    Not working

    • Written by from NEW YORK

I bought this to use with my iPad and it never worked. For some reason it does not read any USB camera connection nor the memory stick.
Worse thing I have ever bought and I am an apple fan and love all the devices I have.

    Camera connection kit

    • Written by from Weatherly

We have both the iPad and iPad2. The camera connection kit SD adapter works plug and play on iPad, but not on the iPad2. Still looking for the solution, but nothing yet. It is advertised to work on both.

This is a camera connection. NOT a USB port

    • Written by from Birmingham

I got the kit hoping for a non-network and non iTunes way of getting data into my ipad 2. Well it is not USB. It does allow you to transfer pictures from your camera or SD camera card. That is what it is advertised to do. So if that is all you want or need, it should be sufficient.

However, even if you want to transfer non-camera pictures, you'll be in trouble. The ipad2 software is not just looking up a specific directory for photos, it is inspecting the picture. So if this is a photo you retouched or just another picture you like, it will not transfer. I haven't gone to the point of altering the EXIF data to see if that would allow the transfer.

You just get to a point where you have to ask if you should have spent less and got the other guys table instead.

BTW I was asked today at work to show off my ipad2. When asked if I would recommend its use at work. (I use it to take notes. not much else) I said they should consider some other brand. Why? Connectivity. (Apple you really need to get that USB fixed.)

I love my camera connection kit. I use both the USB and SD Card connectors and they work flawlessly! They're perfect for when I'm on a photo shoot and I can show my clients the photos right away on my iPad. Plus, they're super compact so I can just throw them in my camera bag with my iPad and I'm ready to go!

2 Adapter for one price, that work

    • Written by from San Diego

1 for SD card reading into iPhoto, and another to USB connect your Camera to the iPad. Either way you can have success, but I prefer the SD Card reader so I don't need to bring along another USB cable to connect the camera.

I have an 8GB SD card from San DIsk that works just fine. I like checking out pictures on the iPad before I download them to my iMAC. I like this to enable better selections, and to share with friends faster.

    Waste of money

    • Written by

I, like many before me thought this accessory would be great. Alas, it does not work with my Canon camera. A complete waste of money, such a shame as it could make life much easier.

according to its specs, this should work with both my Nikon and Canon cameras. it works on the Nikon sometimes, and the Canon never. if it won't import automatically, and there is no import command, what am I supposed to do? very frustrating.

    iPad camera adapter

    • Written by from Stanton

I just received my connectors and plugged in my Nikon D80 and Nikon D700 to my iPad and was able to download all of my photos to my iPad and I use the NEF mode (RAW) and it let me still view all of my pics.
This is a great tool for my photography since now I can download my cards and view my pics immediately.

    Great! Plus can use Soundsticks!

    • Written by from Bonney Lake

Good product for someone with lots of SD card cameras! Plus the USB connector allows me to use keyboards for typing and a big plus is it allows the use of Harman Kardon Soundsticks speakers.

I haven't had ANY problems with either connector. They both do what they say they will do. Both work perfectly with my iPad2 and my Nikon D7000. I love the convenience!

Waste of money. SDXC DOESN'T WORK

    • Written by from West palm beach

Not compatible with SDXC, and I thought Apple products just worked. Apple is usually great but this was a waste of money. I am new to photography and all my memory cards are SDXC because it is the newest technology.

It works perfectly, from iPad 1 to iPad (2012)!

    • Written by from Brasília

I got it when I had the 1st. iPad and it worked great! I even used it a couple of times connecting the iPhone 4 to the iPad and retrieved all the pictures in Camera Roll. Now with the New iPad (2012) I did the same and even connected my Nikon D80 and was able to get all the pictures in the SD card. It didn't matter if I plugged in the card or the camera itself. Amazing product, and with iPhoto for iPad I can even retouch the pics and send to clients right away!

    RAW Files, No Problem

    • Written by from Wentzville

I bought this with reservation as the definition didn't clearly state how raw files were handled. CR2 (Canon RAW) images are imported extremely fast from my DSLR; And display immediately when complete. When editing in iPhoto, there is no need to convert to jpg; you edit the RAW file and then can email (at which time it is converted to jpg automagically).
I would recommend this to any pro photographer who wants to shoot, then display at weddings or at family photo shoots.
    I love this product!!

    works great with Canon XSi

    • Written by from San Francisco

I am using this with a 3rd generation iPad and my Canon EOS Rebel XSi, connected via USB. It works great! My SanDisk Extreme III SDHC cards also work great in the card reader.

I shoot RAW photos, and I use my iPad to backup, review and select images. When I return home, I download the images from my iPad to my Mac for further editing. This all works great, the images transfer fine, and there is no loss of quality in the transfer.

The transfer speed from camera to iPad seems slightly slower than from camera to Mac, but it is very acceptable.

The higher resolution display on the 3rd generation iPad makes it perfect for previewing photos, and this kit makes it easy to do so. Highly recommended!

Does what it's supposed to do.

    • Written by from San diego

    Read the title.

I am a rescue swimmer in the navy and have the opportunity to shoot some of the most amazing places in the world. I have a DSLR and hate to look at the pictures on the camera. When I'm done taking pictures I transfer them to the iPad while in the aircraft so I can review my work.

I take both large Canon .Raw and JPEG formats usually 18Mb and 4Mb and it uploads them somewhat slow. But still does the job. I can't complain one bit.

Keep in mind I only use the SD card reader and not the USB so it may be slower transfer rate... not sure.

Also I don't like the transfer rate from the iPad to the computer... Takes longer than uploading the SD card on the iPad.

    I hope this helps.

After reading some of the other reviews, I was a little nervous about buying this but I have to say that I was not disappointed. I just plugged in my Nikon and the photos download screen popped right up. Worked as expected, great product.

Failed for me too! Waste of $?

    • Written by from GROSSE POINTE FARMS

With iPad Camera Connection Kit connected to my iPad 2 w/latest IOS, I also was NOT able to get it to work. I moved Jpeg Pics from camera's SD folder to a DCIM folder on the same SD and still nothing. There was no indication of it being connected or insufficient power as some have stated. It's like the iPad didn't even know it was there. I would've expected Apple to develop & provide a quick resolution.

    Really Sick!

    • Written by from Traverse City

Works amazing guys! I have an Olympus E410 and used the USB connector since Olympus cameras use XD cards not SD. Uploaded more than 500 photos within 10 minutes. Tried to use my Flip video camera and it didn't work. Tried to put in an old Compaq USB keyboard and said it wasn't compatible. Went to pages, started typing and it worked! So does all the pause/play buttons at the top too. So get it! See if what you own is compatible with it, and if not return it. Simple as that.
