    Insufficiant Power

    • Written by from Adelaide

I have a Sony Cybershot and originally this kit used to work fine and downloaded my photos onto the iPad not problem then all of a sudden it just stopped and now it gives me the insufficiant power message.

Same kit, same memory card just stopped working. Thought it might have been the amount of data but no wont work with even one photo on the memory card.

As it used to work I wonder if it is more a iPad software version problem.

    Doesn't work with new ipad

    • Written by from Terrace

I bought the ipad 3 to use for traveling and posting photos from my camera to my blog while away. I had researched that a camera connector kit would make my new ipad able to do just that. It won't connect with my camera - just get an error message "too much power" - cannot connect. I tried it with a different camera and got the same error message. I am really disappointed. I would give this product a zero stars if I could - for use with the new ipad.

Does not even deserve a star

    • Written by from Grande Prairie

. Can't download from my video cam, sd memory card (or any memory card for that matter), or my camera. These are a waste of money which wouldn't even allow me to transfer one single picture. NOT HAPPY and seriously never gonna buy any more apple stuff.

    Did not work at all!

    • Written by from Westfield

Bought this tody to download vca pics to my ipad2. Tried to connect camera first, draws too much power, OK I'll use the card reader, no luck there either. Could not read. This is a sans disk micro with an adapter. So very frustrated and disappointed with this product. Back to the apple store tomorrow with the connection kit and my camera, a waste of my time. I am counting on them to make this right. I had to put 1 star in to submit review, it should be a big fat 0.

Needs to be worked on (combo with ipad)

    • Written by from Wuppertal

Purchased CCK for my holiday trip. Shot hundreds of photos each day and used Ipad for rewiev/backup. First problem:

    - when you import the size of the thumbnail is waaay too small. Had to import everything from the SD card

Now, after a week of photoshooting got to organize stuff. So I created the 'BestOf' album and copied good stuff there. Now the second big problem emerged:

    - There is no usable way to bunch-delete photos. It is really annoying having to select each pic separately. And no, I dont have a Mac/Pc/whatever with me - that is why I took Ipad!

    And then:

    - You cannot delete whole album either
    - when you delete a picture which is in another album, there is no way of telling which album(s) was ment. If picture is deleted, it disappears everywhere. This makes the idea of an album kind of useless.

Summary: hardware works, software is useless.. The combination of Ipad+ CCK is not practical.

For my next big holiday I will take a bunch of SD card and organize my photos when I am back home. I will definately save a lot of time.

    Only worked once!

    • Written by from Oviedo

Bought the iPad3 specifically for loading my vacation photos through the SD card adapter so I wouldn't have to bring my laptop along. It only worked the first time I put a card in. I tried 6 different SD cards to see if the cards may have been the problem. Still nothing. It just doesn't get recognized. Now I have to make a trip to the Apple store, bringing my cards and computer with me, to see if they can figure out whats going on. What a pain!!! Seems others are having no issues. Wish that were me!

    Doesn't import video

    • Written by from Vancouver

I paid $45 for this piece of junk and it won't import videos. Thank you Apple for misrepresenting its capability.

I'm now in Europe and completely knackered because it is pointless now to shoot videos.

Do any Apple products "support this device"?!?!?

    • Written by from San Antonio

Neither my iPod, nor my iPad support the SD card reader or the USB reader. What gives Apple? Why would you sell something like this?

    explain this apple

    • Written by from vancouver

so i bought this connector kit for a trip to the tropics and it worked fine by transferring photos from my cannon s95 with the SD card reader just plugged into my ipad3 and the upload took about a minute for about 300 pics.. pics look awesome on the new ipad with the resolution and all. So now i want those same pics on to my wife's macbook air but wait a minute some how i cant transfer any pics from ipad to mac ????? there are all these wireless ways and methods to do this but come on this should be basic technology for anyone using a computer no matter what brand??? so now i tried the connector that uses a USB connector ok lets plug it into the ipad and upload those pics on to my 4gb USB...... OH my usb is to much power for my ipad ???????? the point of this adapter ??? to transfer the pictures that were on my camera back to my camera?? I read reviews that this use to actually work but apple put a stop to it.. shame on you apple

    Doesn't work with SDXC cards

    • Written by from Anchorage

I really only wanted the SD card reader to read photos and only after the fact of buying this Kit do I find out that SDXC cards are not supported, This may not be Apple's fault, but I find it to be very frustrating, I bought the SDXC card because it is 64 gig, enough for HD video files on my camera for vacation, now I have to take my laptop to upload from my camera. Just a word of caution to anyone in my situation. Make sure you are not using an SDXC card as this product will not work.

    It doesn't "just work"

    • Written by from Salem

I purchased the CCK to import photos. Needless to say after over 4 hours of researching why it won't work, I'm giving up and returning it. I've tried 4 different brands/sizes of SD cards to no success. They have all been formatted correctly. They all have the correct DCIM root folder with 8 figure names plus extension .jpg . The iPad 2 recognizes the reader. Put any of the cards in the slot... nothing. It doesn't just work. I've been a Mac fanatic since the 80s, but since the iOS reign, I must say that no, Mr. Jobs' ghost, it doesn't 'just work'.

Worked Once & Nothing After! DO NOT BOTHER!

    • Written by from Santee

I was able to transfer 150 photos to my iPad3 using my 16GB SD Card from my Nikon D90. Worked like a dream ONCE!

BUT...Ever since, the iPad will only read 5 photos out of 50 new photos! All are JPEGs just as before! All are from the same camera & same SD Card!

I have erased & re-formatted the SD Card and reloaded the Photos...SAME RESULT!

I have NEVER had this much BS factor with any other apple device!
Run Fast - Run Far - From this device!

PS the USB connector is functionally USELESS!

    Camera -SD Card connectors

    • Written by from Cranberry Township

I have about 500 pictures I wanted to upload using the SD card connector.
My iPad only reads 2, not the smallest not the largest.
I have no clue why does not read the others. All are JPG but some were edited with Adobe
I have change the files to an older SD after reading the comments that does not work with the newer ones. Same results.
Would it be that the Adobe edit affected them and if so can something be done?
