    Apple HDMI

    • Written by from Jackson

I had purchased some HDMI cables at Radio Shack in the Fall and haven't really been pleased with them since. I didn't know Apple manufactured HDMI cables until I noticed them browsing the Apple retail store. I purchased two; came home and swapped out the two I bought at Radio Shack. I have one running to my Motorola DVR, and one running to my Apple TV. Both work great and have had no issues with either of them, & 1080p looks amazing.

    1xHDMI<$10=M0R017

    • Written by from west sacramento

Thats right... If you spend more than ten dollars on a Standards compliant 1.2, 1.3a, or 1.4 HDMI cable perhaps. Also The ambiguity of said cable regarding, said standard, is quite puzzling. HHigh definition sounds great, however it is quite ambiguous. No mention of standards compliance, speed, or material is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor, go spend 5 bucks on a standards compliant 1.4 hdmi cable to guard against the future. Also thin wires are almost never better, Shielding is your friend.

    Amazing quality!

    • Written by from San Angelo

I recently received Apple TV for Christmas and my mom was kind enough to buy the Apple HDMI cable to go along with it. Not only was it super easy and fast to hook up, the picture has been amazing! I have watched purchased movies and rented movies from iTunes and it has been as clear as the two expensive HDMI cables that I bought with my other electronics.

I will probably buy a few of these to replace the other ones because it really is that great! Less bulk, better picture....can't ask for more!

I've had this cable wired from my blu ray player to my HDTV, for about two weeks now, and it works just great. It's not bulky, just the right length and the quality of the image is amazing, what more to ask from a HDMI cable??!! I haven't had any problems with it, you've just got to love Apple products!! ♥

    Super sleek!

    • Written by from Escondido

This cable is thiner than most other HDMI cables, while performing just as well. This sleek design provides for great flexibility when installing and routing the cable. In addition, the fit of the plug ends is a little snugger than my other HDMI cables, so that the plug ends are less prone to inadvertently slip out of the HDMI sockets. Highly recommended!

    It is an HDMI cable.

    • Written by from TENAFLY

It, like all other HDMI cables, excels at being an HDMI cable.

Note that the only criterion all HDMI cables must meet before they can be said to "excel" as HDMI cables is that they must transmit an image from the output source to the input source. HDMI is a digital format so the signal either gets there or it doesn't - and if it doesn't, the cable fails to excel in its chosen field.

These are the only two classes for HDMI cables. Apple's falls into the first "excellent" class... but then again so do cables at a tenth of the price.

GREAT CABLES THAT FUNCTION AS THEY SHOULD!!

    • Written by from Augusta

Reading these reviews, someone must hire people to write bad reviews-- there's nothing wrong with this HDMI cable!! I've had a few them for a very long time, and I also use them on multiple devices (AppleTV, PlayStation3, Xfinity X1). I love them because they are serve their purpose and they're not ornate. I own a TV with 1080p and a 120 refresh rate. Every time I buy new electronics for other rooms, I always run into Apple and purchase more. They've severed me well and I'm confident that they'll continue to do so.

Great... as far as HDMI cables go

    • Written by from Newmarket

There's not much picture quality variance with a digital HDMI cable, it's either perfect or it's nothing. That being said, I'm very happy with the overall build quality of this cable. Not only is it thinner and more flexible than almost any other HDMI cable I have used, but it also fits into the socket more snugly than most, meaning that it's not likely to slip out if your device is accidentally moved. Plus it looks a lot like Apple's charging cables (i.e. the nicest-looking HDMI cable I've used), not that it makes a big deal when it's plugged into the back of your Apple TV. And for $20, it's fairly similar in price to most 6ft cables so if you care about build quality, you can't really go wrong with this cable.

    Best Cable for the Cash

    • Written by from Lafayette

After trying many different cables from many different brands and at many different price points, I've found that Apple's $19 HMDI cables are the absolute best for our family in every way.

    1) They work with every device I've tried them with - other brands are hit-or-miss.
    2) They have never failed or malfunctioned like some brands I've tried, ever over several years' time.
    3) They are the lightest and most flexible cables I've ever used and feature very compact connectors (this is great if you're plugging them into something small like an AppleTV or Roku as those units tend to tip over when used with heavy cables).

Having discovered these, I've begun to replace all of our family's existing HMDi cables with Apple's and we couldn't be happier. Spend $5 on a cable and you'll have garbage that'll fail within a year - if it works at all. Spend $35 and you're just throwing money away. Spend $19 on Apple's and you've got a reliable, unobtrusive cable that will last you.

    Cheap Cable. No "Magic"

    • Written by from Ithaca

I recently spent $209 on a 2-ft long Monster cable, and I can tell you first hand that the picture quality is MUCH, MUCH better on the Monster. The colors are brighter, the contrast is breathtaking, and there's a "magic" there that I can't put my finger on that just doesn't happen with the Apple HDMI cable. This Apple cable takes the fun out of watching a masterpiece like "Dude, Where's My Car?" and more importantly, takes the sharpness out of its beautiful visual effects. What's more, ever since I connected this cable, Netflix has been recommending Matthew McConaughey movies for me, which is downright insulting.

Besides, the magneto-crystal impedance filter on my Monster cables removes all "noise" from the digital signal. The Gold-infused tri-coil voltammetric swing system in the HDMI adapter is also useful for guaranteeing the best quality picture.

Just kidding, this cable is worth every cent. And if $20 is too much, there are alternatives online for a fraction of the price that perform just as well.

Possible problems for streaming from Netflex

    • Written by from Greensboro

I used this HDMI cable ($19.00) for several months. However, while the picture was good enough for me, sound was OK also, the problem I kept having was frequent stops in reception, having to wait until data got through, and very often getting the message that I wasn't connected and should check my external connections. In response I went to the TV and either jiggled the HDMI cable or unplugged it and re-plugged it in order to get a movie started again. Was it Netflex's problem, or apple TV, or the HDMI cable. I went to Best Buy and bought a Monster HDMI cable and have had no streaming problems since. 'Nuff said!
