    Best Product for me!

    • Written by from YOUNGSTOWN

I've tried others covers which I couldn't stand after a week, I found them to be bulky, hefty, and slippery plus I like to put my iPhone in a shirt pocket or pant pocket. I hate belt clips.

After 2 years of use on my iPhone 4, it finally needs replaced. I guess 29.00 is not a bad cost to protect a $600.00 phone. What I like the best about my bumper, is it STICKS to surfaces like glue including cloth. It's never slipped out of my shirt pocket and my friends are amazed when they compare their case to the bumper for slipping or sliding on a surfaces (including glass & paper) thats not absolutely horizontal. No wonder they need a bullet proof case! I also find my iPhone with the bumper far more lighter and compact with the bumper compared to the cases I've tried or seen being used by my friends. Note: In two years my iPhone has never been dropped!

I can understand why a woman would find the bumper not lasting very long being carried in today's purses (which are like small suit cases). The bumper would take a higher degree of abuse rubbing against so many other objects.

I believe the bumper is a highly effective product for the right use.

I LOVED it for the first 3 months until the rubber on top ripped. Didn't last very long.. Like I said only 3 months.

    Best iPhone accessory I've owned!

    • Written by from Columbus

First, let me say that this is only a bumper and NOT a case. Yes, it is used to protect the rim of the iPhone, but do not buy this thinking it is a case meant to protect against a 40 caliber bullet...or a 4 foot drop (Whichever comes first). This is simply a way to personalize your phone. The iPhone offers a slim and sleek design and this bumper helps maintain that appeal and yet adding a little more protection along the edges and rim of the iPhone with a plastic rim and rubberized raised edges. I purchased a front and back screen protector to go with the slim bumper that does not take away from the shine of the glass yet helps me feel better about the open space on the back of the phone and it getting scratched. Not only is it sleek and simple, but it also maintains the warranty of the iPhone since Apple makes this product. It slides in and out of your pocket easily as if the iPhone had no case. The rubber edges allow it to remain firm on a slick surface and also allow you to feel comfortable to lay the phone face down on the table due to its raised rim. One of my favorite parts is the fact that the volume and on/off buttons are covered with an attractive silver button that maintains the original appeal of the silver buttons of the iPhone. I say if you love your iPhone and want to take advantage of its slimness and sleekability (new word) than I dare you to purchase this bumper. You wont regret it!

    Bumperrrrzz

This case is pretty cool. It has a solid feel and I really dig it. It seems to protect the aluminum/ antenna very nicely. The only thing that's not that great about it is the price. I got this as a birthday present so I didn't spend a penny towards it but $30 is way too much for this piece of rubber and plastic.

    iphone bumper worth $29.99

    • Written by from Chattanooga

So to keep it simple and short I just had my iPhone 4s replace for the *2nd* time just two days ago. A brand new phone. I had suspected that my other phone replacement was not really a new one but a refurbished one because I had software issues with it pretty much 2 weeks later (without it being dropped). So my BRAND new phone, with a brand new sturdy bumper dropped about...four feet onto a paved sidewalk. The phone landed completely flat without anything touching it like a rock or stick and when I picked up my phone the entire back side was completely shattered. I mean...it looks like I abused my phone and took one of my 3" heels and stomped on it. Although it's entirely my fault, I could not believe that it was shattered on such a small drop and with a brand new bumper AND phone. So, I don't know what to say about the guard because I used to like it and now I am not so sure I do. It's up to you but $30 is not *that* cheap guys.

    Favorite Case

I love this case. Here's why: it is a bumper so most of the phone is still visible. Also, the buttons are still metal. The bumper wraps around the front and back of the phone so I can set it down without fearing it will get scratched. Finally, it provides enough protection to keep the phone safe. I dropped my phone with the bumper on. Although there are a few signs of the drop on the bumper, the phone it self is in pristine condition. I love this bumper. I was hesitant to buy it because people said it starts to look bad and scratch your phone - neither of which have happened to me.

