    Won't Work with IOS 8

    • Written by from Stuart

Actually this is for HDMI connection to a 30 pin iPad or iPhone, not as described as AV. When you look at the end view it is HDMI. Now, since I upgraded to IOS8 on both my iPad and iPhone, my Apple 30-pin adapter fails to work when I hook up to either my iPad or iPhone to my Epson projector. I get a message that "this accessory is not supported". I never had this issue before using my iPad 3.

Prior to IOS8 this was not a problem. I am sorry like a lot of other Apple users that we upgraded to IOS8. There were lots of bugs and this one has not yet been addressed. I would gladly roll back to IOS7 if I could to solve this problem. I see teachers and other heavy users of the iPad for presentations using Keynote are really upset that they did not know about this before upgrading to the new IOS. I hope that an Apple rep sees this note as I have tried without fail to either launch a complain via the Apple site or even call. The phone prompts only want to guide me to one of the major product areas and not provide help with an accessory.

    30-pin Digital AV Adaptor

    • Written by from Murfreesboro

Just bought it (2 weeks from order to delivery) and it simply does NOT work. My iPad, my iPhone, NOTHING !!! I've got an iPod, an iPad, and iPhone. What's the hype?? These devices are really second class devices (junk) once you really take a look at them. Their performance, usability, control, practically everything is second rate. I've learned my lesson and learned it well. Slowly but surely winging myself from ALL Apple products.

    NO help from apple!

    • Written by from Belleville

It says its not supported no matter how many times I connect it. I called Apple support and it was no help what so ever too. I just got the response: "look online". Do not even touch this product if you have anything older than the latest piece of plastic. I looked up the requirements and it said minimum of IOS 5.1 and that is what I'm running so whats the deal? and I have a device with the 30-pin. I am glad to see that I am not alone with this adapter. It's not even worth rating with stars but I have to in order to post.

    HDMI Adapter

    • Written by from TEMPLE

This is just.... the worst. Rarely works the first try. Magical touch required to operate properly. Sometimes I can press on the connection at the ipad and it *might* send the signal to the TV, but most of the time it's a no-go. I have never been so frustrated with technology as I have been with this wretched thing. Horrible, simply horrible.

    Another cripled Apple product

This will only play videos downloaded from iTunes. It will not play any other videos. Not even YouTube. Apple should have at least listed this in the specs.

AV Adapter useless on iOS 7.1.1 with IPAD 2

    • Written by from Kaunakakai

Until the upgrade, the AV adapter was working great!. Now we get a black screen and the TV puts out a MSG stating there is no connected device. Could you FIX the issue and send out an update to allow these adapters to work again. Apple products are not cheap, so we as consumers expect quality. FIX the problem at hand and please don't come back and tell us we need to purchase a newer adapter to correct this problem. That would be unacceptable!

    30 pin connector

    • Written by

I have upgraded my iPad to the latest pallet invention and of course as all of yo know, the 30 pin does not stream netflix. My wife never updated her phone from 2 changes ago, and the 30 pin ran netflix flawlessly! Looks like apple wis gonna return my money! I hate apple products!

    VERY DISAPPOINTED : (

    • Written by from Success

I was so excited when I received my adapter, so much so that my husband and I planned an all day netflix marathon when we were getting a foot of snow. We started using it and within minutes it would cut out or say that it's not supported. We were kinda bummed out thinking I had bought a bad one, so a few weeks later we got another one and it did the exact same thing. I am very disappointed and wish I could switch brands all together.

Stopped working after upgrading to 7.1.1

    • Written by from Dunbarton

This worked great until I updated to 7.1.1. Sometimes it cuts in and out like it has a short. I see the video for a second or two at a time, but then the screen goes black even though the video is still playing on the phone. It will also be working fine and then all of a sudden go to a blue screen with a message "Not Supported," yet the video is still playing on the phone. This was a very expensive adapter, which I've only had about 6 months. I visited an Apple Store and they were no help because it worked fine in the store, but that is PRECISELY THE PROBLEM. SOMETIMES IT WORKS AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T!!!! Please fix this!!!! I expect better from Apple.

Not at all Steve Jobs approved

    • Written by from San Diego

There is no way to fill your 16:9 screen with this. Totally unApple, per Steve Jobs like expectations. Totally disappointing. Will same happen for hdmi connector adapter for my last gen 17" mbp? Not sure I want to risk the funds.

For $40 I would have expected full use if my TV, not just 30%

    Does not work as advertised.

    • Written by from Berkeley

I tried the rca-out dongle first, and then returned it and tried the HDMI dongle, and neither one actually mirror what is on your screen. When I use a VGA-HDMI adapter on my laptop and plug it into my television, that works; it displays exactly whatever I play as if it were a duel monitor setup. With the iPhone / iPod the device only works with certain applications. iTunes, for instance, which is astoundingly picky about what precise resolution and framerate it will accept, and which format (MPEG4), so if you're trying to play an .mkv file on a third-party app, you're out of luck. It'll play on the device, but not route through the adapter. Unless you've got the time and technical know-how to convert your files to a friendly format in advance, do -not- rely on this product for "plug-and-play" convenience.
