    Excellent, compact, and long lasting.

    • Written by from COLUMBIA

I've had 2 of these for several years now. I'm confused by the reviews that mention poor battery life, because this has not been my experience

Since each comes with 6 batteries, I use one pair each in a wireless mouse, a trackpad, and the third pair kept in the charger. I would say each pair typically lasts for over 2 months between charges. The Mac Pro computer they are used with is kept on 24 hours a day.

I use the second set to charge a pair for an Apple wireless keyboard I use with an iPad, a pair in a wireless transmitter for my onstage in-ear monitors, and again the third pair is kept in the charger. The keyboard lasts well over a month per charge. The in-ear transmitter is more power hungry, but I can typically use it for 2-3 gigs (about 4 hours each) before I need to swap out the batteries.

With the batteries inserted in the charger its size is not much bigger than 4 batteries would be outside the charger. Small, convenient, and very reliable. I've recommended these to people several times, and everyone I know who has them is very satisfied.

    Simple, Cheaper and Reliable!

    • Written by from Elmwood Park

I am writing this review because I saw many reviews that had low ratings and this has not been my experience. The charger is simple to use and does its job. In fact I have a set of 6 that are 3 years old right now and my wireless keyboard lasts a couple of months without the need for recharging. My magic mouse (without turning off like I should) will last anywhere from three weeks to a month with high usage. There have been people complaining about batteries lasting longer than 3 years (which mine have) however, 3 years is usually the maximum life you would get out of similar top selling bunny sponsored rechargeable battery brands, with the Apple batteries being a cheaper price even with including the mandatory charger. I have since bought 2 more charger/battery 6 packs to power all my remotes and flashlights around the house. It's been 9 months and I just turned a mag light on and it was still producing a full powered bright light. I just wish apple would make additional batteries available without having to buy more chargers but overall it's a great product!

    Apple Battery Charger

    • Written by from Branchport

This thing deserves 5 stars across the board. I was buying batteries for my magic mouse constantly because they would be dead in a week and a half. I do a great deal of Photoshop work and on my iMac all day long constantly. I decided to buy this charger. Not only does it come with 6 batteries it holds the charge immensely! I am going on week 3 and still at 93% life left on my first charge! If this were those expensive batteries I have been buying I would be replacing weekly! Another note. I noticed store bought batteries are not really gauged correctly as far as life is concerned if you look to see how much life is left. One day it will say 90% and the next day it will say you have 5% left. This charger & batteries seems to gauge the life left correctly. I wish I had bought this sooner as I could have saved a great deal of $$$$..For $29.00 this was a great buy!!! Happy I bought it for sure!!!

Will not hold a charge any longer

    • Written by from SAN BRUNO

Like others, I bought the batteries on the representation that they had a 10 year life. It has only been 2-3 years, and for quite some time they hold a charge only for a few days. Now it is about 2 days. This product was a rip off. Over promised, over priced, under delivered.

    Poor quality

IPhone 5 phone chargers are the WORST. I'm on my 5th phone charger which is ridiculous... and the chargers are over priced.. $19? 19x5= 95 dollars wasted on phone chargers... I'm considering switching to Andriod because i'm so sick of having to throw money away at over priced phone chargers that keep breaking!!!

    Not holding a charge

    • Written by from Cheyenne

I have two of these packs and can't get any of the 12 batteries to hold a charge for longer than 2 days after a full recharge. The chargers' lights seem to work ok as intended, just the batteries are draining extremely fast. Doesn't matter if they are in the keyboard or mouse, or sitting in a drawer, I get two days worth per "full" charge. Frustrating.

    WAY better than energizers...

    • Written by from Woodland Hills

I've been using Energizer rechargables and the thing I always noticed was that once they were charged, if you leave them on the charger it continues to over cook the batts, causing long term damage and shortened life. This apple charger is "smart", when they're charged, it shuts off! When you come back hours later, the batts are nice and cool.

    Thanks Apple!

    Dead After Three Years

No longer works. Solid amber light all the time.

This product should last longer than 3 years. What a waste of plastic.

Very disappointing performance. Once batteries are "fully charged" they last less than a few days in cordless mouse or keyboard.

Best buy ever for any battery

    • Written by from Virginia Beach

I first tried the batteries about three years ago with a ton of use each and every day. The only issue i have is that i only have six batteries and one charger. I am a father of 3 kids that love to use flashlights, leap pads, trains, and a ton of other toys that take AA batteries. I just went out and bought two more packs so i have 18 batteries and three chargers. I try my best to stay GREEN and recycle just doing my part. The price of the batteries is a lot a first until you do some math. My kids can use around 12 batteries per week on all the stuff that they have. That would add up to over 600 batteries per year if i did not use rechargeable ones. The price of 4 batteries is around $4.00 so 600 batteries times $4.00 is around $600.00 per year. One pack of Apple rechargeable ones are just $29.00 and can last up to 10 years. The math is only facts and 100% real.

    clean and works as advertised

    • Written by from Saint Louis Park

I use this charger with the 6 batteries it came with and am slowly adding other NiMH batteries as my devices need them. The charger works great with either and the Apple branded batteries outlast all others. I wish Apple sold expansion packs of batteries alone!

