There are a few reviews on here that say the adapter doesn't work with iOS 6. These reviews are INCORRECT. The adapter works fine with iOS 6.

    It Works Fine So Far

I've read a few reviews that made me worry, but I haven't experienced anything bad so far. It mirrors everything on my screen pretty well. It's cropped, but it mirrors everything. When I click on a youtube video, however, the video utilizes the entire screen. It works fine, but I'm hesitant to give it a full five stars because I haven't yet tried it with every program.

Works well on original iPad for video-out only

...because that is all it supports on original iPad, along with photo slideshows. I think Keynote supports it too but I never used it.

This is an awesome thing for the traveler because most hotel TVs now have HDMI ports. Unfortunately many hotels disable the ability to switch the TV's input source, hoping you'll spend $10 or so for a blurry lo-def old movie. If you can disconnect everything from the back of the TV aside from HDMI obviously, then it'll usually work. I also have the AV adapter for older sets with no HDMI, or where the HDMI is disabled; sometimes you can get a signal through the AV input. Some hotels like Aloft and some Westins have a box with all kinds of inputs but these are pretty hit-or-miss; at the Westin Atlanta airport, the HDMI did not work but the AV inputs did.

I was going to buy a refurb iPad 3, but now after reading reports that iOS 6 breaks video output I think I'll stick with the old one, which can't even run iOS 6, and video is about the only thing I use the iPad for anyway. If/when this problem is fixed then I'll replace it with an iPad 3, not the 4 or mini, no need to re-purchase two new video-out adapters or 30pin->Lightning adapters; just what I need, one more white expensive little thing to lose or forget in a hotel room... already spent enough on new power supplies.

Tricky at first, but great once we got it going

I had first purchased this to use to connect our ipad to our tv. Had I done a little more reading I would have seen that it wasn't compatible with our ipad version. Then, I tried to plug it into my husband's iphone4. When I plugged it in the phone said not this accessory was not supported with my device. Great. I had all but given up when I decided to try my iphone. Plugged it in. worked just fine. Realized my husband's phone has never had a software update and mine has. Not sure if that was the difference but glad we tried.

The digital AV adapter works great with iPad2, the only concern is that it is a little hard to remove, has to be wiggled left to right, does not slip in and out like the cable that charges it.

Hooked my iPad 3 to a Samsung P2770HD monitor, and there it is! Screen looks like my iPad!

It is a "snug" connection - a tiny bit hard to get out of the iPad3 - hope that it holds up as I do plan to plug it / unplug it, often.

Works great with iPhone 4S, loses 3G with HDMI connected

I imported some TV shows off of DVD and they look great on the 42" LCD TV, but I noticed that when it is connected to the HDMI out it loses its broadband connection. I have yet to try it while having it plugged into the charger and viewing streaming video to see if that is the issue. Overall it does what it says it will do.

Gets good reception. What I don't like about it is that it doesn't fit into the iPad very tight and the least little move of the iPad and it comes out.

I purchased this accessory for my new iPad 3. it works very well except for two glaring issues. The first issue another reviewer has already pointed out but it is very true; the problem is that no one told me that there were two buttons on the side that would allow me to take out the adapter with ease so for an entire week I was pulling on this thinking that I was about to break my iPad by pulling on it the connector. so I think it is very important like the other reviewer quoted that you need to have a notice that the purchaser can see right away that tells them about the two buttons on the side to disconnect it from the connector. The other issue may be something that the other people who haven't gotten this to work need to acknowledge. For some reason when I used a cheaper HDMI cable it did not work so when I exchanged it for another HDMI cable I had laying around that was much more expensive it did work I don't know why

    It's not the Adapter, it's iDevice/display compatibility

Reviewers who experience problems need to learn that HDMI is a flakey, frequently unstable interface for displays and other devices just as the first FireWire is, regardless of whether it's an Apple product or any other brand of cable, adapter, and device. The solution, beside having the latest iOS update, is making the connection as short and direct as possible as well as learning that you may have to "wake up" the display by reconnecting the cable (I installed a switch just to avoid that) or find out what works for you (power-cycle or switch between inputs on your display). The ultimate solution is to substitute another model or display/TV. If you take your device and adapter with the connecting cable into an Apple store it will most likely work fine with their equipment because they have selected the display or TV that they know works with the Pod, Phone, and Pad. Don't blame Apple for the incompatibility.

I have the new iPad and worked just fine. Just a pain because apples USB charging cable is so short. Why apple? We like cords to be at least 6ft!

I have the 1st Generation iPad it only works on watching movie and movie app (Netflix). All others won't send to TV some only get sound but no video (Photo won't work). Youtube OK.
I did updated the OS to 5.1

I use it on my iPhone 4S everything send to TV even playing games but will not show in FULL SCREEN.

Overall - I like it since I purchase this adapter mainly for watching the movie on TV. Picture quality depends on the movie itself. HD movies are great. I choose this adapter over the Apple TV because I use my iPad in different locations and all I need is to bring this adapter.
