Reviews for Apple iPhone 4 Bumper - Black

In picture the bumper looked great. It would protect that pretty steel bezel, and help absorb some shock while keeping glass off the floor when dropped. It does okay with drops but the case, which was confusing as it comes from apple themselves, doesn't fit perfecrly. Also, it scratched the steel edge in the corners. That is what killed it for me. My apple case scratched my apple iphone, not repairable.

I've had the black bumper since July, and it's held up really well. The rubber edges and additional thickness make the phone less slippery and easier to handle securely. I've still managed to drop the device a couple times on smooth hard surfaces (no concrete yet, fingers crossed..) and neither the phone nor bumper show any damage, so the bumper seems to do its job. Pocket crud will slowly accumulate under the edges (just like any case), so every few weeks I'll take the bumper off and wipe it clean. I haven't noticed any of the scratching or deterioration some other reviewers speak of... not sure what they're doing to their poor phone. Overall I think it's a great product.

I don't know what people are complaining about, this is a great case. It is exactly what it says....A BUMPER! It isn't going to cover the back, but you should really have a screen protector anyways and most of those come with a protector for the front as well as the back. One review said that that rubber was wearing and falling apart, I've had mine for 3 months and it's still perfect. It helps significantly with the antenna issue. The main reason I got it was because it was slim. I like the size of the iPhone and I wanted a case that sis the same, and this one does that. Excellent case!!

I bought this case from Verizon when I got my iphone, because I wanted something that was minimal and wouldn't make my phone bulky. This case is exactly that and surprisingly protects my phone very well. I've dropped it off of my desk and had it fall out of my pocket onto the driveway and the front and back glass were fine. I also like the new design because the headphone area doesn't stretch out when I take it off and put it back on. The only bad things about the case are that the headphone port is very small and most headphones won't fit into it and when dirt gets under the bumper it scratches the metal on the side of my phone. If you want a minimal case that protects, this is for you.

Get the black bumper on the white iPhone! It looks sick! White bumper on black phone is pimpin' as well!

I got the bumper just a few days more than six months ago and the plastic has already cracked. I'm very easy on my phone and the bumper has been removed no more than five times during that six months. The plastic around the charging port cracked out of no where. I didn't drop the phone or even pull on the bumper. I'll probably switch back to a regular case.

Nice fit and feel but has poor durability, mine has completely broken after moderate personal use. Overall disappointing. Needs to improve

I used this case for a good 6 months, it was the only case for an iPhone 4 at the time so it wasn't by choice that i used it. I'm glad that i did though, it protects the front and back glass and it looks sleek. I'm thinking about getting one in all of the colors.

It works well while it lasts. The opening for docking isn't compatible with any older cords (even apple brand accessories) for charging, which means I have to take the bumper off to use my car charger, or sync with my iMac (only the new skinny wall adapter fits into this bumper). As a result, after only a couple of months the bumper began ripping apart at the edges and eventually just totally disintegrated. Not worth $30, but the best option i've seen so far.

I had tried a few aftermarket cases for my Verizon iPhone but wasn't really happy with any of them. I was hesitant to throw another $30 down for another case but I have to say I'm really happy I did. It feels like a really good quality product, and I especially like how the power and volume buttons are built-in. I think this actually improves the design of the phone and makes it much more comfortable in hand and prevents it from sliding around when you lay it down in the car. I've only had it for about a week so I can't speak to how well it will hold up, but I haven't seen anything to make me think it won't. Overall i"m very satisfied.
