    Stopped working after 18 months

    • Written by from BRIGHTON

A good looking product that work well for a year and a half and then the charges were lower and lower judging by need for replacement every week. Tossed the batteries and bought new ones but the charging power was still very feeble.

    Apple battery charger

    • Written by from Oakville

It worked great for 2 charges, after that it didn't charge consistantly anymore. In the end, i had to keep regular batteries handy because the rechargables were unreliable. They are a great concept but didn't work well.

Batteries and charger dead too soon

    • Written by from University Cy

The batteries didn't really last for very many charges, and the charger itself stopped working after a year or so. This is mostly a waste of money in the end. My trusty old camera flash batteries and charger are still going strong after 6 years.

    Nice design but poor performance

    • Written by from Granada Hills

It's a nice, stylish compact unit, but when it comes to the crunch the experience is not so nice. The batteries that come with the charger are pathetic, lasting a lot less time than other rechargeable batteries, meaning you will be continually changing out the batteries in your mouse.

The charger itself (and I must admit this may be down to the poor quality batteries, I'm not sure of the technical details) does a poor job of charging the batteries, often charging them to an incomplete level. Right out of the box the charger from time to time would give a blinking orange light suggesting the official Apple batteries are incompatible (this is when the batteries are seated correctly).

In short, chances are you already own a battery charger, and you're thinking about getting this to compliment your Apple products. If that's the case, I'd say: don't bother. Stick with another charger.

Great Idea, but not so good a product.

    • Written by from Oakland

-Batteries tend to not charge anywhere near full.
    -Replacement batteries not available.
-Charger does not work with other batteries.

    Disappointing for Apple

    • Written by from Pompano Beach

Bought 2 of these expecting Apple's normal superior performance but was disappointed. They are no better than the re-chargeables I purchased at the grocery store. Run out quickly and the chargers are quirky.

    Doesn't Charge Very Well

    • Written by from Los Angeles

    Really disappointed with this product.

When I bought my new iMac in November it came with regular AA batteries already installed in the mouse and they lasted over three months so I replaced them with these rechargeable batteries and they last about a week or two and never fully charge. I can't get them to charge about 80% and I start losing a connection when they go under 50%. And half the time I can't get the charger to even register that the batteries are in there. I thought maybe I had a single faulty battery, but all of them are the same way.

    Disappointed

    • Written by from Silver Spring

The charger is a great idea, small and doesn't use much juice when the batteries are charged up.
But I'm seriously disappointed in the quality of the product. The third time I wanted to recharge, the amber light is just flashing and the batteries won't charge. Nothing has changed on the batteries or the charger, it just stopped working. $30 wasted :(

Convenient, but seem defective. Won't charge to 100%.

    • Written by from Springfield

I love the convenience of Apple rechargeable batteries, but they seem defective. The batteries are used between 2 of us at work. 1 Magic Mouse and 1 Mighty Mouse. 1st set of batteries wouldn't charge more than 50%. Apple sent a replacement that arrived the next day. These are slightly better, but when you check the battery level in your Bluetooth menu at the top it still reads about 80% full after a full 24 hour charge and after a charge when the green charge light turns off. We still use them because, aside from not getting a full charge, they work great.

    Bit Disappointed

    • Written by from Kitchener

I purchased 2 of these because unfortunately for me my blue tooth keyboard is the older one which requires 3 batteries, and not 2, so I needed the extra pack. What I don't understand is why the batteries don't charge to 100% I only seem to be able to get about 80% if not less. This is applicable to both the batteries going into the keyboard, trackpad and mouse. Looks like the Energize batteries are a better option, for me at least.

    Very short lifetime

    • Written by from Oregon

Pros: The batteries it comes with are high capacity, they last a lot longer than normal batteries out of the box and after a few charges.
Cons: After a couple months of charging both Apple's NiMH and some other brand NiMH batteries, the charger always just flashes orange and doesn't charge any batteries at all. This happened to me twice. Because of this, I cannot recommend buying this charger.

    What's the rave?

    • Written by from Victoria

I'm surprised this junk is Apple branded. The batteries don't sit well in the charger, it's hard to tell when they are charging, and they aren't that good a battery. I don't know how they compare to other rechargeable batteries but they aren't even close to even an ordinary throwaway, let alone a lithium. Nothing elegant about the design. I'm not impressed.

    Battery charger

    • Written by

This Apple product looks really good and the concept is cool. But, the real catch is when it comes to charging, all the 6 of the batteries need a very frequent charging as they get discharged too soon. The indicator turns green showing that the battery charge is full, but when I put them into my mouse and start using it shows 93%. As and when I use the batteries they get discharged soon without much long usage.

Looks great, disappointed in the charge

    • Written by from Crandall

Two stars for a very nice design. But I cant give it any more than that, because it only charges to 87% when placed in the Magic Mouse. They also seem to drain down faster than regular Energizer batteries. For $29 you should expect top notch performance and this charger hasnt delivered.

    Particularly finicky

    • Written by from Parker

I like that this charger is very small. I can put it in my backpack so I always have a charger with me, particularly on vacation.

What I don't like is how finicky it is with batteries. I get the orange blinking lights with almost every battery - including Apple's. The second time I went to charge Apple's own batteries, it started to blink orange. Having a compact design is useless if it won't charge your batteries.

You might want to pass for now.

Sorry Apple. This product is off the mark.

    • Written by from Coconut Creek

Usually I give most Apple products a chance and usually love them. This product however, is a battery charger. Not rocket science.. but I hate to say that they got this little device all wrong. looks great but functionality is horrible. Never charges fully. Goes up to about 85% and then drains far too quickly. I get about triple the usage out of regular batteries. If you're looking for a good rechargeable battery charger. You might want to look somewhere else.

    not good batteries

    • Written by from oakland

These batteries are not good at holding a charge.

They come dead, so you know they are not low self discharge, just a fancy package of standard NiMH batteries.

    They don't charge to 100%.

They don't provide enough power to keep my bluetooth keyboard connected, at the exact same distance that the eneloops work fine.

Don't waste your money on these, they really aren't very good batteries.

    Great Looking, poor battery

    • Written by from Fresno

I bought the batteries and charger for my wireless keyboard and magic mouse and they worked well at first but now won't charge past 68%. I guess it doesn't matter too much because as they drain I can just charge them again, but I would like them to charge to 100%.
