So easy to use, worked first time, import nice and easy, options to delete from Camera once imported. Only tried 720HD @ 50 fps, but this is the most common setting for action. Retina display is perfect and watching on the TV using Apple TV is great for family viewing. Tip, keep recordings short or edit first and post straight to Facebook.

    Very limited

Only works with a very limited number of products, even has problems identifying apple products. Micro sd adapters for example will not be recognised by the sd plug, most USB devices will also be unable to connect including apple products. None of my USB devices works with the USB plug. Ipad 3rd generation crashes or freezes for long periods while using any of these two devices. I find this another example of apples demise and out of touch with the wide range of products consumers use these days.

Not working with my Canon 350D nor my Olympus TG 620...

If I connect my Canon 350 to my iPad (3rd Gen, iOS 6.1) I got "device not supported".

If I connect my Olympus TG 620 (purchased today) I got "device uses too much power".

How comes? Am I doing anything wrong?

If I connect my iPhone 5, it works.

If I connect the SD card from my Olympus, it works. Cannot connect the Canon 350 card, as it uses Compact Flash.

    Please Apple fix this thing!

Works fine uploading to my iPad; but camera no longer recognizes it.

I bought the adapter because I travel a lot. I didn't like waiting until I got home to download my pictures from my camera. My laptop is too heavy to lug around while taking pictures so I liked the fact that I could lighten my load with my iPad. The trouble came when I put the SD card back in my camera to take more pictures. My camera would no longer recognize the card. It also would not allow me to re-format it either. Essentially my SD card is now useless.

When I load pictures from the SD card that has been in the camera it works, but when I upload other photos to the SD card from my computer to transfer them it doesn't work. The same camera, same tag, same SD card. I was under the impression this would make uploading photos easier than syncing to iTunes. Not! Oh.. and the only idiot is one who answers a question without understanding the question first.

I loooove the camera connection kit! It's so fast, and easy to use. I love putting my photos on my iPad instead of having to load them on my laptop. Once your photos on on your iPad, it makes it easy to post to Facebook or share with friends.

The most upredictable device I have seen.

Well I thought I can put my jpg's on my SD card and then I can import them to my ipad using the adaptor nice and easy. What's wrong with that thought?
Most weird: If I use an SD card that I have from one of my cameras then it seemed to read the files in ok. If I take the same SD and then I put some other jpgs then the ipad does not see those jpg. Sometimes it will import 3 out 30 some other times it will do nothing. I can read and write the very same card with the computer.. I even tried to leave the same directory structure the camera creates..
I think now apple started looking like windows. You do the same thing and you get different results every time.

Works perfectly with EOS 7D & 5D MKII

I plugged the USB adapter into my iPad2 (iOS 6.01), connected the USB cable and switched on my 7D. Almost immediately a preview of everything on the card popped up. I picked out what I wanted to transfer and it just worked! Repeated the same with my 5D2 with the same excellent results. Once onboard I could view, edit, email or upload to FB, etc. Wish there was a CF card reader for pro cameras but the wired connection works fine.

What a great device for travel and uploading images in the field or around town. I've read so many bad reviews I almost didn't buy this device but decided to give it a go, and I'm really glad I did. I assume Apple fixed earlier problems as the Camera Connection Kit just works: no special settings, delays or messin' around. I wish it worked with an iPhone as that sure would be handy for quick uploads on the run but I can settle for my iPad.

Love it! Bought it transfer pics to my ipad2 and that's what it does! Handy product when away from my desktop and want to dump pics off the camera or just to transfer them to use with iMovie app or photo apps.

Tried plugging my Canon eos rebel directly into the iPad 3 using the kit. Simply states USB device not supported. The camera uses cf cards so this is a useless product.

Both my iPad min and my latest-gen iPad 4 complain that this is "not supported by this device". Both completely up to date with the latest iOS version.
Why is this device sold with a picture of an iPad on the box when it is not suitable for purpose? Very poor Apple. "It just works"? No.

Apparently these adapters are VERY particular about which devices can be connected. I tried two different brands of SD cards and nothing happens. I also tried the USB flash memory sticks I have on hand and get a message that the device cannot be used because it requires too much power. I wonder how many SD cards and memory sticks I'll have to buy before I find any that work...

So Far So Good - SD Photos

I've only tried out the SD Card reader. I hadn't thought about the possibilities that open with the other reader so I'll come back to that in a later review.
I have a Canon Rebel EOS DSLR and a Canon Powershot (I actually use the SD cards in both cameras as well). I also shoot the majority of my photos in RAW format. So I was a little hesitant to think this would really open my photos AND allow me to import and edit. I plugged in the reader and voila! Photos opened, I could select the photos I wanted and import them, then edit in an editor.
I've read multiple reviews that say that it doesn't work, I'm wondering with updates if I'll have problems but my iPad has a version 5 on the software, and my husbands has a version 6. Both have no issues opening the photos from the Photo App. It took me a second to refind the photos but once I started going to the built in Photo App I was able to find them there. - iPad 2, 16G. WiFi only.

Works. Does need a human to push adapter into the required slot. Does need a sd card for you to take the pictures from. Does need a cable to attach your camera using the USB adapter. Has read all of my sd cards and all of my USB devices do work, I now have all of my pictures from my game trail camera loaded with ease. If you are not able to get these adapters to work you must be an idiot! Great product for the family!
