Loved for about a year. Protects the phone without adding bulk making it fit easily in my pocket. After about a year it fell apart. For $30 it should last longer.

Seems to be a flaw in this product

I had one of these bumpers for about 6 months and ended up damaging the bumper (not the phone!) by dropping it. I liked it a lot so I ordered a new one. However, I cannot get the new bumper to seat properly over the sleep / wake button on top of the phone. The slightest pressure anywhere along the top of the bumper will activate this button. So, I'm going to try returning it and take my chances on a 2nd one - maybe they are not all defective. I really love it .... I hope I can get one that works. With this bumber and a good screen protector front and back, your iPhone is not only sleek but well protected.

I love the bumper, except that one can not use the phone to connect to a car mp3. However, it has already worn out, sides started separating after about a year. For $29 it should last longer. I dont suppose there is a warranty?

I got the black bumper as my first case for my iPhone 4S. It was great for the first two or three months, but after me taking it off time after time, the middle of the bottom broke in half.

If you don't take your case on and off constantly, it works fairly well.

It doesn't necessarily protect the back/front of the phone, but it does a good job of protecting the sides. It also provides a good grip, for both holding and sliding in and out of pockets.

I would recommend this case as a first case for iPhones, but not as anything else.

    Great but too pricy

Great at first, fits like a glove but doesn't last because you have to take it off to fit in the cradle every night so it breaks down, and the price is to high for want it is and how short it lasts.

May or may not be worth the money

The case was great the first couple of days using it, then the color started to fade and then I dropped it and it still broke my screen so its up to you whether or not you want this case. ( It only put a couple of scratches on the screen ). Otherwise, it is a good case. Doesn't fall off and doesn't lose its shape. Doesn't affect it's shape which is nice but may crack at the bottom. In the end, its still your choice.

Needs to be updated with better materials.

To put it in brief terms, this bumper does its job, but is not durable itself. It does protect the phone from falls (I dropped my phone in a parking lot once and it even SLID underneath another car....not once scratch on the iPhone itself!). Those who complain about the phone being scratched by the bumper should practice taking the phone out of it every night or so just to wipe any dust particles off of it. That being said, this will eventually lead to the bumper's hard plastic area around the 30-pin adapter to tear, ripping the soft rubber with it. I've had the bumper since October '11, and it started to tear like that maybe a month and a half ago (middle of February).

Apple needs to make a more durable hard plastic that can withstand the tension of being removed and put back on constantly. While keeping the price intact (that way maybe the value will actually match that steep $30 price point).

I upgraded from an iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4 in 2010, and I got this complementary bumper case for free at the time. A month ago, I upgraded from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S and started using this case with it.

    Pros:

    Stylish
Protects the sides of the phone
Increases reception on the iPhone 4

    Cons:

Leaves the front and back of the iPhone exposed completely
Covers the vibrate switch on iPhone 4S half way
Headphone and charger openings are made to fit cables like Apple-made cables
    Overpriced

    Design flaw

This bumper is the slimmest and the nicest looking bumper but each time you have to plug in to recharge or sync you have to take it off, because it does not allow the plug to lock in fully and it comes off enough to disconnect it due to the thickness. Taking it off everytime you recharge which is every day, the rubber eventually rips.

After use for less than a year, the bumper delaminated around the Home button with the top layer of the bumper coming detached from the rest of the bumper. Seems to be a design flaw as the exact same problem was experienced by a co-worker as well.

I purchased my bumper approximately 4 months ago, I love that it keeps my back glass slighty off of surfaces that may harm the glass. The colors selections were fun and a plenty, and I feel it has saved my phone many times from being broken. However, the coloring I chose (blue) stained soon after I bought the product, my face makeup included! I'll be looking for a new phone cover soon because of the discoloration, if Apple improves the materials it is made of I would buy it again though.

The case will only last you for at least 1 month

The bumper was probably one of the nicest and sleekest looking cases out there so I bought one myself. But it only lasted me for 1 month, the plastic part of the case had snapped in the bottom and I was upset so I bought another one because I did actually like it but the same thing happened again :(

Our bumper (green) looked so bad that I actually took it to the genus bar where they swapped it for us. Great customer service.

    Great look and handle but...

I used this case for a year on my iPhone 4, carried in my pocket.

The look is awesome but the case permanently scratched the metal band surrounding the phone, as well as the volume and sleep buttons. I always carried the phone in a very clean pocket so the matter remains in the bumper itself.

Apple needs to put a thin later of silicon or something around the entire inside of the case.

It's a svelte case. It scratches the metal band over time. The plastic falls apart after a year. All of these issues are very well documented, and I don't have much to add. I'd probably get another one if they weren't as expensive as they are.

It does protect the phone somewhat against drops, and it solves the antenna issue completely. On that alone, I was glad that I had one. Before it fell apart.

    Good and Bad

Though it saved my phone from a few falls it did scratch the antenna all up. It has scuffs pretty bad on all the corners.

They only last about 3 or 4 months before the middle plastic starts to break free. I noticed some audio cables couldn't fit into the hole cut out for the jack.

    WAYS TO IMPROVE IT.

Give the inner side a soft plastic or gem to prevent antenna scratches

Cut a bigger hole for the audio

and try to make it one continuous piece of plastic so the plastic doesn't rip off after pocket wear.

    bumper

I bought the bumper online shortly after the phone was released and was reimbursed due to the free bumper program. It has done a decent job for the year that I have owned it but I have some issues. Other aftermarket charging cables wont fit in the docking port once the bumper is on, making me have to remove the bumper to charge/syncing the phone.Initially, the bumper fits perfect and the buttons work great and I like the stylish looks. This stretches the bumper and tears away the rubber. This could be avoided if you only use apple accessories (which is probably the goal). I like the minimalist protection. The rubber does cause the phone to stick when attempting to pull it out of my pocket at times. I also utilize a invisible shield for total minimalist protection. Now that the rubber is almost completely torn, $30 sounds a little steep to replace. I will explore less expensive options that may offer other color options.

    Better in the beginning.

The bumper is really cool by concept and the location of the buttons are a perfect extension from the iphone; it offers minimal protection however and is even abrasive to the aluminum located on the outer rim of the iphone itself. Initially it snugly fits onto the iphone and feel like it was "made for it", but after just a few months of typical pocket wear - you'll find that the rubber is too soft and flimsy and will fall off the frame of the bumper. I'm glad the bumper was free or I would currently be very upset.
