    Decent Cable But....

    • Written by from Palmer

I bought this cable in May of last year and after one summer of use the sound went out. I wasn't devastated because it didn't cost an arm an a leg but still I expected it to last a little longer.

    Nice, Basic HDMI Cable

    • Written by from Columbus AFB

Probably over-priced, but if you care but aesthetics, it has a clean look and functions well.

    Awesome product.

    • Written by from West Valley City

A perfect HDMI cable for an amazing price. I shopped around for HDMI cables today in my town, and the cheapest one was at Apple. It beat out other stores by $10-$50. I also don't see any difference in the signal from any other HDMI cable. I also like how sleek the cable is compared to other HDMI cables.

    Great HDMI Cable

    • Written by from Colorado Springs

I recently purchased this HDMI cable for the 720p Apple TV. When I purchased the new 1080p Apple TV I thought I needed a Monster HDMI cable that cost $99. I was wrong. I could see no difference. I returned the Monster HDMI cable the next day. The Apple HDMI cable performs well and the picture is excellent. I would recommend this cable if you decide to purchase the new 1080p Apple TV or any other HDMI device.

So thin! So cheap! So reliable!

    • Written by from Dayton

This is probably the cheapest product that Apple makes. A 1.8-meter HDMI cable for $19. Cheaper than most cables at Best Buy. Works perfectly, not a single glitch or skip in the audio or video signal.

Excellent Balance Between Cost, Audio/Video Quality, and Cable Length

    • Written by from Laurel

While it is possible to buy HDMI cables that claim to provide premium audio/video quality, they also charge a premium price. Many of these high-end cables cost as much as or even more than the Apple TV itself, and they do NOT provide an increase in audio/video quality that can be discerned by most human eyes/ears. Perhaps an electronics technician using an oscilloscope to compare the signals might be able to identify differences between various HDMI cables, but I would challenge anyone else to do so. The cord length is also ideal for most setups. Unlike what has been written in some other reviews, unless you are playing around with the cables an awful lot, this HDMI cable stays firmly connected. I frequently take my Apple TV to friends' houses and even the act of routinely disconnecting and reconnecting the device has had no negative impact on the secureness of the connection or the audio/video quality. I have one Apple TV that I bought with this cable and I am about to order another one.

    A fine HDMI cable

    • Written by from San Antonio

The widely varying reviews of this cable are hilarious. It's a perfectly fine HDMI cable, it doesn't disable Netflix, it IS HDCP compatible (how else would watching movies from the iTunes store work?) and it doesn't 'degrade the signal' because HDMI is a DIGITAL signal that gold-plating a cable can't enhance. In fact, Apple deserves a 5 star review on this for selling at a VERY reasonable $19 vs $80+ for the various cables that Best Buy and other retailers talk people into buying. I wanted an HDMI cable that delivered both functionally and visually and by far the Apple HDMI cable is the only one of the bunch that doesn't have a comparatively hideous connector and overly bulky cable. I would not recommend running this through your wall, but for plugging into your Apple TV next to the black power cable and a black ethernet cable, it's perfect.

    Travels well

    • Written by from Woodside

This is a great cable for the price! I love the small cable diameter as it has traveled all over the world with me. Never had a problem; it has worked 100% of the time and saved my sanity on many occasions.

P.S. It is the perfect length for walking my dog, but I haven't figured out how to mow the lawn with it yet :-)

Does it mow the lawn too? Or walk the dog?

    • Written by from Ballston Lake

Good product. Rating is for the size of the cord and over priced price tag. Not Gold Plated as well. You can get a cheaper one for $3 or $4 that'll last longer. $8 that has more protection on it to take a beating. These easily come loose from excess pulling and changing connections on tv's or monitors (excess = normal use, changing once a week or a few times a week between electronics). My cheaper cords still work and these don't. Do not waste your time with any cord or power adapter apple makes. They don't make them anyways, just have a contract to put there name on the product.

    Small and flexible

    • Written by from Rochester

For the same price as any other mid tier cable this has the smallest connector and best flexibility I’ve found in an HDMI cable.

I replaced cheaper but thicker cables with these in order to take stress off the connectors in my amp. The old cables were actually pushing my amp out the rack and putting a lot of pressure on the connectors and boards.

Video and audio are fine and I’ve had no connection problems of any kind.

    Typical product from Apple

    • Written by from Winnipeg

Ive had this cable for a while now connecting up my apple TV to my HDTV, works flawlessly. No problems at all. On another of my set ups I even have it plugged into a HK Receiver that is doing video switching. No cut outs, perfect sound. Not a single complaint here. I would highly recommend this product.

Love it, but White will be even better!

    • Written by from Palo Alto

I really like this cable. However two things can be improved for future versions

    1) Make it available on White too.
    2) More flexible will be nice
    3) A shorter and a longer version will be awesome

    4) It will be perfect if there is a direct version from iPAD 2 to HDMI.

    Great!

    • Written by from Holtwood

What can I say, It works great. Bought it with my Apple TV, No problems, screen flicker, or anything like that, sound is great, not bulky like most HDMI cables. I must say it was barely long enough. So be careful if it's too short for your TV set-up. (5' 11" for those who are not keen to metric)

Great Cheep cable works for everything!

    Apple HDMI

    • Written by from Jackson

I had purchased some HDMI cables at Radio Shack in the Fall and haven't really been pleased with them since. I didn't know Apple manufactured HDMI cables until I noticed them browsing the Apple retail store. I purchased two; came home and swapped out the two I bought at Radio Shack. I have one running to my Motorola DVR, and one running to my Apple TV. Both work great and have had no issues with either of them, & 1080p looks amazing.

    good light weight cable

    • Written by from San Diego

My other larger & heavier HDMI cables were actually lifting/titling the Apple TV2 off my table, so this is why I purchased Apple's cable.

I also an annoyed that it does not list which HDMI spec/version it is, but I plugged it into my PS3 and played a Blu-ray title and it pumped out 1080p just fine.

The cable may look thin & flimsy but it actually has a nice wrapping around it, such that it doesn't feel like it will snap anytime soon

I have had my other HDMI cable and ATV2 say to me 3 times, that the HDCP link was not supported, but this was when I was switching inputs rapidly on the remote, so I think its more of a firmware issue with the "handshake" that goes on with respect to the TV and software. I simply tried again and all was fine. I have not had the handshake issue with the this HDMI cable.

This is all the info I can tell you.