    Disappointing level of charge maintained

    • Written by from Medway

After my corded mouse finally went to heaven I had little choice but to move to wireless. My new magic mouse has performed satisfactorily so far - but it is the rate at which it eats battery charge that's unreasonable.

The design of the charger is excellent. It is the quality I have to question.

My local Apple store and a premium reseller in the same vicinity both told me they had three months usage from the Apple Charger and its batteries. On the strength of this I purchased but the actual performance has proved far from the quoted time scale.

After two or three charges I began to carefully mark the batteries to determine if particular ones were less powerful than others; I achieved a quite remarkable unanimity of performance.

BETWEEN EIGHT AND TEN DAYS FROM 100% TO JUST UNDER 10%.

I've also tried 2 sets of Duracell premium batteries. Their performance was slightly but not markedly worse.

I have an Apple iMac mid 2007 running Snow Leopard. I use my computer for about 3 hours per day and my average monthly bandwidth usage is less than 4GB. As a machine it has been excellent and I have no reason to think it is draining the battery due to any technical malfunction.

All in all it comes back to the charger and batteries. They meet less than 20% of the estimated performance, a figure that in some countries would give grounds for a charge of misrepresentation. I don't think like that - but I am very disappointed.

    Pros and Cons

    • Written by from Berkeley

    Pros

    1. Stops sucking power once the batteries reach 100%. Supposed to anyway. This way you're not wasting energy when it's done charging like most chargers do.

    2. US plug can be converted to international.

    3. Looks nice

    Cons
    1. Plug blades collapse inward when you try to plug it in.
    2. Seems to be charging after it's reached 100%. Light stays orange instead of green.
    3. Occasionally you'll set it up and find out there was an error, the status light is blinking and batteries weren't charged. Re-seating the batteries seems to help even if they were seated correctly to begin with.

The biggest waste of money ever on an Apple product

    • Written by from Greenville

The problem with this charger is simple. It doesn't recharge batteries. I had two rechargeable batteries in it for a week and it just plain didn't work. I am used to Apple having superior quality hardware. I'm sorry to say I was disappointed.

    Just Awesome.

    • Written by from Edmonton

I have now purchased 5 sets of these batteries (I know.. I have a lot of devices that use AA). The longevity is excellent, and it doesn't take long to charge them. And since I have never needed to charge more than 2 at a time, the charger itself is the perfect size to be unobtrusive and easy to store. The batteries also hold their charge well when not in use, so even my spares will still have over 90% capacity when I need them, often months later. Have not seen any other rechargeable batteries perform this well.

I have had one instance of the charger light flashing amber, and the batteries themselves only being charged to about 40% after a whole night. One quick visit to the Apple Store, and I have a new charger and six new batteries, all working just fine, free of charge thanks to the 1-year Apple warranty.

All that, combined with an extremely reasonable purchase price for a set of quality batteries makes this a no-brainer. All of my devices now use these batteries.

    • Written by from Miami

Extremely unsatisfied customer this has been the third charger I have bought! It always manages to twist in the hard part of the charger where you connect your phone. It's a waste of money and a very poor product!!. Throughout my whole life I have never had a charger made of a soft flexible material. Wondering who had the brains and came with this product! Can't wait to switch to Samsung!

Good Charger, But Where is the 4 Battery Unit?

    • Written by from DES MOINES

I have two of these from various apple products at work and they have worked without issue. The only problem I have is that Apple only makes a two battery version. Why is there not a four battery or three battery version, since some things take three batteries like the keyboard I'm typing on right now.

Other than that, I get several months of use out of a charge for my mouse and keyboard with 5x8 use per week. So I'm happy with the battery performance.

Lousy product. A waste of money.

    • Written by from Dulles

After reading the reviews, I was concerned about buying this, but went ahead and bought it anyway. A mistake. It charged the batteries once. Since then, the amber flashing light goes on every time I try to charge. I'm using Apple's own batteries, straight out of the box and I've tried the suggestions in the forums: take out the batteries, put them in again, turn them with you finger. Done it repeatedly. Doesn't matter. The charger is no good. At this rate, you have a 50-50 change of getting one that works. This one's a stinker ... and a waste of money.
