The iPhone 4 is a amazingly small and light phone, just too slippery. This bumper allows for some grip without too much change to the look and feel of the phone. Fits great. Solves the antenna issue. Still goes in and out of a pocket with ease. Works perfectly with the Arkon vent mount.

I've had the same bumper since January/12. It's finally worn out, the soft rubber has torn and it's time to be replaced. I think the durability is excellent. It's lasted longer than a lot of other cases I've had. It's protected the phone well from numerous drops, and I really like the minimal bulk and profile of the case. There are some very minor surface signs of wear in the aluminum band, but nothing beyond what would be expected for a device that is constantly being handled. I'm sorry to see that Apple hasn't designed one for the iPhone 5, which is on my wish list.

I bought a green bumper for my iPhone 4. I did not use it until a few weeks ago because I had another case, but then it broke. The bumper will scratch the steel band and cause black spots on it, and will offer no protection for the back or front of your phone. Also, this is just a piece of plastic, why Apple charges $29 for it is beyond me.

In my case, it proves to be sufficient as I also purchased a leather belt pouch from my wireless provider that also protects the phone when it's not in use.

Bumper is glossy plastic band surrounding phone edge, and soft rubber "lips" front and back to hold bumper in place on phone. After four months use, carrying phone in pants pocket, rubber lips are breaking up and separating from bumper. For $29.00, I would feel a reasonable life expectancy for this product should be on the order of two years. $29.00 should allow for both a high quality plastic bumper/rubber lips AND plenty of profit. Seems in this case, Apple is going for mostly profit. Not covering the back glass makes this bumper less bulky (Like), but the covers with continuous bumper and back cover seem to hold up much longer, providing more protection with slightly more bulk, and, in most stores, a lower price.

First I bought the White Bumper for my Black iPhone 4S because my Apple store didn't have black, but after a few days, the White bumper started looking terrible! I changed it for a Black bumper and this one is great, I put a screen protector on the front and back of the phone and now it looks great. Bumper Case + Screen protector= Best combo ever for iPhone 4S.

It's been many late nights of me getting in and out of my truck dropping my phone on the ground if i didn't have this bumper I would be one mad pupp

At first, the bumper is great. It does protect the phone as it provides a nice cushion along the edges. However, it starts to fall apart very quickly. I've already gone through two, and I am very gentle with my belongings. The edges thin and start to tear away quickly just from everyday use. I would recommend getting another cover, as this one just doesn't do the job for very long.

The bumper is beautiful and fits the PHONE well. As far as appearances and weight, it looks nicer and is much less bulky than other non-Apple options. Problem is, the rubber surrounding the charging port and the headphone jack is too thick to use any cables. So everytime I want to connect it to my car, I've got to remove the bumper. Then when someone calls, I've got to put the bumper back on the phone so that it won't drop the calls. The iPhone 4 was the first Apple product I was ever disappointed with and it appears that they are going to continue the same theme with their accessories for that product. Terribly disappointed with this item.
