    Requires Too Much Power

    • Written by from Oregon

Everything I tried did not work. My iPad 2 would pop up a sign stating that the "Attached Device Required Too Much Power". I went into my cameras settings and turned off the automatic transfer pictures to the PC settings.(Nikon COOLPIX) After I did this, then I could transfer pictures to my iPad. My main reason for buying this was to use memory sticks. I ended up taking it back for a refund.

    Won't work

    • Written by from Duluth

When I plug my camera into the ipad it says that my device consumes too much power and won't work. This was a gift and it was taken out of its box and the box got thrown away so now I'm stuck with a Camera Connection kit that I can't use. My camera is fairly new purchased in 2010.

    Very disappointed

The camera connection kit did not work with either of my digital cameras. One is a olympus stylus and the other a sony cybershot. What a waste of time.

    Used to work

    • Written by from Marshfield

I used to be able to transfer my photos to my ipad2 using both the reader and the usb connection. Not any more. Now it tells me "device is not supported by ipad" Very BAD move on Apple's part. Device is now unusable junk!

    Doesn't work with Sony camera

    • Written by from Chantilly

Was disappointed when the memory stick didn't work. Now I am very disappointed that the USB connection doesn't work. I bought apple for the simplicity and the reputation for compatibility. No mention of cameras that are not supported, either.

    folder limitation

    • Written by from rome

It's incredible, I bought this accessory that is the only way to see picture from my camera "on the fly" and then I discover (on some forum and not on the official doc) that it read ONLY pictures in DCIM folder!!! What a kind of limitation is this? I expected that this could read ALL pictures (and video) on sd.

I have a nikon D3000, and as most of new cameras, it can create multifolder to store the pictures, so the structure is

even if I use just one folder it is a subfolder of DCIM...
in that case no images are swhon from camera connection kit!!!

Got as present and none of my 3 cameras are compatible. Worse, the ipad doesn't recognize the sd cards when plugged in directly.

Today my friends and I took a lot of videos and cameras since I just got my Nikon D3100 for Christmas and when my friend plugged my memory card into the adapter, it deleted everything off of my memory card.

    Not working

    • Written by from NEW YORK

I bought this to use with my iPad and it never worked. For some reason it does not read any USB camera connection nor the memory stick.
Worse thing I have ever bought and I am an apple fan and love all the devices I have.

    USB Memory sticks NOT working

    • Written by from ROCHESTER

I wanted to use this to transfer photos using memory sticks. Unfortunately NONE of my high capacity (over 2GB) USB sticks will work with this with the latest software update. This is an aggravating and ridiculous limitation. I CAN manage the battery life on my iPad. I do understand having a limit - e.g. no hard drives but believe the limit is far too low because most devices won't work with this.
Until this problem I was thrilled with my iPad. Now I'm beginning to see Apple as unnecessarily limiting the uses of this, otherwise fantastic, device.

    Doesn't work with card reader

    • Written by from Vancouver

I have 2 different card readers that I tried with this accessory. One gave me an error message that said the card reader needed too much power, but it wasn't connected to any power and neither was the iPad.

The other card reader worked until I brought it on vacation to New Zealand but now gives the same error message. This is frustrating since it is a major reason I bought the iPad. To top it off there doesn't seem to be online help for this.

    Not working!!

    • Written by from Rosedale

I have both iPad & iPad2 in my house and got the same error message on both saying that i cannot use this accessory as it consumes too much power. The funny thing is that I actually bought 2 kits thinking it was a smart move and got them delivered to the middle east... Waste of money!! Is there any way to work around the problem?

    bad move apple!

    • Written by from Ogden

Picked this up to upload pictures to my ipad and when I connected it with the usb adapter, it came up with the message that it required too much power... I called the apple store before I bought this and asked specifically if there were any known problems with this adapter and was guaranteed that it would work... all I had to do was plug it in and it would upload my pictures. I am not happy with this and will be returning it to apple. What is frustrating is that I called up the apple store before I bought this and was given incorrect information. Why does apple even sell this when they know it won't work... bad move apple... very bad move!!

    Camera kit/ Sony Cyber-shot

    • Written by from Middletown

Purchased IPad 32g Wifi along with the camera kit. The IPad rocks, camera kit does not!
Sony uses their stick for the memory card, so I connected the camera to the IPad with the USB adapter, message comes up on the IPad "device not supported".
My question is.... What camera/ media card does the connector kit work with????

Why won't the SD card connection kit work?

    • Written by from Swainsboro

I love my I-PAD 2 in many ways. I have a Nikon D-5100 with an excellent high speed 16 GB SD card. Neither the SD card nor the camera connection works. I have a 64 GB wifi & 3G IPAD-2. The same SD kit works with my daughter's 32 GB IPAD 2. The AV connector works great with my IPAD. I don't think anything is wrong with my connector. When I plug in the SD card kit I notice that the card is recognized in settings, but the transfer screen does not come up. I think this is very poor engineering. I feel I am a slave to the poor engineering in the Itunes setup. Apple, can't you make this right?
