I bought this for my Verizon iPhone and works perfect, it has not scratch my phone and fits perfect, no complaints at all.

I just bought a new revised Apple Bumper case, it is a lot better! It has a much larger opening in the dock connector to allow for 3rd party connectors, which is what some people like :) I must say after trying 13 different cases for the iPhone 4 (AT&T), I always come back to this one, the fit and finish on the Apple Bumper cases are far superior to anything out there, the only other case to come close in fit and finish is Speck’s Pixel HD cases, those are nice as well. After trying 13 different cases, those are the only two I would recommend :)

This case is great, if people have scratches on their iPhone, it is clearly because they are rough on the device and anything you are rough with with obtain scars. I have had this case on my iPhone for a month now and I have had zero problems with it.

I really don't know everyone is getting scratches on the metal band around the phone. I have had this case on my phone since last June, and after reading these reviews, I removed it to check. The phone still looks brand new. I have dropped my phone a couple of times and this case prevented any damage from occurring. I also have not had any problems with connecting the usb cable, or my Bose headphones. I also have not had any problem with the case coming apart. All in all this case protects my phone without adding bulk, looks great, all without hiding the amazing design of the iPhone 4. I highly recommend this case, and would by another one in a second if mine ever did start to come apart.

I've had the black bumper since July, and it's held up really well. The rubber edges and additional thickness make the phone less slippery and easier to handle securely. I've still managed to drop the device a couple times on smooth hard surfaces (no concrete yet, fingers crossed..) and neither the phone nor bumper show any damage, so the bumper seems to do its job. Pocket crud will slowly accumulate under the edges (just like any case), so every few weeks I'll take the bumper off and wipe it clean. I haven't noticed any of the scratching or deterioration some other reviewers speak of... not sure what they're doing to their poor phone. Overall I think it's a great product.

Given that advantage--and limitation, it is beautifully executed, and protects against side and corner impacts. The bumper is wider/thicker (front to back) than the phone, so the phone's front and back glass are kept a couple of millimeters away from surfaces on which you might set the phone.

I like the way soft edges help keep the phone in place on an inclined surface or on the dash of a car. It similarly helps keep the phone from falling out of a pocket, though that makes it harder to pocket and remove.

Caution: if you place your phone on a very rough concrete surface, surface irregularities in excess of a millimeter could make contact with the glass surfaces and scratch.

Some reviewers complain about "scratches" to the stainless edges of the phone when using the bumper. As with any case (MacBook Pro as well), if grit (e.g. at the beach--quartz is harder than steel) is allowed to accumulate between the bumper and the phone, it can grind against the covered surface. Periodically remove the bumper and clean it in detergent and water and dry. Wipe the edge and glass of the phone. Replace. If not, the matte surface of the stainless edge will be "burnished" shiny or scratched and thus marred. I've seen it on others' phones, but not mine with the inside of the bumper kept clean.

Improves secure handling of the phone. The iPhone 4 in the Bumper is the only phone I've never dropped, though I have knocked it off a table by the earbud wires onto concrete--no phone damage--though the impact site is visible on the bumper. Provides protection, but doesn't interfere with the silky feel of the screen. The surfaces in contact with the edges of the phone *do* need to be kept clean.

I bought two in black, but am still using my first one--since the iPhone 4 introduction. I prefer it to the bulkier skin that I had on my 3GS, which trapped grit and scratched the phone. That experience (and the same with my first MacBook Pro shell case) taught me to regularly clean the bumper-phone interface. I'm very happy with the iPhone 4 Bumper.

This bumper is GREAT! I must of dropped my phone 10 times since I've gotten it and my phone has been working like a champ ever since. I've had no problems with it since iPhone4 came out.

This case isn't going to protect the phone from a massive drop, but it gives you adequate protection in most instances. It's small and people sometimes ask me if I have a case because it fits the phone so well. If you take care good of you phone and a case is just for those rare times when you drop it, this is for you. If you drop your phone a lot, get a bigger case.

The big thing I love about this bumper is I can now carry my iPhone in my shirt pocket and not worry about it falling out if I lean over. Well, I guess if I stand on my head, it would fall out, but there is enough friction from the bumper to keep the iPhone in my pocket. So....gone is my pocket protector and all the pens and pencils I used to carry around. I'm a happy digital camper.
