    Not so good.

    • Written by from Jacksonville

I bought these batteries over a year ago and right away my bluetooth manager would report the newly charged batteries to be far below 100%. As a result, the charge would not last nearly as long as with other batteries. Thankfully, apple keyboards and mice don't seem to use much juice, so these batteries were still usable. However, I just went to charge a set of batteries and sparks were flying out of the back of the charger and now it altogether doesn't work. Poor product for sure. Seeing that I can't charge apple batteries in any other charger these are useless so I grabbed some of my energizer rechargeable batteries and they show up close to 100%. I plan to recycle these batteries and go buy a few more energizer packs (which have always worked great with my xbox controllers). Do yourself a favor and avoid these.

    Not impressed at all

    • Written by from RESTON

all 6 batteries when used in my Magic mouse or wireless keyboard lose the bluetooth connection and only ever read 72% as max charge, also have repeatable issues with batteries not seating correctly in the charger - cheap product - can't say I recommend it.

    Hey j.b. From winnepeg

How are you able to determine if the charge lasts a long time when you wrote your review on the same day you bought it? Please be honest with your reviews.

This product is one of the few let downs i have experienced with an apple product. Batteries do not fit properly and after four charge cycles my battwries no longer hold a charge for more than several days. Very dissapointed.

Not worthy of the Apple name

    • Written by from DAYTONA BEACH

Very disappointed. I purchased the charger after listening to the Sales pitch from the Best Buy Apple rep. After 6 weeks, the batteries in my mighty mouse died. I expected more than that out of the batteries. Regular batteries last about three months. I returned it and exchanged it for another. I gave it one month and this new one did the same thing. After 4 weeks, the batteries died. I will be returning this to the store with hopes of getting my money back. What a shame. It seemed too good to be true and it was. I expected more out of an Apple product. I noticed that everyone either absolutely LOVED this product or absolutely DISLIKED it. I'm sad to say I'm in the latter group. Please work harder, Apple, on improving this.

    Miserably Disappointed

    • Written by from Dallas

I've been an Apple booster for some 20 years but this charger is a miserable disappointment. The first one I bought was simply defective and had to be exchanged. The replacement charges, but almost never to 100%. The batteries last about 3 days in my mouse before I have to switch them out again. It can only be used with NiMH AA batteries, so all my other rechargeables are left sitting in a drawer. If I had it to do over again, I would have bought one of the more versatile (and less expensive) universal chargers that are available elsewhere.

    Terrible, doesn't work

    • Written by from Boulder

I bought one of these for work and it failed to charge after about 2 charges. THey sent me a second one as replacement and it failed in the same way. Don't buy this product! They don't work and it is a waste of money. Get some other battery recharger.

    Not impressed

    • Written by from Auburn

I like the design and thought it's from Apple, must be good. But it doesn't charges the batteries full, 70% is the maximum I get. Disappointing, the charger should look good AND charge.

    Stopped working after 2 weeks

    • Written by from Brooklyn

It's barely been 2 weeks since I've started using these batteries/charger and after a single round, all I get now is a blinking amber light and no charge. Terribly disappointed.

All Three Battery Pairs Were Defective

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I wanted to love this product, but all three sets of batteries flashed amber after charging them, and once installed in my wireless mouse, only registered about 50% capacity. I will return this product to the Apple Store for another, hoping I can change my assessment.

    Not Good

    • Written by from Stamford

This is not a good product from Apple, I had to return it because the batteries drain really fast on the wireless keyboard and also registered only 45% on a full charge (green light), on the magic mouse it registered 85%... I get my Apple stuff from best buy because they have a 30 day return policy not like the 15 days from the Apple store and also no restocking fee except for the iPhone ;)

    Save your money!

    • Written by from Fairfield

I've been using rechargeable AA batteries in my mouse and keyboard for years (The standard Energizer/Duracell type). They come out of the charger, go right into my mouse /keyboard (at about 84-87% battery charge) and then after about 10 days, they go right back into the charger. It is really rare at my use rate that they last any longer than 10 days. It is a hassle, so I decided to see if Apple's attempt was better than the standard.

My first batteries came out of the charger (after being charged for 24 hours at only 74% battery power and it took 7 tries to get the new batteries into the charger so they would charge without having the flashing Amber light which says that I either have the wrong or damaged batteries-straight out of the box. Not good!

Save your money and shipping charge and buy the regular Energizers-they hold a bigger charge.

    Feel lucky?

    • Written by from Alpharetta

It is true that the Apple wireless keyboard and Apple magic mouse both show at most 80% battery level with these batteries. It has something to do with the voltage of the rechargeable batteries. That is not a huge deal.
Here is my issue with this battery charger and batteries.
After letting a set of batteries charge for a few days, I removed them from the charger, and kept them on my desk, putting another set of batteries in to charge.
A week later I put the charged batteries that were on my desk in my magic mouse, and it showed only 9% charge left, and I immediately got a low battery warning. Mouse stopped working a day later, and I had to replace the batteries.

This has occurred several times for me. Now I can occasionally get 40% charge out of them if I charge them right before use. These have only been charged a handful of times a piece and the charger is only about 6 months old. Maybe I just have a bad batch of batteries. Maybe if you buy this you will have better luck. Feel lucky?

    DEFECTIVE

    • Written by from San Francisco

I ordered this and when I plugged it in the light flashed amber-according to instructions this happens only if the unit is damaged or using defective batteries etc. As that was not the case either the unit was defective or the manual is incorrect. Anyhow-I got 2 more replacements and had the same issue with all three.
I spend 30 minutes on the phone trying to explain what a battery charger was to return it. it was a nightmare!

    Beautiful design. Terrible batteries.

    • Written by from BURBANK

Apple should be embarrassed and replace them with normal rechargeable batteries. Apple found the worst rechargeables in the World and put a shiny silver label on them for marketing. 80% when fully charged and Trackpad went down 10% in one day. I have absolutely no interest in recharging these batteries every week. Duracell batteries last more than six months on my keyboard (less with Trackpad). Apple? We are waiting for you to acknowledge and correct this defective product.

    Sour Apple

    • Written by from Rolling Meadows

Great concept, if only it charged the batteries. After charging the batteries overnight (the instruction manual suggests 5 hours) the battery level of my keyboard only reached 81%. I put in new Duracells and the level was 100%. The problem may be the manufacturer of the batteries, as they are not made by Apple.

    I had High Hopes but was Let Down . . . :(

    • Written by from Mankato

I really hoped that I would get a reliable battery charger from Apple but it failed after only a few charges. It is still under Warranty but what a hassle to have to send it back.
First of all it doesn't work well with ALL brands. I have 4 different brands and some flash orange ~ meaning not charging/not compatible?
Then when I went to charge the Apple batteries that came with it and found only one side of the charger works. Good thing I have a battery tester so I can figure out which battery has a charge.
Nice design, very compact but not the Quality I expected. :(

    Very Dissapointed

    • Written by from Grand Forks

Who would have thought that in the 21st century a company like Apple couldn't make a decent battery charger. It sounds like a good investment for those of us with wireless keyboards and mice, but I have never had a battery of the charger after being charged for days that had an energy reading above 50%. I expected more from Apple, I'm not sure what other brands of battery chargers are out there but they're probably worth exploring. Don't let the Apple branding on this fool you, try another option.

Stopped working after only about 7 days. The recharged batteries empty out only after 1 day. I went back to energizer batteries. What a waist of my money!!!
