After reading some reviews about not working with digital slr's I was a little hesitant about purchasing this. I plugged in my canon 30d and it fired right up without any issues! Perfect!!!!

    Don't understand the bad reviews

    • Written by from Tampa

I just don't get why some people rate these great little devices so poorly. I guess they just don't understand how these things work. First of all, you must have a folder on your SD card called DCIM. The iPad won't import anything if it's not contained within this folder. Problem solved. I was initially concerned about power usage, but I transferred 10 gigs of RAW images from my Canon EOS 5D Mk II and only used 2% of the power in my iPad. I can see thumbnails of the photos and choose which ones I want to import. This is a great device and I only wish the iPad had more storage. There is nothing wrong with this product. It's absolutely great.

I received the kit yesterday and tried it out last night. My digital camera is a Sony Cybershot which has a memory stick with adapter. It doesn't fit in the SD slot but I was able to transfer photos with the memory stick left in the camera using the USB camera plug and the other adapter that comes with this kit. I also transferred pics from my iPhone to my new iPad with ease.

It's very easy to use and I like that it lets you select all or selected pics to transfer. It also asks you if you'd like to remove them from the device after the transfer.

After I transferred from my Cybershot camera to the iPad I just opened my PS app and edited the pics & hit save.

Great product for a great price!

I've tried the Camera Connection Kit a couple of ways now.

    SD Card reader works great.

USB/Camera cord adapter works great with iPhone.

USB/Camera cord adapter also works great with my old 6-in-1 USB memory card reader, I've got an ancient digital camera that uses SmartMedia cards, camera works great and takes great pictures; I wanted to be able to plug the USB card reader into the iPad, no one at local Apple Store could tell me if it would work.

    Well, it does!

I can now see taking my iPhone and iPad together as a pretty complete 'lightweight' computing option on trips, with the Connection Kit! Can take pictures and video with the iPhone 4, use it as 'Hotspot' and mail/compute with the iPad!

The camera kit works great with my Canon G12. I used it to share daily vacation pictures with the family on my IPAD2 using the USB connection. This is a must have accessory! Downloads were simple and fast. I wish I had this on our last cruise.

I purchased this product before a trip to Europe as a means to upload photos and send them as I go. I used the SD card adapter the whole time and it worked fantastic adding photos to my first gen iPad. The 1000+ photos were uploaded quickly and they look great. I did not use the USB connector but I am willing to bet it works just as well. Definitely recommend.

I didn't buy this product with the intent of transferring photos. I bought it for the usb connection. I was reading in forums that with the usb connection on the camera connectivity kit you can use usb headphones with it. I was a little worried that my logitech g35 gaming head phones would use to much power on the but i still had to try. got it all hooked up and went to watch a movie through the head phones on my IPad 2 and it work like a charm. I did not have to go out and buy another pair of expense head phones just for my IPad. Got to love technology.

My wife gave me the iPad2 with this as a birthday present. I have a smaller camera with the XD card and she has the SD card in her camera. Both the direct connection to my camera and running the SD reader work great. Just as advertised and I can't understand the complaints. I can now move any pictures onto my Mac Book and edit to my hearts content. Great product.

    Does exactly what it says..

    • Written by from Mint Hill

Everyone with negative reviews don't seem to understand what they are buying, this is a CAMERA CONNECTION KIT, not a "Let me doctor up my photos on my pc and then use a SD card to transfer them to the iPad Kit." It does exactly what it says, it allows you to either connect your camera directly to your iPad for transfer, or pull out the card from the CAMERA and do it that way.

    Nikon D3000

    • Written by from PORT HOPE

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

I use a Nikon D3000 and the connector works fine. I'm able to transfer files quickly. I'm also able to view my RAW (NEF) images.

I like the added plastic protector on the connectors. (I wish this feature was included with the video HDMI connector.) This is a great on the go accessory if you need to upload images from your camera to your iPad2. Actually, I notice the uploading on the iPad is quicker than on my HP laptop.

Some of the "it doesn't work" reviews gave me pause, but I went to the Apple Store anyway. I expressed my concerns and was told "If you have any problems at all, come talk to us."

I plugged the card reader into my iPad 1 (64GB WiFi+3G), inserted the SD card from my Canon SD 1400 IS. It worked exactly as advertised.

    Great to bring on vacation

    • Written by from Carlsbad

With this camera connector kit, I no longer need to bring my laptop or buy extra SD cards when I go on vacation. I just unload the photos from my camera onto the IPad, and I'm ready to fill up my SD card again. I can later import my photos onto my computer at home from my iPad. I tried both the SD card reader and the USB connector, and both work great.

    Good device for photos

    • Written by from Woodbridge

I purchased this kit before a trip to London/Paris. I decied to go without my usual laptop to download my pictures each day. Instead I took my iPad and this connector kit. The iPad, via the SD part of the kit, downloaded the images into my iPad 64G device without and modifications using the RAW format from my Nikon. When I did get home, I easily imported the photos into Apeture for editing, etc. Without this device I would have needed my laptop which I didn't want to lug around. I would recommend this device for this purpose alone.
