Poor performance, not compatible with other batteries. Choose this product and you get mediocre battery life and charging speeds.

Stopped working after only about 7 days. The recharged batteries empty out only after 1 day. I went back to energizer batteries. What a waist of my money!!!

Quirky charger, batteries that discharge when just sitting idle. I bought three sets and all of the chargers are not working anymore. The yellow light keeps flashing.
Very disappointing product for an Apple.

Had this product for about a year -- things were great. But as other users have commented the batteries themselves are awful! They all stopped working at pretty much the same time. Won't be picking up another one of these.

When it actually worked, batteries charged quickly and held charge. Then the charger stopped charging after 4 months. Next stop, Amazon.

Charger works, batteries are nearly useless!

The charger fills the batteries in just a couple hours, the problem is that just letting them sit on the counter they loose charge in just a couple days. In the mouse mine have lost up to 30% charge in one day just by sitting, even turned off. Maybe I just got six bad batteries, but I doubt it. I'd recommend looking for better batteries instead.

It's barely been 2 weeks since I've started using these batteries/charger and after a single round, all I get now is a blinking amber light and no charge. Terribly disappointed.

bought mine with a gift card. Batteries are installed according to the instructions on the charger. + is up toward the indicated light. orange light stays light for a few seconds then starts flashing. What the...? can't give it more than one start if it doesn't even work out the box.

    Faulty Apple Battery Charger?

    • Written by from LETHBRIDGE

I just bought 6 NiMh apple batteries with a charger a month ago. When the batteries went down to 10% in Magic Mouse, I recharged two AAs and it took 32 hours to see solid amber light turning to green light, and it shows only 88% full. Now i am charging the second pair of batteries to see how long it will take.

Is this a defective charger or battery problem? Very disappointing...

    Miserably Disappointed

I've been an Apple booster for some 20 years but this charger is a miserable disappointment. The first one I bought was simply defective and had to be exchanged. The replacement charges, but almost never to 100%. The batteries last about 3 days in my mouse before I have to switch them out again. It can only be used with NiMH AA batteries, so all my other rechargeables are left sitting in a drawer. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought one of the more versatile (and less expensive) universal chargers that are available elsewhere.

    Stopped Working

This little charger was great at first, but after about 3 cycles through the included batteries, it stopped working. The light never comes on, the batteries never charge. I have had to resort to using a larger wall charger that came with some Eneloop batters I purchased to charge these. Turns out I paid a lot, for nothing but rechargeable batteries.

    DEFECTIVE

I ordered this and when I plugged it in the light flashed amber-according to instructions this happens only if the unit is damaged or using defective batteries etc. As that was not the case either the unit was defective or the manual is incorrect. Anyhow-I got 2 more replacements and had the same issue with all three.
I spend 30 minutes on the phone trying to explain what a battery charger was to return it. it was a nightmare!

It is true that the Apple wireless keyboard and Apple magic mouse both show at most 80% battery level with these batteries. It has something to do with the voltage of the rechargeable batteries. That is not a huge deal.
Here is my issue with this battery charger and batteries.
After letting a set of batteries charge for a few days, I removed them from the charger, and kept them on my desk, putting another set of batteries in to charge.
A week later I put the charged batteries that were on my desk in my magic mouse, and it showed only 9% charge left, and I immediately got a low battery warning. Mouse stopped working a day later, and I had to replace the batteries.

This has occurred several times for me. Now I can occasionally get 40% charge out of them if I charge them right before use. These have only been charged a handful of times a piece and the charger is only about 6 months old. Maybe I just have a bad batch of batteries. Maybe if you buy this you will have better luck. Feel lucky?

I bought these batteries over a year ago and right away my bluetooth manager would report the newly charged batteries to be far below 100%. As a result, the charge would not last nearly as long as with other batteries. Thankfully, apple keyboards and mice don't seem to use much juice, so these batteries were still usable. However, I just went to charge a set of batteries and sparks were flying out of the back of the charger and now it altogether doesn't work. Poor product for sure. Seeing that I can't charge apple batteries in any other charger these are useless so I grabbed some of my energizer rechargeable batteries and they show up close to 100%. I plan to recycle these batteries and go buy a few more energizer packs (which have always worked great with my xbox controllers). Do yourself a favor and avoid these.

I bought one of these for work and it failed to charge after about 2 charges. THey sent me a second one as replacement and it failed in the same way. Don't buy this product! They don't work and it is a waste of money. Get some other battery recharger.

I like Apple jiggers but this is craap. I let the batteries charge until the green light went out & then some. Mouse preferences said 100% charge but with normal use they went flat much quicker than alkaline and NiCads I have used. This was experienced with each of the 3 pairs even after numerous cycles. Changed to eneloop with great results. Stick to computers Mr Apple. (1 * only because its pretty.)

How are you able to determine if the charge lasts a long time when you wrote your review on the same day you bought it? Please be honest with your reviews.

This product is one of the few let downs i have experienced with an apple product. Batteries do not fit properly and after four charge cycles my battwries no longer hold a charge for more than several days. Very dissapointed.
