Poor quality batteries. Do not buy.

    • Written by from Pune

Every time I charge the batteries, it shows a different percentage. Only rarely it charges upto 100%. Once it showed 88% another time 91% another time 61% etc after full charging uptill green light. Also the charge drops suddenly. In one day I lost charge from 28% to 10% without use. And this happens frequently at different times.

Bad Batteries -- Require CONSTANT recharging

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I ordered two sets of these for my trackpad to use in the office (after two years of using Duracell). I've been using them for about 3 months and these batteries have been a huge disappointment. They require constant recharging. The Duracell batteries easily last 5 or 6 times longer.

I know this because my Mac shows the percentage left under the bluetooth setting. I am very disappointed in these and do NOT recommend purchasing.

    Works great for me

    • Written by from Seattle

I am happy with this charger. I like the small size, and if you let the batteries charge until the green light goes off they seems to charge more completely. I have a couple of these and some of the batteries (that came with the charger) I have had for years, and they still work fine. I have found that the contacts should be cleaned (with an eraser or just insert the batteries in and out a few times), but otherwise no issues at all. I have accidentally put non-rechargeable batteries in this charger and the light flashes orange when you plug it in, but otherwise no harm done.

    Poor performance versus Alkaline

    • Written by from Durham

The batteries last only a week in the Magic Trackpad, versus 3 months using Alkaline disposables. The batteries will charge to 100%, but if left to trickle charge in the charger, the full charge drops to ~92%.

This is the second Apple charger I've owned. The first one failed to charge for even a day, so it was replaced under warranty.

Great design, but poor battery type!

    • Written by from Melbourne

Apple: I've stood up for your few shortcomings as simple mistakes, or perhaps misguided design, but Ni-MH batteries when Li-Ion is available as FAR SUPERIOR battery??!! Come on! I think I speak for the masses when I say had you put Li-Ion batteries in this compared to the Ni-MH batteries, I'd buy a lot more of them to keep around the house and for when I travel!

Charger plus batteries. Always two in the mouse, and two on the charger, ready to go. Batteries last a while. Have had no issues whatsoever. The size form factor and tuckaway prongs makes it easy and convenient for traveling.

Hard to find in store but worth the search!

    • Written by from Willow Grove

Last year, I purchased my father a top-of-the-line iMac. He loves the iMac. He games a lot and it was quite difficult to get him to try and use the Apple Mac accessories (keyboard, mouse and trackpad). But he did eventually try them out and loves them! For this holiday I had trouble finding something to compliment his Mac experience. This battery charger was the best thing I could find. He was overjoyed! And since I bought my MacBook Pro and iPad.....this battery charger has been heaven. It's so simple to use, it's power efficient and just speaks of the quality that Apple embodies. It also really showcases Apple's commitment to the environment. (Which I never took too much of an interest until I read about Apple's strong efforts.) The batteries are high performance and look to last for years. At the retail store in Willow Grove, PA, they told me that Apple was going to discontinue the Apple Battery Charger (since it was not out in the store). If that is true, I really hope they reconsider. And I hope this review helps consumers to be more aware of how Apple is helping the environment with quality!

    Quality Charger

    • Written by from Columbus

I purchased (2) chargers about 4 years ago, these are still working like new. they last a long time, I alternate batteries and keep them charged so I always have fully charged batteries, these are designed for batteries that come with it, not other brand batteries. plus I have saved a ton of money not buying regular batteries, and filling up land fills. this is a no brainer, well worth the money.

    Total waste of money

    • Written by from BENDIGO

It looks good but that's about it. My old charger that I bought at the supermarket did a better job than this. Constantly get the flashing amber light when I try to recharge, whether it be the Apple batteries that come with it or other brands.

My advice; buy something else that actually, you know, charges batteries.

I can charge 4 batteries in just one day and they will have my older Mac wireless Keyboard (takes 3 batteries) at 90% charged. Best one I've ever used.

    Money saver!

    • Written by from Sheridan

I bought the charger last January when I bought my new iMac. It has worked fine until the last time I tried to charge the batteries. Tried again today and still nothing but the orange light on top of the charger. I went and read the reviews and was surprised at how many people were having the same issue.

I also noticed that when I had left the charger in the outlet for several hours that it was hot when I removed it.

In looking it over I discovered the plug was NOT fully locked into place. You'll hear a small "click" when it's properly seated.

Problem solved. I just charged two sets of the batteries.

I have to say I love this little gadget. Has saved me a bunch of money on regular batteries for my Magic Mouse. I'm so glad I figured out what the problem was (as usual, the operator).

Works great for what it is

    • Written by from West New York

I initially bought the charger and batteries for use with my Apple Wireless Keyboard, and then forgot I had them and used Li-Ion batteries, which last forever! Unfortunately, though, they're prohibitively expensive, so I dug into the drawer and got these out. I've since switched to total Mac OS, so I'm using them in my Apple keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad, all with reasonable success and reliability. I can't speak to those users who've experienced varying degrees of reliability with the charges the batteries hold, but for my part, I've had no problems at all. I've been recharging them on average about once every 40 days with heavy use. And when they wear out, I'll get another set. The way I see it, I've saved quite a bit of money!

I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

Charger stops charging fully after a while

    • Written by from Coldbrook

The capacity of the batteries appeared to drop gradually until I was only getting 30 minutes or so from a charge. I tried charging them in my Duracell 15-min rapid NiMH charger and they reported 100% again.

Conclusion: the batteries seem to be okay - the charger stops charging them fully.

    Awful, don't waste your money.

    • Written by from Wesley Chapel

So I have had my 27" iMac with wireless keyboard and mouse for about 6 months. The batteries, when I can actually get them to charge on the charger, only charge up to 81%. That wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that after putting them back into the Magic Mouse, the batteries are only lasting 30mins before the "low battery" notification comes back up and the mouse won't stay connected.

I will be going by the Apple Store this week to try and swap these useless things out. For now, I am using my old Alienware wired mouse. Such a shame.

A good looking product that work well for a year and a half and then the charges were lower and lower judging by need for replacement every week. Tossed the batteries and bought new ones but the charging power was still very feeble.

    Apple battery charger

    • Written by from Oakville

It worked great for 2 charges, after that it didn't charge consistantly anymore. In the end, i had to keep regular batteries handy because the rechargables were unreliable. They are a great concept but didn't work well.