    Iphone 4 Bumper

    • Written by from Wilmington

I am a minimalist when it comes to protective covers for the iPhone 4. I like the bumper design. It gives good protection if the phone is dropped, plus it leaves the beauty of the iPhone 4 intact for all to see. Also, I don't have an issue with the glass getting scratched. The bumper has raised edges that recess the glass about 3/32 of an inch. I don't like enclosing it in a case, or degrading the great display with protective film. I think a case and/or film defeats the purpose of purchasing a beautiful IPhone.
However, I do agree with one reviewer who said the bumper's rubber edge deteriorates over time. If, like me, you are constantly using a pocket to store your iPhone, then the rubber around the plastic frame will only last about a year before the rubber starts to dry out and tear. My wife's IPhone 4 bumper is now 20 months old and doing fine. I threw my bumper away after about 12 months. I have since cracked both the front and back displays and just recently replaced them both myself.
Lesson learned. After I finish writing this review, I am going to order another IPhone 4 Bumper just like I had before.

    Great product!

I bought this for my Verizon iPhone 4 and was very happy. I love the look and feel of it, and the buttons are very easy to access. It fits with the various docks and cables, so I was very pleased. I haven't had it long enough to tell if it has scratched the metal band like in other reviews, but so far I haven't been able to notice any. Besides the price of $30, it is fantastic. I love the feel and look and definitely reccomend it.

$30 for a case that falls apart

    • Written by from Aurora

While I initially liked the minimalism of this case, it has proven to be poorly constructed. Granted, it's probably a year-a-half old, but I expected better. The rubber edges have been separating from the plastic frame over time. While I have been super-gluing the case for months, it's time to toss it. Granted, I got the bumper for free via "Antennagate" but that's no excuse for poor construction. Just wanted to provide this review for those considering wasting $30.

    Worth every cent

    • Written by from Green Bay

Great example of the genius of Apple design. Harder plastic rim around the edge takes the brunt when you drop your iPhone and soft rubber rim on both sides protects glass on front and back more than you would ever imagine. My current Bumper shows very little wear after about a year except the tiny scratches on the corners from iPhone being dropped. The price is a bargain for what you get. My advice - buy the "Bumper" and don't look back.

    Great look poor quality

    • Written by from Jacksboro

Looks great but I've had myne about 6 months and the bottom is cracked and the rubber is comming off at the top where it touches the plastic next to the headphone port. And it also scratches the stainless steel... But other than that it's a great case:)

    Poor durability

    • Written by from New York

The major plus is that it is less intrusive in size than most iPhone cases which have a back.

HOWEVER, the average life expectancy of the bumper case before it falls apart in my hip pocket is at best 6 months. Thus $60 a year to replace makes this a very expense accessory.

May or may not be worth the money

    • Written by from Loveland

The case was great the first couple of days using it, then the color started to fade and then I dropped it and it still broke my screen so its up to you whether or not you want this case. ( It only put a couple of scratches on the screen ). Otherwise, it is a good case. Doesn't fall off and doesn't lose its shape. Doesn't affect it's shape which is nice but may crack at the bottom. In the end, its still your choice.

    Interesting

    • Written by from old greenwich

All in all, the case is realitvely good. It should probably protect your iPhone 4 or 4S from a drop 6 feet above concrete. HOWEVER, I would take it off EVERY night, when using it, just to make sure that it won't scratch your phone. A good case. That's all I can say, I would recommend it.

    Great Buy!

I have the white iPhone 4S, and just bought the green bumper from Apple. It's great. It fits perfectly, looks good, and doesn't really push up my screen protector. It's the best case I've had , for sure would recommend it

Needs to be updated with better materials.

    • Written by from Staten Island

To put it in brief terms, this bumper does its job, but is not durable itself. It does protect the phone from falls (I dropped my phone in a parking lot once and it even SLID underneath another car....not once scratch on the iPhone itself!). Those who complain about the phone being scratched by the bumper should practice taking the phone out of it every night or so just to wipe any dust particles off of it. That being said, this will eventually lead to the bumper's hard plastic area around the 30-pin adapter to tear, ripping the soft rubber with it. I've had the bumper since October '11, and it started to tear like that maybe a month and a half ago (middle of February).

Apple needs to make a more durable hard plastic that can withstand the tension of being removed and put back on constantly. While keeping the price intact (that way maybe the value will actually match that steep $30 price point).

    Ripped of $60

I bought a black bumper and a pink one, my black bumper got ripped apart, and the pink one got dirty within 3 days. I always take care of my iPhone but these bumpers seem like a waste of money
