luck, so back home troubleshooting, not enjoying, and now writing. I'm on a iPhone4, and although this unit supports the device as per this website, it clearly only supports "APPLE" verified APPS. Meaning, living here in Canada, there are a tremendous amount of streaming video available from the various networks via their own APPS. I've restarted, reset, rebooted, but I cannot get video from these at all as they don't have the special window that says "this video is playing on your TV", only sound. I also cannot get video from Safari. Of all the APPS I have that succesfully play video on my phone, only the Movies, Podcasts, Photos, and Music will actually play through the HDMI cable to my TV. I'm very disappointed as I was hoping to swap this out for my cable for a bit and save some money, seems that won't be the case. It does not actually "mirrror" your device, at least not mine, its seems the APPS have to be designed to accept the signal and push it out or our phones more likley are only designed to work between APPLE to APPLE products? AUGH. Don't even get me started on the new "MAPS" application they pushed out. Seems the past few months have been worse for users than ever before. Frustrating. To be Returned TOMORROW and I guess I'll just be happy watching ALL my stuff on my phone. I don't really feel like paying 50$ for something that only works for "some" and not all, that's not mirroring anyway.

i had this for many months for use with my ipad 2 and iphone 4. it was working until i updated my iphone 4 to ios 6.0.1, then it does not output display but only sound to TV. ipad 2 still on ios 6.0.0 works fine.

broken on ios6. lame. apple again losing luster

Excellent idea BUT, doen't work with Iphone 4 New software CONFIRMED. JUST AUDIO, NO VIDEO. what can i do now????

It didn't work with my Sony Bravia KLV-40NX500, on the other hand it worked with Samsung monitors

I kept getting this is product does not work with ipad message. Even charging did not worked. I am going to return this.

I was spooked from buying this based on the bad reviews. But I took the plunge anyway as I needed to mirror my ipad for presentations. For my experience, it just works. It mirrors EVERYTHING from videos, to photos, photo streams, ALL of my apps and even audio. Remember that it uses HDMI so one cable for video+audio.

So really, it works flawlessly.

I hooked it in to my iPad (3rd Generation), then my onkyo a/v receiver, turned it on and viola! It worked perfectly. Watched the first episode of Breaking Bad that I downloaded from iTunes!

I had first purchased this to use to connect our ipad to our tv. Had I done a little more reading I would have seen that it wasn't compatible with our ipad version. Then, I tried to plug it into my husband's iphone4. When I plugged it in the phone said not this accessory was not supported with my device. Great. I had all but given up when I decided to try my iphone. Plugged it in. worked just fine. Realized my husband's phone has never had a software update and mine has. Not sure if that was the difference but glad we tried.

bought one in Jan 12 for use with Ipad 2 - worked fine for about 2 months - mirrored, and very easy - BUT I upgraded to IOS 5, and afterwards got the message ' accessory not supported by ipad' - dismissing the message made no difference.
I have bought another one today ( in the box, not the bag - again, genuine Apple product) and got the same message.
After a 25 minute phone call with Apple Support, I am told that there is a software bug with IOS 5, which will hopefully be fixed with IOS 6 - is that helpful? Not really.
if you can get one that works, its a cracking gadget - unfortunately for me, its been a waste of £70, with a pretty poor excuse from Apple
