I have used this case for several months i need something all ways dropping my phone and the otter boxes are too bulky and i kept shattering them so this one worked pretty well but as time went it wasn't as snug on the phone did not like the feel and i dropped while running an screen cracked it did not protect at all so it woks unless you drop pretty high or while running as you use it more the color starts to fade and it starts to get cracks in the case its too expensive

I'm not a big fan of cases on Apple products because they always ruin the aesthetics, bulking them up big time. But I bought a bumper because I felt I had to with the iPhone being almost all glass on the outside and I love the simplicity of the bumper's design. I've had mine for almost a year and it's performed very well. At night I remove the bumper so I can use my iPhone dock, so it's gone through hundreds of off/on movements and hasn't broken or loosened. After many accident-free months, my iPhone took a dive from waist height onto pavement. The iPhone came out unscathed. The same month I dropped it a second time (what's wrong with me?) and once again my iPhone is safe. I'm very happy and rather impressed that this little "case" does its job so well! I may buy a new one soon since I've dinged up my current one now. ;-)

(One star removed because $30 is steep for a ring of plastic and rubber.)

Pros: protective, it has prevented the phone from taking any damage due to drops.

Cons: the soft silicone fades into a pale grayish orange while the hard plastic remains nice and bright.

5 stars for functionality, 1 star for aesthetics.

I really like the bumper. I was tired of covering my iPhone in rubber and plastic bricks. I never really got to enjoy the feel of the phone. The bumper gives a little more grip and minimal drop protection. That is the tradeoff if you want to actually see and feel the phone. I don't have filthy hands so no discoloration issues here. If it provided a little more protection, aside from being able to lay it on a table without the glass touching, I would give 5 stars.

good protection without much bulk--this and a screen shield will prevent the majority of scratches and other damage. also adds just the right amount of grip; makes it less likely that you'll drop it, but still slides in and out of pockets easily. i'm rather butter-fingered and have a tendency to drop things, but so far this has done the trick.
HOWEVER: i've had this for twelve days and the softer rubber edges are already severely discoloured, particularly at the corners. i've tried wiping with a damp cloth and even a little dish detergent, but nothing has helped. it's unfortunate because this is a good product otherwise, but it already looks cheap and worn out. satisfied with the design but definitely not with the materials. if anyone has found a remedy for the discolouration, please let me know!

I have bought 3 of these bumpers since the first iphone 4 came out; green, orange, and black. Unless you are buying black, don't do it. The lighter colors get dirty and there's absolutely no way to clean them. I have tried scrubbing them until my fingers go numb and they just don't come clean. I don't know what kind of rubber they use for these but they need to change it. I gave it 3 stars because it does do the job!

I have an orange bumper. Nice, elegant looking protection. However, if you hold this little bit of plastic and rubber in your hand, it feels bad to think you paid more than a dollar for it. The outer rubbery portion soaked up any all all ink, dirt, etc and became ugly and discolored within a couple months. I've tried to clean it, but to no avail. It seems this is true of all the light colors- go with black.

The bumper does its job well and I haven't had a single problem with it falling off or getting in the way.

... But, and it's probably just a vanity thing, I really don't like the discoloration brought about by everyday use. I've only had it for a month and the color variation between the hard plastic and the rubber is quite drastic (I've even considered buying another case). It's not like I drop it all the time or roll it around in the dirt, it just seems to have gotten dirty somehow. No amount of scrubbing or cleaning has managed to get it clean, either.

Overall it's a great case and it lets you show off your iPhone, too. The discoloration is just annoying...

The bumper has become my favourite iPhone case, mainly because it protects the metal sides and prevents the front or back of the phone from touching a surface and getting scratched.

I have had the orange bumper for a few months now and the only disappointment is that the edges of the bumper discolour and get brownish very quickly, especially if you keep your phone in your jean pocket. As a result, my orange bumper has turned a very dark orange. I have tried cleaning with no result.

I recently purchased a blue bumper for a change because I still love this case.

Good fit: the top and side buttons fit. The bottom doesn't bother any of my 30pin connectors. The mute isn't centered and is hard to use with both a 4 and 4s.

Color: the orange is actually 2 diff colors. The sides are a candy orange that I wish covered the whole thing. I didn't notice the 2nd color while in the apple store. It started as an orange sherbert color and after a week of use, the corners are starting to darken grey/black. A coworker's green bumper case of 9 months is showing a similar issue.
