    Really not worth it

    • Written by from Philadelphia

Here's the deal: The case looks good, doesn't add much bulk, and works well with screen/back protectors. That's about all that's good with it. I do like this case but I have a lot of complaints.

    - Doesn't fit non-standard dock connectors (must remove case)
    - Doesn't fit larger headphone connectors (must remove case)
    - Ring/vibrate switch is really tough to get to unless you have long nails
    - Pressure on the bottom can silence the speakerphone/block microphone
    - Secondary microphone hole too small
    - Rubber on front and back is not durable at all -- mine was completely destroyed after 6 months of delicate use. The case now barely stays on.

Go for a case with more protection and higher build quality. This one doesn't cut it (even though it was free).

    Not impressed

    • Written by from Ajax

Overall, great look and feel (especially in white) but it isn't a very good case. It doesn't fit my Bose In-ear headphones because the hole is too small. The only headphones I that seem to fit for me are my Bose On-ear and the Apple pair that came with it.

Another thing, the case doesn't fit tight. So when you squeeze your iPhone when you hold it you can feel the case move which makes the case (and my phone for that matter) feel very cheap.

So two stars because it looks great and provides the protection needed (from damage and death grip) but it doesn't fit most headphones and feels cheap.

    Ok, but scratches your phone!

    • Written by from Martinez

I had hoped that when Apple made a case for the iphone, it wouldn't have the problems other cases have had in the past. Not so! Car auxiliary jacks can't fit...also, some older iPod USB's won't fit. Thus, I have to take the case on and off frequently and I can't use previous accessories. This soon leads to scratching of the metal antennae. Also, the rubber is starting to tear away from the bottom, and the hard plastic frame has cracked in 2 places. I have not been rough on this case, but it's pretty wimpy! It has kept my iPhone safe on a few falls on carpet and berber, but that's about it.

Causes indelible scratches to the edges

    • Written by from New Haven

This bumper case causes seemingly permanent scratches on the edges of the iPhone4. However, I haven't seen any case that retains the iPhone design like this one does. If you can live with the scratches, all well and good. I recommend you remove the case frequently for cleaning together with the iPhone. I just think it's annoying that the case made by Apple causes this sort of wear on the phone.

    Scratches the Anthena

    • Written by from VILLENEUVE D ASCQ

it's a nice case for the iPhone but unfortunately it scratches the steel anthena damaging your iPhone's beauty and i don't know if the scratching messes up with the signal.
Also you can't use the dock with the bumper on.
I obtained the bumper with the case program of Apple, so it was free, but if i would have payed for it i would be unsatisfied with the product. i hope Apple makes something about it.

    Would be excellent but...

    • Written by from Craigavon

...most of the accessories I've bought from Apple require you to take the bumper off and then put it back on when you're finished. Eventually this stretches the rubber making it looser and breaks the plastic part at the bottom. I've had mine for about 5 months now and will have to buy another. I like it but it's a pity Apple's own accessories don't take it into account.

    Ok but not worth it!

    • Written by from Marietta

So this product has some pros and some cons:
    Pros:
    1. I have the black one and the fact that apple gave them away free really makes it better.
    2. Its fits nicely around the phone where it is not too loose or too tight.
    3. The volume and lock buttons are metal so it resembles the actual phone nicely.
    4. The case maintains the shape of the phone to where it is still small unlike some cases that make it clunky.
    Cons:
    1. There is no back. When I got the case, I thought it would have a clear back like mine for the 3GS had. I was wrong.
    2. Not much protection. It is a thin piece of plastic lined with rubber.
    3. The price. This is my biggest issue with the case and if it didn't come free, I would of never boughten it. The look is nothing special and the price really puts a downer on it. $30 for this isn't worth it. Find another case or better yet buy one for half the price in a mall kiosk.

Alright, but gets worse the longer you use it.

    • Written by from Brooklyn

I loved the case when I got it, Fits great in your hand. I have been using it for a few months, and now I have skuff marks under the case on the band. Not coming off.
    I would avoid this case.

    Falling apart

    • Written by from Chino

I keep my phone in my pocket and it is ripping just from pulling it out. Not very sturdy.

    Decent while it lasted

    • Written by from Westminster

I've had my bumper for about 7 months and it is falling apart. The rubber around the edges is starting to rip off, which is likely due to me taking my phone out of my pocket (I'd consider that normal use). I like how minimalist it is, but I'm not buying any more of these at $30 when it only lasts a few months. At this rate 2 years of coverage would cost me 3 bumpers or $90 - not worth it.

    Ehhh

    • Written by from Ponchatoula

the case was very stylish and actually saved my phone a couple of times. But apple did a very bad job in making it compatible with non apple accessories. I was forced to use only the apple charger and headphones because the ports were so specific to there products.

    Disappointed

    • Written by from Middleburg Heights

This was a bumper I received free from Apple for the antenna problem. At this point it is useless. When I put it into my charger, the bottom of the bumper came loose and is just hanging there or getting caught on things. I am not using the charger cable, but rather a speaker/charger. Guess I have to replace it with something else already, and I haven't had it that long.

    Stretches

    • Written by from Ames

I had this bumper for about two months before it got destroyed by my dog. Not Apples fault obviously. Anyways, I dock my phone every night in the iPhone 4 dock. The iPhone 4 doesn't fit when it has the bumper on, so I would have to take it off every night, or whenever I needed to charge my phone. The rubber got to a point where it would not fit tightly on the phone anymore, and just fall off. It looked good, and works well as long as you keep it on the phone at all times and have no intent on taking it off often.

Only select headphones can be used

    • Written by from New york

The inner-lining is hard plastic. You may want to use tape to go over it in case you're afraid of it scratching the metal. The thing you need to watch out for is the headphone hole. Unless your TRS connector goes straight down like the low-quality, stock headphones, you won't be able to use this. It won't let you push it all the way down.

Scratches the steel band on the iPhone 4

    • Written by from mnijpasd

Hardly have had this for a month and it already scratched the steel band near the mute switch...really disappointing wish the bumper was made out of some mat finish material rather than plastic...

    Not compatible with many chargers

    • Written by from Cheshire

This is not compatible with many non-apple chargers, including accessories made by apple partners. The bumper opening is too small except for the standard apple chargers.

    Not strong at all

    • Written by from Newburgh

It is a really sleek looking case for the phone especially if you want to show off the beauty of the phone, but not very sturdy. My daughter who is 1 squeezed it together and unfortunately it would not go back to shape even when placed back on the phone. for$ 30 it should be sturdy enough to with stand a 1 yr olds strength. Want buy another unless they go on sale they should only be at most $20 to purchase.

Only good for 2 or 3 months

    • Written by from Senatobia

This bumper was a great idea to be able to cover the sides and still show off the phone, but after 3 months the rubber is starting to strech and tear. Not worth the $30 that it costs.

    Looks good, doesn't work well.

    • Written by from Van Alstyne

In picture the bumper looked great. It would protect that pretty steel bezel, and help absorb some shock while keeping glass off the floor when dropped. It does okay with drops but the case, which was confusing as it comes from apple themselves, doesn't fit perfecrly. Also, it scratched the steel edge in the corners. That is what killed it for me. My apple case scratched my apple iphone, not repairable.
