I just bought the camera connection kit and plugged it in as described in the instructions. A message came on the iPad screen indicating there was not enough power. This is a fully powered iPad. Not indicating there isn't enough space.....very confused and about to turn around and return the dumb thing.

This was a great tool .Both the sd and the usb worked well until recently.
One of my cameras uses a compact flash card which I connected to a card reader and the USB dongle. I no longer can transfer because suddenly too much power is required!!!
If it worked originally, it should keep working in subsequent software updates or it seems like a breach of contract to pull the capability away.
    Please restore how this works.
    Thank you

I was hoping to be able to use this for a jump drive (Memory stick, Thumb drive whatevever you like to call it) so that I could put movies on it and take them with me as I travel a lot for work and don't want to have to take my computer with me as well. Jumb drives don't work, and if the memory card isn't formated for a camera (used in a camera) it won't read the card. This is the first Apple product I am truly dissapointed with. I guess I'll have to make sure I have the movies I want with me, iCloud only has 5gb of free storage and I don't feel like paying yearly for more, unless I have no other option...

I'm extremely disappointed! I got this for my birthday and though oh great I can upload photos easy without going through syncing and stuff. WRONG! I used it once and what happens? My photo library with all the photos I've already imported from my PC are gone. I can't find them. So I tried reimporting my photo library the old fashion way... I got half photos and not even all of them. I got 12photos out of the 400 I imported and some of them were half photo half white screen. This is a rip off dont buy this.

I'M SICK OF THE ROTTEN APPLE!!!!!!!

Not compatible with SDXC, and I thought Apple products just worked. Apple is usually great but this was a waste of money. I am new to photography and all my memory cards are SDXC because it is the newest technology.

Purchased the camera kit yesterday (6/17/2012) and it was a total bust. I should have read all the reviews before purchasing. It seems apple has decided that OS5 was designed to get you to spend more to Download pictures from your camera. Nice move apple!

So I just connected my camera to my iPad for the first time, and I am also getting the inadequate power message. So I just wasted a bunch of money on a software issue? Apple, I expect so much better from you. All I want is to make room on my camera for more vacation pictures, and now it seems I can't. Wonderful...

I have a 3rd generation iPad and a DSLR camera. The camera requires loading its compact flash cards or microdrives into a USB adaptor to transfer photos from the camera to a computer. My new iPad gives me an error message saying that the device requires too much power. What a ridiculous design, I bought a top of the line iPad + a $30 device which I now find out can't work together. What a WASTE of money! Apple I am very disappointed in you,as well as disgusted. What were you thinking?! I would have chosen a -1 rating if I could have.

    Crippled By Apple

This device USED to work great, until Apple reduced the power to the dock from 100 ma to 20 ma. They did this to try to control what devices people could/could not used with their products. However, now this product is all but USELESS because MANY SDXC cards & USB flash drives WILL NOT WORK with the kit b/c, as many other reviewers have already mentioned, the error message of, "The connected USB device requires too much power."

Thanks Apple. Thanks a lot. Now I have $30 of worthless plastic and no convenient way to get the things I want on and off of my iPad 2 when away from home. "With Apple, it just works" MY BUM, Tim Cook.

The USB connection is worthless because it will not supply power to the USB drive so it will not read it. The camera connection is worthless because it won't read the jpg files from a Canon G11 or 5D3. Apple thanks for nothing.

Just bought a Nikon S9300 and the iPad Camera Connector Kit. If one of the two had to fail, I'd choose the connector kit, because it did. "Device requires too much power" or some such nonsense. As if I have to time for this. How do you sell a product that a customer can't use?

Camera USB Connector doesn't, measure up

I purchased the camera adaptor for USB and SD cards executing to be Abe to use other USB storage devices with my new IPad 3. Unfortunately it came up with an error message that the device uses too much power, which seems uncharacteristic of an Apple product. Looking into it further it seems that with the
The iOS 4.2 they reduced the device to 20 Mamp instead of the 100Mamp that it used to accommodate . Since this is the only USB connectivity Apple provides for the IPad , I would hope they will update the firmware in the near future.

This product does not work!!!! Have gone through ALL the turning off/resetting etc etc etc on iPad.....Nada!

Are Apple listening to their customers, or do we have to put up with being sold inferior products?

I could not post this review until I rated the product, I didn't want to, but had to give it one star!

iPad camera connection does not work!

As many have found out, this is a highly buggy interface. It does not work on a standard Canon point and shoot camera Powershot SD850. It also does not work on two of my Nikon cameras.

Mechanically, this connection is a piece of junk. It is flimsy, and keeps coming out.

I doubt Apple will do anything to fix this, but here's hoping.....
