    Works as Expected

Plugged into iphone 4s and instantly saw mirrorred image of my phone screen projected. Ran through several hour long presentations using keynote and worked perfectly. Plus, was smart enough NOT to project phone calls or text messages onto the projector during the presentation, only on the phone itself. Some complain of loosing the picture, the connector is a bit thick so you may have to remove protective case from phone, otherwise it will not fully "click" and connect.

Perfect accessory, it works with Ipad 2 perfectly, everything you see on your pad is visible on the projector screen or Smart Board. I am lecturer and it really helps a lot.

I used this to show my what was on my ipad2 in the classroom. It worked so well for about 4 days, and it shut down completely. This device does not live up to apple 's name. I request a refund.

I'm guessing the problems highlighted by other reviewers are for the original iPad. On my iPad 2, this product worked perfectly.

    It needs a longer cord

This works OK with my projector, but I have to set the iPad on top of the projector because the cord is too short. It needs to be at least 2 ft. long.

I just bought this on Saturday and today (Monday) I hooked up my ipad2 to the projector in my classroom and it worked! I was even able to play a video downloaded from Netflix! So excited to have this for my students!!! I was worried after reading the other reviews, but was told that with iOS5 this would work - and it did! I had already upgraded to iOS5. Thanks Apple!

I bought this for work to demo iPad 2 accessibilty of some in-house software over Citrix, and it worked like a champ. It mirrors the output from the iPad 2 exactly, and the output looked great on a projector.

iPhone 4S or an iPad 2 will Mirror all apps

This VGA connector mirrors everything when it is connected to a iPhone 4S or an iPad 2 running iOS 5. I knocked a star off becouse it does not charge while you are using it like the HDMI adapter does. I hope Apple will redesign this down the road

    disappointment: limited apps to mirror

I purchased the item hoping that it will mirror my iPhone 4 whatever apps opened. But it is a disappointment since the adapter limits itself to mirror photos and keynote presentation, so far i know. I still expect that it can mirror other productivity apps such as numbers, pages, safari and map so it can be really useful for me to purchase this $29 adapter.

This gadget does one thing very well, it disappoints. Spent four grueling days researching and preparing a keynote presentation on my Mac Pro. It was my intention to use my iPad2 connected to a projector's VGA input for my class presentation. It worked for a few minutes then the image disappeared. After several embarrassing minutes standing in front of my class, trying to make this thing work I stopped trying. Please fix this lousy gadget, or stop claiming that it was designed by Apple.

    A complete FAIL!!!

I used this adapter for nearly three weeks at work (a school, no less) mirroring everything from my Ipad2 to my students on a large 23" Samsung LCD. Suddenly, it stopped working and everytime I want to use it my Ipad displays a "This accesory not supported by Ipad" message, and I can now show NOTHING and the frustration is paramount among all of us. So what does Apple have to say about this? I expect a solution!

Professionals are using DMI and HDMI cables. What is the deal with going back to analog? Get us the adapter that will sync with LCD's, presentation projectors, etc... Seems very odd, maybe I just don't understand. Why you would limit your product to old school graphics?

BTW, causes LCD's to shimmer once and awhile.

I purchased this to allow me to show information from my iPad 2 onto the screen for my students to see. Based on the reviews I didn't expect much, but to my surprise it allowed everything to be projected. Games, grades, drawing programs, you name it... except movies bought from iTunes. I'm not happy with that, but this product was well worth the cost.

Haven't been able to get this thing to work on my iPad with *anything*, including Keynote. I already knew that the adapter wouldn't work outside of certain applications at the time of purchase.

The lack of instructions might be part of the whole "it just works" approach, but the flaw arises when "it doesn't work."

Very disappointed. Not giving up ... yet.

I didn't expect it to work too well after reading all of the poor reviews, but it looks like it doesn't work at all. What a fun surprise! Glad it was cheap.

This product is great and works exactly as advertised. There are several complaints on this page about it not mirroring the screen of the iPad. These complaints would be valid if Apple didn't say Video Mirroring Only Supported on the iPad 2, right underneath where it says what the package contains in the product description. People need to read the information that is there.

    VGA connector

I had just recently bought this device. I have an iPod touch 4th gen and an iPad 2. The via adapter automatically adjusts the video to the best quality the tv or projector can handle. The quality the adapter puts out is stunning for VGA. The iPad mirrors almost everything you can see. The iPod only puts out the video from YouTube and your iPods library. The iPod supported 720p at it's maximum. The iPad can support up to 1080p maximum. I also bought a 60 inch led tv, and the quality from the iPad looked great. Love this product. One thing apple could improve on in the next line up could be a VGA adapter with a digital audio output.
