    Battery Charger

I purchased a Battery charger and I'm reasonably happy only one problem is the design of the charger. I find it a bit difficult to pull the charger out of the wall socket Ideally you could do with a lip on either side of the charger so you have something to grip apart from that it does the job

Like the vast majority of NiMH batteries, these are rated at 1.2 volts, not the 1.5 volts that disposables pack. There are a few rechargables rated 1.5v but they are much more expensive than 1.2v ones.

I know. This surprised me too when I went shopping for rechargables. But it's what you get from just about every manufacturer.

Is that a problem? If your use case requires 1.5v, then it would be. But for most uses, including the powering of the peripherals Apple targets them for, 1.2v is a perfectly fine working voltage.

And, hey, you get 6 batteries. So keep a spare pair charging. It sort of doesn't matter how if you have to replace 12x a year (my experience with my mighty mouse on old fashioned batteries) or 14x or 10x.

I have these. So far they seem a good job and I would recommend them to people who don't get too freaked about the calibration of the % power meter.

Very disappointed! Doesn't hold charge like it says it does, didn't even last 2 weeks in my mighty mouse.

Of course rechargeable batteries don't read 100%

Devices measure available charge by voltage, and NiMH (or NiCd or Li-ion) rechargeables *never* reach as high a voltage as traditional alkalines. It's a question of chemistry. HOWEVER, the rechargeables also stay at usable voltage longer, delivering their rated capacity. So if your mouse reads 80%, it's because it's calibrated to the old-fashioned, environmently damaging disposable batteries. In terms of economics, you will break after perhaps a dozen charges even though "disposables" are cheap. Apple should be faulted if it doesn't make it clear, but they're not ripping you off. We have been using rechargeables in a Mac wireless keyboard and mouse for years. The key is to have a fresh set always ready to go.

Apple should be faulted for not pushing rechargeables long ago. It's the thing to do, to save money, your sanity, and the environment.

    Great Looking, poor battery

I bought the batteries and charger for my wireless keyboard and magic mouse and they worked well at first but now won't charge past 68%. I guess it doesn't matter too much because as they drain I can just charge them again, but I would like them to charge to 100%.

Full Charge = 62% on new mouse = disappointing.

bought a new 27" iMac. bought the new apple battery charger at the same time. plugged it in, charged up the batteries until the energizer batteries died in the new mouse. put the new fresh recharged batteries in the mouse and it says it is at 62% charge. kind of disappointing.

i do have to say though, for a mundane item like a battery charger the design is very nice. the specs say it has a green power saving mode which is also very good, no vampire power sucking. but still, it only charged the batteries to 62%. it does come with 3 sets of batteries and i haven't gone through and charged them all yet - but i will do that now that the first round only provides 62% life.

could it be faulty batteries? maybe a less-cool looking charger that has been around longer would deliver a reliable 100% charge.

I got the apple battery charger yesterday and so far its great. I plugged it in and the batteries charges within about 3 and a half hours. Plus you can use it with other devices that use AA batteries. Recommended buy if your looking for a Battery charger.

Just received my new Apple Battery Charger. On first full charge it show's 92%, so i let it charge more. After that i tried on my magic mouse, it show's only 85%. Not sure if it's normal but the product is sleek and sexy.

Does not work well in my mouse.

Fully charged, these batteries only register 85% at most, in my mouse. I used the mouse editing pictures for about an hour and the % was down to 73%. I don't think that these batteries work very well in my mouse at least. I have a 1 month old 21.5" IMac with the I3 chip.
The batteries that came with the mouse were regular Energizer Alkalines and they lasted the full month and were down to 25% when I changed to the rechargeables. I am going back to Alkaline batteries.

I like the design and thought it's from Apple, must be good. But it doesn't charges the batteries full, 70% is the maximum I get. Disappointing, the charger should look good AND charge.

Beware: Batteries dont charge at 100% capacity

I bought this battery charger, since i had the wireless mouse and keyboard, and the mouse would rip through batteries just like that so i had to keep changing batteries every 4 weeks. So i got this hoping that my problem will be solved and also since it was something that apple makes and i mostly like everything they make. Well when i charged them, it took 5 hours, since the ones that come with it are not charged to full capacity. But even after waiting the 5 hours, i used them and for the keyboard, it was only at 80% and the mouse, at 60%, i do not know why they can not make it to charge at 100%, so that means im going have to keep waiting to keep charging them since they dont charge all the way. Im slightly dissappointed in apple with these batteries. I recommend them but not for those who use their periphals a lot.

Great Apple-quality product. Comes with 6 batteries which makes it a really good deal for the money. What I really like is that it works with the Apple Travel Kit, so it's very easy to charge your batteries when you're overseas! Not to mention it looks slick!

Blinking Charging light fix & Review.

    • Written by from NEWTOWN

This is how you can fix the blinking light. Simply leave it plugged in and take each one of the batteries out, then place them back in. Hope it works for you like it did for me. Here is my review on the product, This is the slimmest battery charger I have ever owned and it's probably the only one the that works. It's easy to bring this anywhere with hardly taking up any space. It gives a nice long charge but will defiantly be slightly less then any non-rechageable battery, (But you can recharge them so it's not like it matters...) I would say 4.5 out of a possible 5.

I don't know if I got a good batch or what but I charged and drained all of my batteries at least three time and I get 100% fully charged and my charges last long in my mouse and keyboard. I have to put them in my camera to get them to discharge quickly, but their great.
