Sd kit doesn't work with ios8

    • Written by from Raleigh

I loved my sd card connector for my iPad until I upgraded my system to ios8. If Apple has experienced this glitch with previous updates, why not address it before the update comes out??? Please fix ASAP. Some of us do have real cameras. Would give 4 stars, except you don't address this glitch when you know it is likely to happen!!

    Not that useful.

    • Written by from Coquitlam

It only supports upto SDHC so i can use my 16gb, but not 64gb sd card.

It is already becoming an old obsolete product.

Also for usb, i was expecting to connect usb drive or usb card reader. Neither worked.
My ipad said it's drawing too much power.

So, USB port is not that useful, as you can only connect camera and iphone only.

    I am still using IOS6

It doesn't support large or medium sized cameras!!????

    • Written by from gladstone

I bought the conector kit with high hopes that I could use my IPad to upload photos trough my Sony DHC-HX9V camera instead of having to use our slow dell home computer. But when I took the adapters out of the box I first tried the SD card unit, and it wasn't supported by my card, "because I had a memory stick pro duo type card" but the strange thing about that was that it fit sng into the adapter but when I plugged it in to the iPad it didn't respond. So then I tried the USB adapter, I plugged it in and it kept giving me a messge every time I tried coneting it saying that "too much power reqired"! And might I remind you that I don't have a giant DSLR camara or anything like that. I just have a medium sized compact type camara! A very common upper class one of today!! So I was very disappointed!!! But then I went online and they said that when iOS 4 had came out that they downgraded the power rating for exterly connected components. "WITCH IS VERY STUPID"!!!! And then later I tried another Sony camara that we have which is a smaller compact camara than mine, and I somehow was able to get trough. So what is this thing with power rating and "too much power" this is simply outrageous and Apple needs to fix it!!!! Plus those Camara adapter kits don't come cheap for two little components $30!! So all and all I am very disappointed and can't believe that a company like Apple would have such a software glitch!!......

    Experience Using product

    • Written by from Plantation

I was unable to download movies from SONY Camcorder, I still do not know why. I used it with cannon camera and it worked perfectly. The idea is great but why it does not work with two different type of SONY Camcorders is unknown to me.

USB works with Nikon D3100, card reader doesn't work with 64GB Sandisk

    • Written by from Oakland

The card reader component doesn't work with my Sandisk 64GB card, unlike the built in card reader on a Mac Air book. The USB component does work directly to my Nikon DSLR D3100 using the same card, but is deadly slow and when I shoot in both jpeg and RAW it will only import the jpegs. This is better than nothing, but only just. Not for serious camera users, probably ok for uploading point and shoot cameras.

    Not for Hero3 or SDXC

    • Written by from los angeles

Cannot connect camera because it draws too much power.
Cannot read SD card because of the format Hero3 requires.
I can still use it as a usb midi interface, so it gets 2 stars.

Does not work with my new equipment

    • Written by from Saginaw

I have the new GoPro Hero Black HD camera with a top of the line Ultra 64GB Micro SD XC and it says "Cannot read the connected storage media". I found an old old 1GB SD card in the bottom of a junk drawer, plugged it in and it works great! So from my experience it only works with old technology, not new technology. My little backup drive and my GoPro it says "The attached accessory uses too much power". So I can old use it if I have old equipment I suppose. I want a refund as its useless for me.

Not working with my Canon 350D nor my Olympus TG 620...

    • Written by from Barcelona

If I connect my Canon 350 to my iPad (3rd Gen, iOS 6.1) I got "device not supported".

If I connect my Olympus TG 620 (purchased today) I got "device uses too much power".

How comes? Am I doing anything wrong?

If I connect my iPhone 5, it works.

If I connect the SD card from my Olympus, it works. Cannot connect the Canon 350 card, as it uses Compact Flash.

    Please Apple fix this thing!

Works fine uploading to my iPad; but camera no longer recognizes it.

    • Written by from Temple Hills

I bought the adapter because I travel a lot. I didn't like waiting until I got home to download my pictures from my camera. My laptop is too heavy to lug around while taking pictures so I liked the fact that I could lighten my load with my iPad. The trouble came when I put the SD card back in my camera to take more pictures. My camera would no longer recognize the card. It also would not allow me to re-format it either. Essentially my SD card is now useless.

