I have had this case for 6 months now and it has kept my phone in excellent condition except for the fact that it does wear down the metal band around the iPhone. I have dropped my phone countless times and it has absolutely no scratches or damage of any kind besides the wearing of the metal band.

Works well and keeps phone from slipping out of your hands. The problem is that mine cracked and fell apart after 4 months of daily use. Plastic near charging port is weak. Not very durable.

neither do older usb cables. Thanks apple, you actually designed the case to NOT work with 3rd party head phones and your own old sync cable.
WASTE OF MONEY.

When I bought the iPhone bumper, I was nervous it wouldn't protect my whole iPhone. I was happy to know that I was wrong. The bumper protected my phone just as well if not better than other phone cases. It also let me see the sleek look of the phone that I really like. I didn't have any problems keeping my phone safe from shattering or anything like that. The case always kept my iPhone away from anything that could break or scratch it. It worked great...while I had it. There are only two problems with the bumper. First of all, if you ever plan on taking the bumper off your iPhone, expect to see some unrepairable scuff marks on the metal band. Also, surrounding the head phone jack is a different material. There's rubber, probably to keep you head phones from scratching when plugging them in. The only problem with this feature is that the rubber is not at all reinforced. I am pretty rough on my phone and drop it pretty often. The case was great protecting it from falls and scratches, but the bumper didn't hold up very long. The rubber section tore off the case and now it won't stay on my phone. I'm hoping I'll be able to exchange my bumper at the apple store for a new one for free because of this problem.

The iPhone 4 was my very first iPhone-- I waited in line at O Dark Thirty in front of my local Apple Store in eager anticipation. Once I got it, I paid for the bumper (later refunded) and even put on the protective film on both sides to keep it as pristine as possible. Less than a month of use, and I noticed the beautiful metal band around the phone was scratched to pieces because of the plastic bumper material. When I went back to the store, the associate said I needed to keep the interior of the bumper free of dust and particles. The only saving grace of this bumper is that once on, it looks like an organic part of the phone. The buttons look and feel good. Irony-- something that is supposed to protect the phone ended up scratching it up. HUGE FAIL APPLE.

It is a really sleek looking case for the phone especially if you want to show off the beauty of the phone, but not very sturdy. My daughter who is 1 squeezed it together and unfortunately it would not go back to shape even when placed back on the phone. for$ 30 it should be sturdy enough to with stand a 1 yr olds strength. Want buy another unless they go on sale they should only be at most $20 to purchase.

i take very good care of my phone and this bumper is ripping and starting to fall apart. good thing it was free because iI would have hated to pay for this and have it happen. do they have a guarantee with it even if it was free? would be nice

First, charging $30 for a piece of rubber should be a felony. That out of the way, this is the ideal "case" for those who like to travel light (i.e. me). I wanted a case that would keep the iPhone glass off [wet] surfaces and offer enough grip to prevent drops while not having too much grip to slide into a pocket. I have dropped the phone with no resulting damage, but those who are in the habit of playing catch with their phones should probably opt for something more substantial.

Major complaint: The openings are too small for many older and (surprise, surprise!) non-proprietary connectors, meaning I have to take the case off if I want to plug my phone into my car's iPod adapter. This is just wrong, cheap, fraudulent, underhanded, etc. Apple, if you want other companies to support your product, you have to learn how to play nice.

This case is horrible. It caused damage to the steel bezzle on my phone. I feel like i was totally screwed getting this case. My steel is ugly and screwed up now there the bumper rubbed off all the finish and scratched it up. Not happy! This case doesnt even deserve one star.
