If I could give this product 3.5 stars I would.

Pros: Protects the phone from scratches, falls and it feels gripped and secure when holding the phone.
Cons: Kind of scuffs the metal, and after about 6 months it begins to wear out.

I personally enjoy this product, it has saved my phone in many a fall, and I enjoy how it feels when I am holding the phone. It is just a shame that I have to replace it so frequently.

First rule for phone protection, you want both rubber and plastic. The bumper isn't going to keep you from smashing the screen on a rock, but any normal knocking it off a table or whatever, never fear. I've had two bumpers now, just to change looks. I have the white one, and the white bumper with it looks really good. Reminds me of the 80s apple. But it gets dirty really easy so FYI. Don't bother with screen guard unless you wear rough jewelry, or are a bull in a china shop.

The first thing I had to do after getting the bumper was to buy a new USB car adapter. The old one did not fit anymore because the bumper is too narrow and thick around the part where you plug in the phone to charge it. Also, it isn't easy to put the bumper on or off. Once it's on you wanna leave it alone. And yes, it scratches the frame of the phone. I noticed this after I took the bumper of to clean it. On the bright side, It looks nice and it protects the buttons of the phone without reducing their functionality.

It scratches the metal on your phone, the soft rubber breaks off, it does not protect your phone!!

I bought my iphone 4 (white) and the white bumper together at the Apple store and am happy with the purchase. Although the bumper is overpriced, replacing the phone after damaging it would be worse, so from that perspective, it's worth it. Apple makes great stuff - usually overpriced but they don't seem to have trouble getting people to buy it (myself included). The white bumper looks custom on the white phone and gives it sturdy protection at a minimalist profile. I haven't noticed any scratches on the metal edges of the phone but then I don't remove the bumper - that's kinda the point- ya leave it on! I use the Apple accessories and cables and they all work and fit fine with the bumper. I guess if you have other mfg. accessories, its something to consider, but for the Apple purest, it works great. Makes my old Blackberry with it's rubber cover look like a Mack truck. - get the bumper.

I got the blue bumper at the same time I got my iPhone. I've had it for 7 months and absolutely no problems. No discoloration , hasn't gotten dirty, easy to put on and doesn't add bulk to the phone. I haven"t tried to remove it but I don't think it's scratched the antenna. Very easy to access all buttons on the phone. I only use the Apple connector and earbuds that came with the phone and they fit easily with the bumper on. I have Walkmeter on my phone and carry it almost daily on 5 & 6 mile walks - I love the secure grip the bumper provides while being comfortable at the same time The raised lip on both sides of the bumper protects the phone when laying it on a flat surface. Highly recommend

As I read the reviews I think people are complaining too much. The person at the Mac store taught me how to put my bumper on and take it off to keep from scratching the phone. Your phone will have scratches on it if you get crumbs or other dirt trapped between the bumper and the phone. This is true no matter what case you use...and I don't think any case will keep your phone 100% safe especially when you drop it. It's the risk you take when you buy this phone or any others like it, you have to be careful and treat this phone like it's your baby.

My bumper shows no signs of dirt on the outside though I do have a purse with a lining a pocket that it fits in perfectly.

As far as accessories, again, no different from other phones like Nokia or blackberry when you upgrade your phone you need to upgrade your accessories.


I love the bumper, it holds my phone in place and keeps it from sliding around on my dash just like the old rubber skin did. The best part of the bumper is that you can still see both sides of the phone which is a beautiful thing! My phone is an investment and has become my portable office so it's well worth the money I spent on it and my $29 bumper!

As soon as I purchased my iPhone 4 I bought the green bumber to go with it. Before I put the bumper on my iPhone I bought a full body screen protector set. After I applied the protector sheets over my phone I finally but the bumber on. The bumper looks great and feels comfortable in my hands. I dropped my phone off of my roof accidentally and my phone was completely fine! Not a single scratch. I am definitely a clutz and my bumper case has certainly protected my phone from certain destruction. It works. Worth it. :)
