I was hesitant to buy this because of the negative words posted here. Buy it. This works great. Used it everyday for ten days with SD cards (hundreds of raw files) and an IPad2. Instantly (almost) transferred all of the pictures from the card to the iPad. The device starts up on the iPad automatically when a camera's card is inserted into the connector in the dock. The software offers an opportunity to 'delete or keep' all images on the card after import. Disconnect the small device and enjoy seeing/editing your photos on the iPad in vivid color.

When I returned home from vacation, I transferred the images I had kept on several cards but I could easily have imported them into my photo management software from the Ipad2.
I read and re-read the comments some users had connecting their cameras to the connector. I did not try to do this since I am accustomed to removing the camera's card to transfer files to a mac.

I rarely write reviews but read and depend on them before making purchases. This gadget is definitely worth 5 stars because now I travel with an iPad and leave my mac at home. Bravo Apple!

I have a Cannon 30D. I bought the adapter yesterday. I plugged in the USB adapter, then plugged the cord from the camera into the adapter, turned on the iPad, then powered up the camera. All my pics (300+) started to download/preview immediately. I picked 40 to put on my iPad, and downloaded them. It couldn't have been easier. WELL WORTH $30!

I have found that the 2 piece photo connector is fabulous. The sd card reader transferred all my slr photos to my iPad2 flawlessly. The USB connector allowed me to transfer my iPhone 4 pics directly from the phone to my iPad2. Beats using my PC (that I hate) any time.

I was pleased when I plugged my 32 GB SD card into the adapter and my photos were instantly available for transfer onto my iPad 2. It is much easier to show photos to clients rather than loading them onto a laptop. I was also surprised that the RAW files from my Nikon D7000 were also read without issue.

Camera COnnection kit on iOS 5

Using the iPad camera connection kit, and an iPad 2 on iOS 5, I CAN connect and use an M-audio Oxygen 49 (version 3) USB MIDI keyboard. No Powered USB hub required.

Idk much about power and electronics, but i'm pretty sure a Oxygen 49 requires more than 20 ma's, which was the iOS 4.2 limitation

    Portability and function at last

I use my camera to take photos at the local surf club, transfer them to the iPad, edit at the clubhouse with the person who does the newsletter, then email them that person for the newsletter. It means that all the photos are done in real time, and in the format the editor wants.

We are going to Disney World in a few weeks and bought the camera adapter to we can dump the photos from our point and shoot, and our other family member's cameras, onto the iPad at night.

I played around with it today and it couldn't be simpler to use.

I took these adapters with me on my trip to Australia and NZ this past summer. No problems with the downloading of the pictures and I took a lot. The only problem is I ran out of space on my iPad. This is a great accessory to have if you like to download pictures and see them on a bigger screen and let the iPad do the rest.

    Awesomely Offload Videos from iPhone

Need to reclaim space from your iPhone after shooting HD video? Only one iPad Camera Connection Kit is needed. Just use it and the cable that comes with the iPhone.

At first I thought I would need two of these and a male-to-male USB wire, but I was only suffering from a momentary lapse of logic.

Probably the most for the buck I've spent on the iPad

I'm not a professional photographer but my wife and I travel constantly and importing 10 gig of images per trip is not unusual. I have never had an SD card the adapter can't read. We travel with a Nikon D80 and Canon SD1200 and a G7. They all work just fine. Yes, if you plug in a product that requires high current it may not work (I don't know). However, this product delivers what Apple represents. Anything beyond that is icing on the cake.

iPad 2 and Canon EOS 5D

Just returned from a week of thorough testing. The iPad returned a not supported message when connected directly to the camera's USB port, but read a Zios CF card reader every time.

Using the SD card reader for pictures taken with a Canon point-and-shoot was easy as well.

This product is just AMAZING!!!! I just got them and they work super well! I am so happy that they are a good price! If it was me, I probably would have priced it about $20 more! They are wonderful because I want to have all my pics on my iPad, but its a nuisance to carry around by any body of water, and it's more likely to get stolen. But with the cam connection kit, I don't have to bring it anywhere where I want to take pics! I can just bring my camera. Get this if you are afraid of dropping and breaking your iPad, getting it wet, or getting it stolen! TRUST ME! It's worth the $30!!!!!

    Works Perfectly!

After reading a lot of mixed reviews, I was even more confused than Einstein creating his theory of relativity. All bad reviews are actually not because of the product being faulty or its functionality being faulty rather the bad reviewers either have bad quality SD cards which iPad doesn't recognize or they have bad cameras which do not connect . I have tested a Transcend 32GB SD HC Class 10 card and a Toshiba 8GB SD HC Class 4 card, both of them worked perfectly. The camera I connected to the kit was a Canon 60D Digital SLR and what luck didn't give me any problems at all too. So to conclude the kit works as described in the store without any regrets I love the accessebility it offers on the go. Btw I tested the kit on an iPad 2nd generation so people who have written bad reviews about this kit might have an older iPad or an older software version. I suggest before rating anything people should at least check if their iPad isn't at fault. i would give it 6 stars if possible as I'm a professional photographer and this kit lowers the weight of my total baggage by around 40% and removes the need to carry a laptop everywhere when iPad is such appropriately sized.
