    Good Charger, Except...

This is a great charger that charges fast. It's compact, sleek and doesn't take up much room. But when I got it, it only came with 2 batteries, NOT 6. I'll be calling Customer Support on this one. But besides that, you should get this charger because its so great. (You Probably won't have the problem I have.)

    They don't last long.

They last about 17 days in the Magic Mouse with a usage of 10 hours a day.

After a year the charger and the batteries started acting up. It's hard now to get them to charge. Often the amber light will blink and i have to remove and reinsert the batteries and the charger a dozen times to get them to charge. This wasn't a problem in the first year and i don't do anything differently now.

It's interesting that the warranty expiry and the onset of problems coincide.

The form is nice but doesn't seem to charge any quicker or hold the charge longer than my Panasonic rechargeables. And the charger can get very warm when it's in use.

Seems you're paying for form over content! And the brand, of course.

    Good batteries, weird number

It's odd that this charger comes with six batteries, when the Magic Mouse requires two batteries, and some models of the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard require three. This leaves me with one spare battery in the package, meaning I can't have a pair charged and ready to go for when my mouse or keyboard dies.

This is silly, Apple! Include eight or nine.

    Apple Battery Charger

Works good. Batteries seem to last several months in Keyboard and Mouse, and I use the computer at work all day. I do not turn off the mouse and keyboard at night, I just put the computer to sleep.

Pro: batteries hold charge for quite awhile when not in device, so are ready to use. Attractive and small charger. Compact packaging.

Cons: charger should hold 4 batteries at a time and you should get 8 batteries so you can use 4 and charge 4. Other chargers I have, that are similar, the lights flash when charging, when they are charged lights stop flashing. This one the light turns amber to green when finished charging. I am color blind so can't tell when it turns to green. Or if it is green and they are charged when I put them in.

    Poor Charge

    • Written by from Cottonwood

Like others I thought this was a good idea. Not. It does show 100% charge, but not for long. I've had the iMac + charger & batteries since early December and have had to change the mouse 4 times. The keyboard is still at about 35%. The 4th time I changed batteries on the mouse I used Duracell regular batteries and after 3 days it still 100%. Apple batteries would be about 80%. I'll wait to change the keyboard until it's lower to see if the regular batteries will be better. This is only good if you run out of regular batteries, at least it's a backup.

Nice charger, doesn't come with enough batteries

The idea is great. Have batteries for you keyboard, mouse and extra for when they run down. But, apple keyboard takes 3 batteries, magic mouse takes 2, leaving only one extra. ( comes with 6) What good does one extra battery do? The charger itself is small and nicely designed.

    Apple Battery Charger

The Apple Battery Charger works as expected my gripe is with the batteries. They don't seem to work like Eneloops which hold most of their charge for up to a year, the Apple batteries seem to self-discharge. I fully charged them when I first got them but when I went to use the batteries they were at 60% after a couple of weeks.

    Disappointment

Obviously I like Apple products- I bought this thing. But, especially compared to other Apple products, this one is subpar. On the plus side, the unit is handsome, is simple to use, and it comes with six batteries. However, it never charges the batteries fully. I even unplug it/plug it back in, and the batteries still only get up to about 70% off two charges. In retrospect, I should've purchased a charger that juices all 6 batteries at the same time (and of course charges them 100%).

Got to admit the charger looks great and is quite small. The only thing I must say is that i cannot get those brand new out of the box batteries that came with the charge to charge to 100%. I did purchase this unit yesterday and max I am getting out of them is 93% on the keyboard and 83% on the mouse. Using normal Energizer batteries I get 100%. So not sure if this was a good purchase.

    Battery Charger

I purchased a Battery charger and I'm reasonably happy only one problem is the design of the charger. I find it a bit difficult to pull the charger out of the wall socket Ideally you could do with a lip on either side of the charger so you have something to grip apart from that it does the job

Just received my new Apple Battery Charger. On first full charge it show's 92%, so i let it charge more. After that i tried on my magic mouse, it show's only 85%. Not sure if it's normal but the product is sleek and sexy.

Seemed like a great idea, but...

It seems that as soon as I install these (after a full charge) they only show a level of about 70-75% on my Magic Mouse or Keyboard. They also don't seem to last nearly as long as regular Energizer/Duracell type batteries. I guess that's the price you pay for saving a few bucks on disposable batteries.

    It's a battery charger.

Other than being tiny and white, I don't see where this product has an advantage over any other battery charger: this may be a product that Apple just couldn't improve. However, they have made it difficult to use for people with limited color vision. The indicator light is tiny, and for people with moderate red/green color blindness the amber and green colors can be hard to distinguish. How about blue and orange for the next model?

If I had known what to expect...

    • Written by from Toronto

22 of 55 people found this useful

...maybe I would have liked this product more. If I had known (from perhaps the "documentation"?) that the batteries will not charge to more than 85% then maybe myself and some other people who bought this charger would not have had our expectations disappointed by an Apple product. I am not and do not want to be an expert on rechargeable batteries. I just want this thing to work. So I am going to give this product a chance over the long term. Still, I see that my Magic Mouse, which chews through batteries like there's no tomorrow, is down from 85% to 72% in 24 hours. And the flashing amber light, which you can make go away by unplugging and replugging the unit or by wiggling the batteries around, is dumb. Hmmm, how many AA batteries could I have bought for 30 bucks?

79% charge and why only two?

    • Written by from GRAND BLANC

Just like the other reviews stated, my batteries only charged to 79%.

Also, why would Apple make it so you can only charge two batteries at a time, my wireless keyboard takes three batteries!

Six batteries are included so it would have been nice to charge three at a time only having to swap the sets twice.

Was this useful? 79% charge and why only two?

    Bad Batteries

    • Written by from Boulder

38 of 76 people found this useful

There appears to be a problem with the batteries, at least for some people. All three sets of batteries included with my order would only charge to between 81-89%, according to my Magic Mouse. When I put in a fresh set of Energizers, it registers 100%. With good batteries this will be a good product.