    Uh Really?

    • Written by from Tariffville

When I load pictures from the SD card that has been in the camera it works, but when I upload other photos to the SD card from my computer to transfer them it doesn't work. The same camera, same tag, same SD card. I was under the impression this would make uploading photos easier than syncing to iTunes. Not! Oh.. and the only idiot is one who answers a question without understanding the question first.

The most upredictable device I have seen.

    • Written by from Milpitas

Well I thought I can put my jpg's on my SD card and then I can import them to my ipad using the adaptor nice and easy. What's wrong with that thought?
Most weird: If I use an SD card that I have from one of my cameras then it seemed to read the files in ok. If I take the same SD and then I put some other jpgs then the ipad does not see those jpg. Sometimes it will import 3 out 30 some other times it will do nothing. I can read and write the very same card with the computer.. I even tried to leave the same directory structure the camera creates..
I think now apple started looking like windows. You do the same thing and you get different results every time.

HD video files won't download; Photos download fine

    • Written by from San Diego

HD video files were taken on a Sony Cybershot using a standard SD card won't download to new iPad 4 using the HD connection cord. The instructions imply that photos and videos will both download in Photos automatically and the video files will have a different icon, but only Photos download. I bought the iMovie app for iPad 4 and it doesn't identify or import the video files either. I would appreciate if Apple would give better instructions on video importing as it's not clear what application I should use to download video files. It is not intinuitive to use Photos to import movie files.

    Privia Digital Piano MIdi connection

    • Written by from Breinigsville

Purchased to connect keyboard to Ipad. Doesn't work for this. I saw You tube videos of this working, but haven't gotten anywhere. Can transfer photos ok and can connect Piano to my PC. But I wanted to use and I purchase the Piano Tutor app and Garage Band with the keyboard and it won't interface. I understand that the Ipad has midi support, but how can you use it if it doesn't interface?

OK but with some serious drawbacks

    • Written by from Towson

Generally functional but with several serious drawbacks
    1) It does not transfer all data from the memory card.. Videos of a certain length did not transfer as well as some photos. You need to do a 1 by 1 review.
    2) Most distressingly, if you choose the delete all option it will not only delete the photos that appear on the iPad but also everything on the memory card, including the videos and photos it did not import. Therefore, detach the camera or memory card from the iPad before selecting this option.

    Camera Connection Kit ( Working)

    • Written by from Lahore

i bought ipad camera connection kit basically for the purpose of easy transfer of video files and pics.
Out of two devices in the kit , device with USB slot is working properly and i can transfer pics from camera , iphone to ipad.

But the second device with the SD card slot is actually useless. It is not working with ipad or iphone provided i am using micro SDXC card which is compatible with my Mac and working properly with Mac.
If anyone has the knowledge about it or can help me regarding using (SD card slot device) in ipad camera kit please do post the solution.

SD Card reader has been useless

I purchased the kit mainly for the SD card reader and found it to be quite useless. Card is not recognized though it is properly formatted. Video format won't play though it was formatted for the iPad and .mov files don't even show up. I regret this purchase.

    Worked Once

    • Written by from Stansbury Park

I have the 3rd gen iPad with iOS 6, and this camera kit has only worked one time. Every time I plug in the USB adapter, with my camera connected, it always says "accessory not supported on iPad". The SD card adapter does not work either. Very disappointed in this product. Hope they can fix it.

    Upload only, not for viewing

    • Written by from Espoo

Connecting an SD card will show a preview of the pictures on the card. Unfortunately there is no way to view the pictures in full screen without importing the pics first. Would be useful to view without importing. A view feature would increase the rating to 4stars.

Havn't used the usb adapter for anything so the review is for the sd adapter only.

don't want to import, just view on SD card!

    • Written by from columbus

This work fine for importing, but I don't want to import just view from SD card. All these pics are going to eat up my memory on the iPad. I want to pop the card in, look at the pics FULL screen to preview. Then I can save them in a bigger drive elsewhere later. I can do this on my lame-o pc, why not this apple device?
