This product is the best item I purchased from Apple. I carry it in my camera case and regularly download pictures from my camera to my iPad. Absolutely love it! Simple to use.

    Absolute disaster

    • Written by from Broadstairs

This is nothing to do with the camera kit - i've been a happy user for years - travelling with camera, iPad and iPhone, storing photos from the cameras on the iPad and thereby backing them up to iCloud. I want to continue doing the same - I LEAVE TOMORROW.

ATM i'm running on IOS8 on the phone and IOS7 on the iPad - fortunately, I looked at the web before moving the iPad to iOS8.

As far as I am concerned, this is a major design error in IOS8 and/or Photos which needs fixing PDQ.

Apple seems to have lost the plot

    Ouch, Ouch, Ouch

    • Written by from Hallowell

Just purchased the new iPad Air2 and updated the ios to the newest version and cannot upload my photos. The only reason I got the new iPad was to be able to use it while traveling and deal with photos vs having to carry my computer! This stinks. I had the camera connection kit and just changed the connection so it worked with the new iPad.

IOS 8 update rendered my kit USELESS....NOT HAPPY!!!

    • Written by from Oakville

I paid good money for TWO camera connections kits. I use them to upload and edit photos on my ipad when I travel. Just came back from Mexico and couldn't upload ANY photos from 4 different cameras.

You NEED TO FIX THIS ISSUE....OR I want my money back.

    Camera connection kit

    • Written by from Hazel Green

Bought this kit to upload pics from my trail camera. Worked great the first time I used it, but since I upgraded to IOS8.1 it has stopped working. So I tried my wife's Ipad with older operating system and it worked. So obviously since going to newer operating system it has caused the kit not to wok. Kind of a scam if they keep changing the operating system and each time they do the accessories quit working.

I am rating this product high because it was great when it was compatible with my IPad

Don't bother if on IOS 8

    • Written by from Lemont

I've had and enjoyed using my CCK for some time now, but with IOS 8, Apple has apparently decided that 30 pin accessories are no longer a priority. Both my CCK and HDMI adapter have been rendered useless by the latest updates, which is a darn shame. Perhaps Apple should add IOS compatibility to the page here and not just device compatibility.

Sd kit doesn't work with ios8

    • Written by from Raleigh

I loved my sd card connector for my iPad until I upgraded my system to ios8. If Apple has experienced this glitch with previous updates, why not address it before the update comes out??? Please fix ASAP. Some of us do have real cameras. Would give 4 stars, except you don't address this glitch when you know it is likely to happen!!

OK if you have a newer camera

    • Written by from Palmer

Bought this adapter to backup photos from my Canon G2 which I use on trips. Not possible. When the two are connected a get an incompatibility message - G2 is not supported. That makes the product a total waste for my purposes.

Tried it with a newer camera which other family members sometimes use and it worked OK but since they don't usually travel with me and I don't use their cameras it's useless.

I'm hoping to find an app that might work with the G2 but so far no luck and local "experts" say to blame the photo app that came with the iPad - not the adapter. So I'll keep looking.

I love the connection kit so much! I used to have to use a computer to upload my pictures and send them to my phone. It would usually take me 1 hour just to send and load 3 pictures. Now it takes me 3 minutes just to upload and send them to my iphone! It's also very easy to use!

    Works like a champ!

    • Written by from Andover

Just picked one up from local Apple store and tested it with my iPad 2 that's running iOS 7.1.1. As soon as I connect it to my iPad 2 and insert the SD card it shows an "import" option under photos. Shows the thumbnails and lets me select and Import the photos to my iPad 2. After import gives me an option to keep or delete the imported photos from the SD card. Tried 2 different SD cards and they both worked fine. Was very skeptical after reading the recent reviews but it just works.

iPad Camera Connection Kit totally useless

    • Written by from Huddersfield

I have an iPad with IOS 7.1.2. Neither the SD Card Reader nor the Camera Connector works. The Photo application loads automatically but it says "No photos to import" although my Windows 7 PC reads them with no problem.
In general from my experience I believe the iPad is good for use in isolation but of little use if you want to use it with the other equipment I have tried.

Works perfectly with my Canon Eos Rebel T3

    • Written by from La Place

I purchased the CCK to edit pics on the go and to get them off of my camera (Canon Eos Rebel T3) without having to tote around my laptop. Works like a charm and very user friendly like all Apple products I've purchased. I read the reviews and was skeptical at first not knowing if my camera was compatible. No issues at all.

    No longer recognised by iPad

    • Written by from Sydney

Can only assume an iOS update has made this item redundant so surprised that this is still available for sale. Our camera hasn't changed but the device is now shown as an unrecognised accessory. Glad we tested before heading away again.

    Does what its meant to

    • Written by from Sunderland

Bought this to use with my iPad 2 then bought the Lightning adapter so I could use it with my newer iPad Mini. It works every time, picks up all the SD and SDHC cards I've tried with it and transfers reasonable quickly.

I shoot with a number of cameras and having this is a great way to make quick edits on the go, email images and upload to forums/FB etc. App such as Snapseed and PS Touch are fantastically powerful and the fact the iPads handle most RAW files straight out of the camera means I don't need to convert them to jpegs first. With the Mini being neat enough to stuff in a camera bag and carry everywhere I have found this kit invaluable when I don't have access to a laptop but want to edit a photograph.

Five stars and a happy customer.

works great with my ipad just a shame apple couldnt allow it users of iphones to have the same use
wouldve been a lot easier to transfer photos to iphone for display than go through the whole itunes route , which is a pain to say the least
along with app price rises , apples heading down the wrong path , cheaper to by magazines at newsagency in australia than purchase on the iPad

    Extremely poor experience

    • Written by from Coral Springs

In the past this product worked a few times, but whether the product failed or one of the iOS upgrades removed software support for the device, it no longer works. I plug the device in and then plug in an SD or SDHC card and "Photos" opens...but all it shows is the photos already on my iPad, and there is no menu option or popup to import photos or select photos for import from the SD card. Totally pointless. Either it is an unreliable device or it is unsupported by the most recent release of iOS...either way it is a waste of money.
