    Great but...

    I got the CCK with my iPad 2, I used it to download photos from my SD card, iPhone and from my camera, it worked great, I was so pleased with it until I went to download more pictures, it won't recognize that it is plugged in with anything now. However, I believe this is a problem with something that has possibly changed on my iPad and not the fault of the CCK. I still haven't found the problem yet though.

    Sandisk ultra 64GB problems

    The 64GB Sandisk works in my Sony DSC-RX100 camera. It also works downloading to my computer. My computer can down load photos to my ipad using itunes and/or sincios (download for free). However it does not work direct from the camera to the ipad, using the camera connection kit CCK. Neither does it work using the CCK SD memory card connector.Bought a 8GB other brand SD memory card. Problem fixed, both direct SD connection and the camara connection now works.

    Great Little Addition for my Ipad 2

    I read all the other review and figured I wasn't going to bother getting this considering all the negativity I was reading on how it didn't work with OS above 4.1. So i figured I'll go pick one up and give it a try, if it fails I'll return it.
    Well it worked great with a older model Nikon DSLR D-200. I hook everything up from camera to I Pad the turned power on the camera and within 5 minutes all the images appeared on the IPad. 303 images. Great investment. one note Make sure you camera support PTP transfers for USB.

    Flawless transfer

    Reading the reviews scared me into thinking this was going to be a disaster, but the transfer of 435 pictures to the iPad from an SD card worked so well I put them on two iPads in less than 5 minutes - no power drain and everything was just right. Have no fear! This is a miracle! And a breeze!

    Experience Using product

    I was unable to download movies from SONY Camcorder, I still do not know why. I used it with cannon camera and it worked perfectly. The idea is great but why it does not work with two different type of SONY Camcorders is unknown to me.

    USB works with Nikon D3100, card reader doesn't work with 64GB Sandisk

    The card reader component doesn't work with my Sandisk 64GB card, unlike the built in card reader on a Mac Air book. The USB component does work directly to my Nikon DSLR D3100 using the same card, but is deadly slow and when I shoot in both jpeg and RAW it will only import the jpegs. This is better than nothing, but only just. Not for serious camera users, probably ok for uploading point and shoot cameras.

    Ultra 64gb not compatible

    Ipad 3 is useless, I use a gopro 3 for video and the ipad 3 cannot read a 64gb micro SDXC disk from Sandisk. Apple get your so called great company together and provide an update.

    Works seamlessly

    I have a Nikon D600 and a Nikon V1.. I shoot RAW with a wide selection of cards. Lexar Pro, Sandisk, Panasonic with varied sizes and speeds. I have an iPad 2 and iPad mini which I plan to use to save my images on while travelling and then upload to my iMac when I get home.

    After reading all the bad reviews I was having seconds thoughts about this product. As a long term Apple junkie I had to give it a try. Well, I used every card I have in each camera with both the card reader and USB connector and it worked just as smooth as silk and all images loaded on to the iPad 2 without any problems.

    My next concern was would the RAW images transfer from the iPad to the IMac intact or would they convert to jpeg. The RAW transferred over without issue and I am happily editing.

    I liked this product so much that I bought the connector for the IPad mini the next day.

    Apple has never let me down on any product and I have them all. My only negative comment about Apple is .... What's going on with your stock price? We miss you Steve.

    I've got two Nikon cameras, a DSL and a point and shoot. I simply attach the ipad connection kit to my ipad then remove the memory card from the camera and place it into the connection kit and woola! The pictures upload to my ipad. Yes that ez never had a problem, so I would recommend this item.

    Who to blame?

    Got a camera kit to read in files off my brand new Sony PJ380 camcorder. Works fine using USB connection and the internal 16 GB of flash. However, wanted to use my 64 Gbyte SDXC card. Sony did not like the format card was originally, so I reformatted in the camcorder. This changed the card to have a 64 gb ExFAT partion. Thereafter, neither the USB or SD card reader worked.Going to try multiple FAT partitions to see if I can get something to work.

    I figure Apple should support ExFAT on the iPad, but I suppose I could blame Sony...

    had to reformat

    I first used this product and everything worked fine with my 32gb memory card. I updated to 6.1 and it stopped being recognized. i did reformat the card in my camera (Canon 60D) and it was again recognized by my Ipad 3.. People are so quick to blame apple, when if you take the time, things do actually work.

    Does not work

    I can connect my Canon T4i to it, and the iPad recognizes it. When I click Import All, the camera lights up and the iPad seems to be importing. But the end result is a exclamation point (!), and the photo is not uploaded.

    I'm not sure if it's the SD card? I'm using a Sandisk 32 Gb Class 10 card. Or maybe there's just a bug between the iPad and the camera?

    Not for Hero3 or SDXC

    Cannot connect camera because it draws too much power.
    Cannot read SD card because of the format Hero3 requires.
    I can still use it as a usb midi interface, so it gets 2 stars.

    SDXC Cards

    Using the SDXC card directly in this device did not work for me (exFAT format) but using it through my camera with the camera set to MTP (or PTP) mode and it worked like a champ. Using the standard storage mode did NOT work on my Olympus OM-D M-5.

    Formatting with exFAT is for high capacity cards like mine, 64GB and for speed. Makes no sense to use SDXC with FAT.

    Does not work with my new equipment

    I have the new GoPro Hero Black HD camera with a top of the line Ultra 64GB Micro SD XC and it says "Cannot read the connected storage media". I found an old old 1GB SD card in the bottom of a junk drawer, plugged it in and it works great! So from my experience it only works with old technology, not new technology. My little backup drive and my GoPro it says "The attached accessory uses too much power". So I can old use it if I have old equipment I suppose. I want a refund as its useless for me.

    Useless with modern SDs

    Since modern SDXC cards come formatted in ExFAT, this whole kit becomes completely useless: you can't connect a camera via USB, because it (the camera) also gets charged via USB, so iPad will simply disable the port altogether ("Accessory draws too much power" or something to that effect), and you can't plug the SDXC directly, because iPad apparently can't read ExFAT formatted drives.

    ExFAT is the default file system for SDXC for its higher performance features and larger maximum file size supported than the older FAT16 or even FAT32. New HD cameras can't work properly with flash drives formatted in FAT32 (example - GoPro Hero3 Black Edition with ProTune on, or at super-HD resolutions, like 2.7k or 4k), so you have to use ExFAT... Which makes it impossible to preview the footage on an iPad, using this kit.

    Works very well

    I purchased the camera connection kit for my iPad 2 and couldn't be more pleased. I took several test photos with my T3i, plugged the SD card into the adapter and into the iPad. It was immediately recognized, brought up the photos and gave options for importing or deleting. Once imported I could delete the photos from the card and it was ready to go back in the camera. This couldn't have been easier. It does exactly what I expected it to do.
    I haven't tried the USB adapter yet but that wasn't crucial for my needs. If that works well it will just be an added plus.
