    Yes, it works!

    • Written by from Tucson

I was a little unsure by reading a few other reviews. However, I tried it out on my iPad 2 and my optima projector, and had no difficulties viewing a ppt presentation through the slideshark app with all its animations, various websites through the safari browser, and even a video that I had converted and stored onto my iPad through iTunes. Would have given 5 stars but I though $29.99 was a little steep for an adaptor. Still, it works!

    It works great

The VGA dongle mirrors everything on an iPad2 and iPhone4s. So far I have Successfully tried with connections to a 55 inch TV and computer monitors. I haven't connected to a projector yet, but the success on the TV indicates that using a projector will work equally well.

    VGA Cord

    • Written by from Milwaukee

I use the VGA cord with the IPad2 that I have at school. When I use it with the new iPad is does not always connect. I am wondering if it is because of the new iPad being HD. If I do get it to connect I can not move it or it will not work again.

Love this adapter. I use my iPad and iPhone to present keynotes for class. Teachers are very well impressed. Super portable, goodbye desktops and laptops! If you need to play videos or any audio contact, use the HDMI adapter don't use the VGA.

    Does exactly what it should

    • Written by from portland

The reviews are misleading. When somone rates the product low, they are complaining about the limitations of their old devices. If you have a late model iPad or iPhone (I've tested both), this adapter is awesome. It allows you to show your iPhone screen on a monitor or projector or any other display with the VGA input. Videos, web sites, presentations, documents, photos...it all works flawlessly.

As long as you have an updated device, this cable is super cool.

Product works well but description is misleading.
The description states that you can watch video on your LCD projector with this connector. I tried to watch a TV show that I download on itunes and found out that this was not possible. I wasn't thinking this applied to video you have taken yourself. I am sorry that I purchased the show through my itunes. Only a kid wants to watch shows on a tiny screen. I’m very disappointed.
Also, only limited apps can be viewed.

    Useless for iTunes movies

    • Written by from Crockett

What's the point Apple?! I pay $400 for an iPhone 4s, buy movies LEGALLY on
ITunes, buy this adaptor from YOUR store. And it doesn't even output my movies to monitors! Please fix this NOW!

    good enough

    • Written by from Mckinney

This is good for displaying photos and videos on your IPod or IPhone 4's with a VGA compatible TV or projector but on the IPod and IPhone, you can only display photos and videos. On the IPad you can display practicly anything!! If you were going to get this item I'd recommend the composite adapter or the digital AV adapter W/ HDMI. also the plug sometimes disconnects on the slightest move for me.

    Works as advertised!

I know some r upset, but read carefully before buying. This will only mirror screen if u are using newest devices, but if u do, it's great and seamless. It only works with certain applications if u r running older devices.

I tried one out today and it worked just the way I hoped it would--everything on my iPad screen was projected. I tried several different apps and all ran without a problem. Keynote looked great, of course, but so did all of the non-Apple software.

    Works but w/o charging opportunity

    • Written by from Bad Dürrheim

The adapter works fine - I've used it quite often for presentations instead of carying around my Notebook. (five stars for this)

The huge disadvantge of the adapter is, that it does not allow charging of the iPAD while using the VGA adaptor. That means prior to using the iPAD for a presentation you have to ensure that it is fully loaded. (zero stars for this)

I don't understand why Apple has not build in a small USB port or a Dock connector to allow charging like they have done it with the HDMI Adapter....

    Great for iPad 2

    • Written by from Grant

This works great on iPad 2. As soon as you plug in, your iPad screen is on your TV. I could run most of my apps, but not all. We watched I am Legend last night on via my iPad 2 on our big screen TV. Looked better than my DVD player!

However, I bought this adapter when I had an iPad 1 and it did not work. I knew I would eventually get iPad 2 so kept it and am so glad I did!

Only wish...iPad remote control! Had to run to iPad by the TV to pause!

    Rubbish VGA cable

    • Written by from Co. Limerick

As a teacher and lecturer who loves my iPad i am so so disappointed with this rubbish cable which is good for nothing. Can not use it to display anything of use except photos and videos and a few junk apps. If it could mirror my writing and drawing apps my iPad could revolutionise my lessons! Such a shame. Also bad business as a lot of educators, teachers, etc would use otherwise.

It cannot always be securely attached

    • Written by from Radovljica

I have bought the VGA adapter with a single purpose in mind: to deliver Keynote presentations as a guest lecturer. I travel light with my iPad, the projector and VGA cable are supplied for me.
That was the idea. I turns out that the Apple VGA adapter can only be securely attached to a certain kind of VGA cables with the extra long screws. And these are few and far between. So most of the time I end up with the insecurely attached cable that occasionaly detaches during the presentation.
And this fact is CONSTANTLY DISTURBING MY WORKFLOW! Any proffesional will agree that giving presentations is all about concentrating on the subject and not thinking about the equipment. Attention to details, Apple?

I got this cord so that i could present a project in keynote that i did on my mac. I brought this cord to my school to present my project from my iPhone and it worked great! If you are looking for a Vga Adapter for your iPad, iPhone or iTouch, this is the best cord to get for $29.99 and Its worth the money.
