Dislike: Inconsistent HMDI connection from an iPhone 4 and worse from an iPad 2. The connection behaves as if there is a short in the cable... very frustrating! Returned the first purchase, because I thought the product may have been returned damaged; however, second purchase behaved exactly the same. I believe Apple should consider a redesign; great idea, but simply does not work well.

I was skeptical after reading negative reviews on this product using IOS 6, but knew there had to be a simple answer. You MUST restart an iPad on IOS6 before this adapter will work. After a restart, it works flawlessly, putting the home screen and everything else I tried up on the plasma TV, and porting sound to the TV's speakers. Videos fill the screen and look great.
It is not Apple's style to ignore a problem such as this, and they didn't. It took about a minute to figure it out and restart my iPad 2. Shame on you people who just plugged it it and had a tantrum because it didn't work instantly, just returned it and wrote a disgruntled review.
Must have never plugged in a different PC keyboard and had to restart for the computer to recognize it. Apple products spoil us with world-class ease of use!
Thanks for a great product. My only suggestion is to spell it out on the instructions that the restart needs to happen. Less returns and bad reviews, more happy customers.

I loved this product prior to upgrading to iOS6. It now does not work with my iPad (3rd Gen) or iPhone 4s. I do not recommend anyone buy it until Apple resolves these issues.

So I was given this adapter, which was awesome, however I assumed that it would mirror everything on the screen which it does not with certain apps ( purchased movies, Hulu, Netflix, etc). No big deal, because it still played the content I wanted with Netflix and Hulu. However, the movies I purchased wont play because they're protected..... All I want to do is have some buddies over, get high, watch casa de mi padre, have a few laughs, eat a ton, and pass out but Apple and Hollywood has betrayed my trust, ruined my plans, and have defiled the purpose of this adapter with its BS legal restrictions.

This cable is useless with IO6. A fix is needed.

Got this with my new iPad 3 with IOS 6 upgrade. Tried it for the first time tonight, worked for about 10 seconds and then the TV screen went black. Hope there is a fix soon.

I'm seriously disappointed I can't play my 1080p movies from my ipad to my 1080p HDTV plasma using the HDMI cable. This would have allowed me to play an ipad movie in all its HD glory when I visit my parents and mother-in-laws house too, but Im a graphics guy and playing 720 on a 1080 screen is unacceptable. I really dont want to lug around my blu-ray discs to get 1080p. The only solution is vudu service until apple fixes this 720 limitation, but vudu will only do 1080 if you have 9mbps wifi, not a problem at my parents house, but mother in law doesnt have fast enough internet to stream 1080p. My plea to apple and boycott is fix this limitation. Why should I waste money buying itunes 1080p movies if im limited to 720p playback when i use this HDMI cable to a 1080p HDTV. REGRET buying the cable, the best buy rep told me it would play 1080p since i have an ipad 3. :(

This little device works wonders with your new iPad! It will mirror just about anything you want your iPad to mirror. One of my apps even has 3-D TV viewing (which is really cool!). Many people CLAIM that this device doesn't work with iPhoto, but I am here to tell you that IT DOES! Those "foolish" people just didn't turn on the switch in the "in app" settings for iPhoto that allows TV mirroring.
Secondly, this device is perfect for high profile presenters. With keynote and this adapter, presentations are fun and easy to do in any class setting (whether you are a "lazy" PowerPoint History teacher who makes back to back notes or a high profile top notch Engineering Presenter). Also I recommend the keynote remote app alongside keynote if your also going to get this adapter. If you are thinking of getting this product, then I say GET IT!

I bought this to replace the AV cable version, but I now want to use it and when I plug it in, it states "Accessory not supported".

Bummer, waste of money and am on holiday with family and cannot plug into TV.

I'm not sure why others are having so many problems. I hooked by 3rd generation Ipad to my LG tv using the HDMI cable and it worked perfectly. The screen on my ipad transferred to the entire big screen on the tv when I watched a movie. You can pull up anything. I say it's a great product. Easy to set up. Just another great apple product.

Before dogging the product, make sure it's not something else if you have a problem.
