    Issue with charger

    I have had my macbook for almost 2 years and am now on my 3rd charger. Same issue with the first two, the charger is unable to charge my laptop but with some maneuvering I am able to use it for maybe a month or two from when I start seeing the issue. I went to apple and one of their "geniuses" told me that I need to be more careful with it and it is because of my mishandling that it is breaking. I never take my charger out of my room or feel that I handle it too rough.

    Very displeased with this charger

    I bought my macbook about 1 year and a half ago, and the L shape charger that it came with is already broken. The part that connects to the port has totally broken of, and I can see the clean cut of wires and the glue residue, this product was not made properly or with quality. Even though Apple states that there products are the best. My older brother has the old apple charger for about 4-5 years now and it still works perfectly. Aren't newer products meant to last longer?
    I am very disappointed. Now my birthday present is going to be a new charger since they cost so much. Will i have to buy a new one every year? I hope not.

    Terrible!

    I have my mac book for two years, I am buying my third power cord. It is very flimsy, cover on wires easily damaged, wires brake. Expensive to replace.

    3 Chargers In....

    Ok this is becoming very annoying, I am about to have to purchase my 3rd charger for my laptop. I purchased this last one not even a year ago and already I am having to purchase another one due to the charger breaking at the point where it is attached to the part that connects to the laptop...

    THIS IS VERY VERY ANNOYING. You are a multi billion dollar company with access to unlimited research and trails, figure out a better way to make a longer lasting charger before we all switch to windows 8 and start buying PC's. R.I.P Steve

    Such quality is not expected from Apple

    I thought Steve Jobs paid close attention to everything... how could have missed paying attention to power cord which do not long more than a year,... rubber comes off like thick glue stuck on wire in 8-9 months...

    Breaks - AGAIN

    the right angle connection is no improvement over the old straight connector (that I notice the new Retina display models are using again), they ALL twist and break near the connector.

    Apple needs to incorporate some sort of flexible strain relief near the connector.

    convenient but it does'nt last. the wire frays at both ends of the cords. I usually have to get a replacement every few years. not bad until you consider its $80

    I am so gentle with my MacBook and its charger,
    but it ups and dies on me anyway. Judging from
    the common sentiment represented in the reviews
    for this product, need I say more?

    But I also think it is unreasonably expensive, especially
    for being so lame.

    Worst Charger ever

    This is the worst part of owning a mac book pro. THe charger is absolutely horrible. Mine got busted in 1.5 years. Apple really needs to improve the design. Very disappointed in apple and this charger is not worth 80 bucks.

    just 15 months ago i purchased macbook pro it costing 70,000 Rs ( i am from india) that time sony , dell and HP offer for 35,000 best laptop almost double cost MAC but now my charger not working , too hit for my laptop i don't think mac have good product just market good way

    This is not the way to make money off your cutovers!

    I am having the same problems with my power adaptor that apparently everyone else is having in that it is failing after a few months. I don't have another adaptor and will have to rush out and try to find one on completing this review as it is down to 12% power with no way to get the power cord to function and recharge my computer. This is not the way to treat loyal Apple customers. I bought my first Apple IIE computer and put it together with every extra card that was available. I bought the first mac that was available. Now for my 30 years of loyalty I can look forward to a problem so big that it prevents me from using my computer. Come on Apple you see what people are saying here don't be greedy and cheap out on us. Replace these faulty cords and treat your customers properly. Many thanks.

    2nd Notebook and 2nd Adapter Gone bad before 8 months

    Purchased a 15" MacBook last year and the MagSafe adapter stopped functioning a little over 6 months later.

    Took the MagSafe adapter into a Genius Bar (after making an appointment) and after spending time waiting for the Genius Bar to make a decision, was given a replacement. (Thank you!)

    Purchased an 11" MacBook Air earlier this year and about 8 months later, the MagSafe adapter has stopped functioning as well.

    Not looking forward to 1) spending more time to make an appointment with Genius Bar, 2) travel to/from the Genius Bar and 3) spend time to have someone at the Genius Bar look into what is clearly a faulty product.

    May the Apple gods make this adapter replacement as smooth as possible. Fingers crossed...

    Worst charger ever

    These power adapters do not last, the engineer that allowed this flawed design to hit the stores should be ashamed of himself. This was my fourth adapter, it just suddenly stopped working. I am not buying a new one from you given that I can but four generic adapters for each one of your disposable ones. Honestly Apple, you are selling overpriced disposable adapters and right now you are in no position to make mistakes and angry your customers, I am a very angry customer who has 316 dollars worth of trash.

    Loved it at first, now not so much

    My cord has never given me any problems until recently. The small magnet piece keeps detaching from the cord, and i have to fit it back into place in order for it to work. It continuously happens! 5 times so far!! I do not want to pay $80 for a new charger, that's insane!! Apple, please fix these for the next models of macbooks!! I love my computer but I hate when my electronics fail on me and my charger is A FAIL!!

    Do not last

    Onto power adapter #3 for a 3 1/2 year old 13inch MacBook. The price is ridiculous for what you get. The #2 was covered under a 3yr AppleCare but I'm on the hook for this one. No fraying, no bending of the cord. It just stopped charging the laptop. Things like this convince me that Apple is a toy company, not a professional computer company.

    My second is on its way out. My receipt (keep box and receipt for this one) shows I bought the replacement on March 5, 2012 and now, on November 17, 2012, it's toast. I use my laptop probably 10-12 hours a day and it travels to and from work. This adapter is probably fine for a stationary machine, but it needs to be much more heavy duty or else sell it for 20 bucks.

    I look forward to the class action on this one.

    I had this cord for only 2 1/2 years. My other power cords for past laptops (PC) have lasted me the lifetime of the laptop (4-5 years).

    I also don't like that the only option available is a white cord. It gets so grimy and turns brown even if you clean it frequently.
