The cable rips, exposing the wiring, in multiple places, which is very dangerous. Definitely not worth $80... A big rip off.

Still pretty darn good charger in my opinion. I've owned 2 MacBooks and have gone through 3 chargers. One was chewed my dog, and the other was replaced by Apple care. The 3rd one broke, but that was my own fault. I think Apple would do themselves and their customers a favor by making the cord a little thicker, and perhaps stiffer where it connects to the computer and the box in the middle. However in my experience as long a you leave slack in the wire and make sure that they aren't bent to far for to long it should work perfectly.

I have a late 2008 MacBook 13" Unibody, and I have been through 3 of these 60W chargers. 2 have come apart at the same spot (near the plug that goes into the Macbook) and when they come apart the wiring is showing so I have had to cover with electrical tape to make it some what safe. On the 3rd one, same spot came apart AND towards the brick it came apart and started smoking. Poor Product , Poor Quality, and a Fire Hazard.

Going on our 5th charger since our purchase in 2009. Great laptop, terrible charger. For the price of them and the quality, I won't be buying anymore from apple. I think I will take my chances with a chinese knockoff. They are half the price and will probably last twice as long. Please Apple, listen to your customers and fix this issue. I love your products, just not your macbook magsafe adapter.

While my macbook was under apple care, i didn't mind if the adapter broke ( though it only happened twice). Now i am going onto my 4th year with my macbook, no longer under apple care and as a student apples price for their adapter is way too high. the product itself isn't even durable.

I would give this product a Zero star if it were possible. I am just getting ready to get yet another power adapter for my Mac Air that is just over 1 year old. Ridiculous that a company such as Apple cannot respond to the problems of their customers with their products. This might explain the lowering Apple's value as a top company. I read that the power adapter problem has people moving to other computers. Get with it Apple!

Extremely poor design. It frays and then creates a shock which creates a power surge and then shuts down my computer. This is very dangerous. I think this has caused my monitor to break. Shame on you Mac for not fixing this problem. I am heading down to the Apple store yet again for another charger. Of course I can't get an appointment until tomorrow, so my biz is shut down till then. That PC is looking pretty good about now. Writing this on a PC right now.

The charger shows no outward signs of damage so I don't know how to fix it. The light started to go out randomly and now it's completely dead. I've tried wiggling and repositioning it, but to no avail.

Since 2009, I have broken 3 of these adapters and I am now on my 4th. Apple had no sympathy and never replaced under warranty so 79.00 x 3 = $237 + tax. So I asked a worker at the apple store last time I replaced my adapter. He told me that you must wrap the cord around those nubs that pull out. If you do not do this, the cord twists and binds which puts high tension on the cable attachments. So now I do it every time and it hasn't broken since. Unless you want to waste money like i did, WRAP YOUR CORDS! Apple won't tell you these things unless you learn the hard way. Learn from my mistake please.

I have had to buy 4 chargers in the 4 years i have had my computer. Apple needs to redesign these.
