    Works fine

    • Written by from Mobile

Some of the reported problems are probably "user issues." It worked fine with my iPhone4S mirroring Pandora and music, and then a YouTube video. Seems to do everything it is supposed to do. That said, there may be certain apps that have limitations, but I can stream ESPN video from my iPhone to a TV where I have no cable, but only a 3G+ cellular connection.

    Works as advertised.

Plugged it in and worked on my 4s and iPad 2. I am not sure what the others were complaining about. I has to turn the monitor off then back on when I plugged it in but I expected that.

AV adapter cable too short and stiff-keeps disconnecting

    • Written by from miami

nice idea BUT cable is too short and stiff and keeps disconnecting. even the vga connector has a longer more flexible cable. maybe you could make an extender to connect between the av connector and the ipad. by the way, bad placement of the power slot on bottom of ipad, not conducive to practical use. cannot comfortably hold/use ipad when relaxing. also possible fix for that is to make a power cable with wire coming out left or right side of the connection so we have flat surface of connector on bottom of ipad to rest it on. that would definitely reduce the number of cables that break or fray at that point.

Excellent but a little over priced

    • Written by from Easton

This is a very good adapter for students that have a flat screen tv in their room. At first it didn't work but after a little tweaking it worked perfectly. The downside of this adapter is that you not only do you have to spend $40 for the adapter but also another $20 for the HDMI cable. This is still very good for turning a 10 inch iPad screen into a 26 inch viewing area, but it will still be very great for larger tvs too. Hopefully in the future apple will have price cuts on this item.

    No 1080p video

    • Written by from Hurst

I'm seriously disappointed I can't play my 1080p movies from my ipad to my 1080p HDTV plasma using the HDMI cable. This would have allowed me to play an ipad movie in all its HD glory when I visit my parents and mother-in-laws house too, but Im a graphics guy and playing 720 on a 1080 screen is unacceptable. I really dont want to lug around my blu-ray discs to get 1080p. The only solution is vudu service until apple fixes this 720 limitation, but vudu will only do 1080 if you have 9mbps wifi, not a problem at my parents house, but mother in law doesnt have fast enough internet to stream 1080p. My plea to apple and boycott is fix this limitation. Why should I waste money buying itunes 1080p movies if im limited to 720p playback when i use this HDMI cable to a 1080p HDTV. REGRET buying the cable, the best buy rep told me it would play 1080p since i have an ipad 3. :(

Works Great for MLB AtBat 2012

    • Written by from Conway

I got this to watch baseball using the MLB at Bat 2012. It works great on my ipad3 and ipod touch 4. It mirrors everything on the ipad, but only those apps that allow it on the ipod touch. I can watch videos and certain apps only on the touch.

    Works great for me!

    cable sticks

    • Written by from El Paso

The digital AV adapter works great with iPad2, the only concern is that it is a little hard to remove, has to be wiggled left to right, does not slip in and out like the cable that charges it.

Constant "Accessory Not Supported" errors. Frustrating.

    • Written by from New Bern

At times this adapter actually works, but those times are rare. More often, the second I plug the adapter into my iPhone 4 or IPad 3, I get a message saying that the accessory is not up ported.

Why can't Apple make their own hardware compatible? Don't waste your money on this thing.

    Great Quality product

    • Written by from Toronto

I have to agree even though Apple products are expensive, they make durable and quality products. The video quality which I am getting to my TV with this adapter is stunning.

    Works for me quite well

Hooked my iPad 3 to a Samsung P2770HD monitor, and there it is! Screen looks like my iPad!

It is a "snug" connection - a tiny bit hard to get out of the iPad3 - hope that it holds up as I do plan to plug it / unplug it, often.

Took the connector out of the box, hooked via HDMI cable to port on Samsung tv, selected proper source and it works fine...tested with Netflix and other apps perfectly...and the connection to my iPad 2 was a nice snug fit...

DAV is Not Ready for Prime Time

    • Written by from Doylestown

My out of the box experience was poor. I tried the Digital AV Adapter on two different displays: Asus Monitor & Sony Bravia TV using an iPad3. The results were similar.

The display is not truly mirrored. The display is application specific and controlled by the application. The display and can be significantly different than the iPad display. I could not find anyway of controlling the output "mirror" with the iPad-3.

All issues I encountered appeared to be software issues.

HBO GO, MAX GO & SHO Anytime displays a screen on the HDMI display that says that they are sorry but the applications does not currently support HDMI display.

Netflix works the best but while a movie is playing the iPad3 shows a red "splash" screen while the movie plays on the HDMI display...not a true mirror.

Epix crashed the HDMI display. I was able to hear audio through the TV & monitor but no video with any application or main iPad3. Power cycling the iPad3 resolved the issue.

    this is bad

    • Written by from roberval

I hate it, it doesn't work. Go to the store and buy a wire to connect your computer to the tv. It's way more worth it. I hate apple. With everything.

    Buy the newest version.

    • Written by from Newark

I puchased a New iPad (iPad 3rd gen.) the week it was released. I decided a week later I needed the camera kit, digital AV adapter, and and extra charger. The digital AV adapter was posting an "not supported" message and after I dismissed the message it didn't work ( as the support page suggests). I was able to contact support after a 40min on and off call I asked if there might be a newer version ( the Apple support team member refered to my digital AV adapter as a 1st gen. model ). I went to an Apple store and they exchanged it no questions asked. Anyone in the market for this adapter should buy the one in the box not the one in the hanging bag. First its compatible with most devices, second the size of the 30 pin adapter is smaller than the previous which is good if like me you have your iPad in a Otterbox type case. Once you have the right one its smooth sailing. So get the right one.

Great idea but poor product with bad disign

    • Written by from San Gabriel

It is such a great idea that you could import all the images such as photos, movies, games from your ipad, iphone 4 to the much bigger screen (HDTV, or Vega TV). But the product itself is just poorly designed with very inferior quality. The connector with extremely short cable makes it very easy to fall off , and the the connector appear could not fit into the devices(ipad or iphone4). I have been trying several times unsuccessful. Conclusion, this is certainly defective design with very poor quality, Apple could easily makes it a better experience by imprving its design and quality. I am quite surprise this product could receive such high rating. But I have to admit that the concept of this product is super.

I followed the connection diagram on the package, and 30 seconds later i am watching the IPAD images on my HDTV via my HDM4 connection. Simple and quick!
