Does not work well in my mouse.

    • Written by from Mars

Fully charged, these batteries only register 85% at most, in my mouse. I used the mouse editing pictures for about an hour and the % was down to 73%. I don't think that these batteries work very well in my mouse at least. I have a 1 month old 21.5" IMac with the I3 chip.
The batteries that came with the mouse were regular Energizer Alkalines and they lasted the full month and were down to 25% when I changed to the rechargeables. I am going back to Alkaline batteries.

Charger stopped working 4 months after purchase

    • Written by from Portland

When it actually worked, batteries charged quickly and held charge. Then the charger stopped charging after 4 months. Next stop, Amazon.

    Nice Camera Charger!

    • Written by from Primghar

I bought this charger for the batteries in my wireless keyboard and magic mouse, but found it much more useful. This charger is just like the iPad 10 watt power charger or MacBook MagSafe Power Adapter from the fact that you can use the power 6ft cord. This is nice if you want be able to charger from a distance. I use this all the time for my camera batteries. Overall an awesome product

Charger works, batteries are nearly useless!

    • Written by from Lakeside

The charger fills the batteries in just a couple hours, the problem is that just letting them sit on the counter they loose charge in just a couple days. In the mouse mine have lost up to 30% charge in one day just by sitting, even turned off. Maybe I just got six bad batteries, but I doubt it. I'd recommend looking for better batteries instead.

    please please sell batteries separately

    • Written by from Sausalito

This battery charger combo is the best I've ever used... And I've used a ton of them.

I would love to buy 20 or so extra batteries - I'm going broke buying the combos.

    Cheers

    No Power

These batteries don't fully charge even when left in charger overnight. I haven't gotten more than 79% value for my mouse. Also, in three days my mouse went down to 47%. Is this really Eco friendly?

    Great piece of kit!

    • Written by from Dublin

Don't let the negative reviews to put you off!

After reading other reviews I learned that I can't expect to see the battery level of those to be 100% ( I got 85% )
One month later the Keyboard is down to 43% and Mouse is down to 46%, which I think is great considering that I'm working on my iMac on average about 7 hours each day.
I think it's very close if not the same as what I've got out of the original batteries that came with the Mac.

    Nice product but not revolutionary

    • Written by from Seattle

Apple's battery charger comes with 6 NiMH rechargeable cells, which are of the eneloop low-self discharge style. If you're going to get rechargeable cells, these types are the only ones worth getting anymore. The benefit is that they retain most of their charge even after a year just sitting around -- unlike rechargeables of old that would lose most of their charge in a week or two (often at the most inconvenient of times). Additionally, you can charge these cells 1000 times, which will likely last 10-15 years.

The charger itself charges up to 2 cells at a time, which is nice in that you have a very compact charger to travel with. The charger also has "smarts" to turn-off charging when a cell is fully charged. It takes about 5 hours to fully charge a set of batteries. So this is a nice product, but it is not revolutionary in that there are other small compact "smart" chargers out there that do the same thing for a bit less money, charge slightly faster and also support AAA batteries. Still, it is a nice package that Apple has put together.

    Disappointing level of charge maintained

    • Written by from Medway

After my corded mouse finally went to heaven I had little choice but to move to wireless. My new magic mouse has performed satisfactorily so far - but it is the rate at which it eats battery charge that's unreasonable.

The design of the charger is excellent. It is the quality I have to question.

My local Apple store and a premium reseller in the same vicinity both told me they had three months usage from the Apple Charger and its batteries. On the strength of this I purchased but the actual performance has proved far from the quoted time scale.

After two or three charges I began to carefully mark the batteries to determine if particular ones were less powerful than others; I achieved a quite remarkable unanimity of performance.

BETWEEN EIGHT AND TEN DAYS FROM 100% TO JUST UNDER 10%.

I've also tried 2 sets of Duracell premium batteries. Their performance was slightly but not markedly worse.

I have an Apple iMac mid 2007 running Snow Leopard. I use my computer for about 3 hours per day and my average monthly bandwidth usage is less than 4GB. As a machine it has been excellent and I have no reason to think it is draining the battery due to any technical malfunction.

All in all it comes back to the charger and batteries. They meet less than 20% of the estimated performance, a figure that in some countries would give grounds for a charge of misrepresentation. I don't think like that - but I am very disappointed.

    Disappointed

    • Written by from Silver Spring

The charger is a great idea, small and doesn't use much juice when the batteries are charged up.
But I'm seriously disappointed in the quality of the product. The third time I wanted to recharge, the amber light is just flashing and the batteries won't charge. Nothing has changed on the batteries or the charger, it just stopped working. $30 wasted :(

    Stopped Working

    • Written by from Highlands Ranch

This little charger was great at first, but after about 3 cycles through the included batteries, it stopped working. The light never comes on, the batteries never charge. I have had to resort to using a larger wall charger that came with some Eneloop batters I purchased to charge these. Turns out I paid a lot, for nothing but rechargeable batteries.

    Simple, compact, and fairly priced

    • Written by from Moraga

The purchase price should include eight, rather than six, rechargeable batteries.

It is a compact charger and could use a carrying case which would cost a few mere dimes maximum.

    Hence, FOUR stars.

Nice charger, doesn't come with enough batteries

    • Written by from Fort Myers

The idea is great. Have batteries for you keyboard, mouse and extra for when they run down. But, apple keyboard takes 3 batteries, magic mouse takes 2, leaving only one extra. ( comes with 6) What good does one extra battery do? The charger itself is small and nicely designed.

    Apple Battery Charger

    • Written by from Halifax

The Apple Battery Charger works as expected my gripe is with the batteries. They don't seem to work like Eneloops which hold most of their charge for up to a year, the Apple batteries seem to self-discharge. I fully charged them when I first got them but when I went to use the batteries they were at 60% after a couple of weeks.

Doesn't charge two batteries at the same time anymore

    • Written by from Ontario

I bought mine with my Magic Trackpad and charged up all my batteries back then. Now that the batteries supplied with the trackpad are low, I figured I'd top off my rechargeables and stick a pair in.

…as it turns out, I can't put any pair of Apple-supplied batteries into my charger without getting the blinking orange light, and some batteries appear to prefer one charging slot over another.

Must have with the Magic Trackpad

    • Written by from MIAMI

I bought the Apple Battery Charger with my Magic Trackpad not realizing that the Trackpad would chew through batteries like they are going out of style. The charger works perfect and the batteries work well. If I charge them and let the extra ones sit in my drawer waiting for the ones I'm using in my Trackpad to go dead so I can swap them they seem to loose a little charge. But hey they are rechargeable so I just give them a quick refresh. They last a long time in my Apple wireless keyboard! I highly recommend them to everyone, and frequently do at the Apple store when I'm there. :)

Blinking Charging light fix & Review.

    • Written by from NEWTOWN

This is how you can fix the blinking light. Simply leave it plugged in and take each one of the batteries out, then place them back in. Hope it works for you like it did for me. Here is my review on the product, This is the slimmest battery charger I have ever owned and it's probably the only one the that works. It's easy to bring this anywhere with hardly taking up any space. It gives a nice long charge but will defiantly be slightly less then any non-rechageable battery, (But you can recharge them so it's not like it matters...) I would say 4.5 out of a possible 5.
