This is sad. 6 month old 13 inch macbook. Now allow me to describe The issues iv had over the past 1 month.
1- This charger came with the computer it lasted a good few months but than began to flicker then while adjusting the head of the charger it actually fell off.
2- This charger was one that had been borrowed from the school district (my moms a teacher) The chord got frayed and stopped working although it gave me a good shock when i was unplugging it.
3- This is ANOTHER charger borrowed from the school district just like the first one The head of the charger was the issue although the head did not fall off it just flickered unless positioned right but it stopped working in a week. I now have to return 2 broken chargers to the school
4- I went back to the apple store with my first charger to get it replaced. They replaced it and I was using it but it just stopped charging my computer for no reason. I have taken good care of all these chargers and they are extremely poorly made. I would expect more from apple

My laptop is 3.5 years old and I've never had any problems with it, but I'm about to buy my third charger. What is wrong with this picture?? Apple is clearly capable of making long-lasting, functional products, so what's the deal with the terrible chargers? With my chargers, nothing explodes or melts, the wires don't fray (although the plastic casing around the wires does crack pretty easily), they just... stop working. I'm tired of shelling out $80 every year for a new charger!!

I hate this charger as much as I love my mac. This is the second one that fails since I purchased my macbook. At $80 a piece and with so many people complaining about this charger over a period of years, this product really sounds like a fraud. If you like macbooks, be prepared because you will have to change the charger every 1 - 1 1/2 years. And apparently there is nothing one can do about it except just to take a deep breath and pay for a new one.

I love my mac, and I've had it maybe 1 month more than the 1 year warranty and my charger is completely not working. I'm extremely disappointed that this charger is already broken and I have to pay $80 to get a new one. I'm a college student and I bought a mac because I thought it would last the longest out of everything on the market, I'm hoping nothing else starts going wrong with it.

I can't believe this charger is even allowed to be sold, or the fact that it seems Apple has not acknowledged this problem and tried to remedy the situation. I have to purchase my third charger soon for EIGHTY DOLLARS because this company cannot seem to make this product dependable. On top of that, my husband is in the army and we are currently living in Germany so I have to purchase this online then wait and extra amount of time to receive it since I'm overseas. It gets even worse, this is 2 days before school starts! I find it hard to believe with all of the products apple has created they cannot create a dependable charger. This thing is a piece and should only be sold for 5 bucks because that is what it's worth. Also, this L shaped design, wasn't the most brilliant idea they have come up with, it makes the cord get in the way of the plugs that are next to it and if I flip it around the wire bends funny. I prefer the T shaped charger and have no idea what possessed them to change the design rather than the performance. This is ridiculous. If Apple is going to charge an arm and a leg for their products then they should at least make them dependable. My husband has a $500 Gateway Laptop that has a power cord that performs flawlessly, which is 10 thousand times better than this $1,800 Macbook.

I purchased two MacBook Pros last year. I spent close to three-thousand dollars and now 1-yr later I have to shell out an additional $79.00 for a replacement adapter. If you page through these reviews you will see that there are an awful lot of people singing the same song. Some folks are on their third and fourth adapter within the first year!! That leads me to believe that there's a design flaw with the adapter. C'mon Apple...admit there's an issue and replace these adapters free of charge!!

I love my MacBook pro to death. But this power adapter is terrible. It's weak and it snaps fast. 2 out of 10 people might make it last for years but for any average user, this adapter just does not last long. Apple needs to have lifetime warranty on these little things.

This adapter is insanely overpriced, and falls apart. the wire soon becomes exposed with normal use and it will need to be replaced. Apple seriously needs to redesign these.

This is my second mac book .My first one had a problem with the power adapter after 4 years of use.(strain relief)
Now with my second one, something happens after just one year of use and the cable doesn´t seem to be broken or something.....
Is there any documented problem with the L style connectors?

My original adapter worked for 3 years. The new one lasted 4 months.
